1147609 tn?1263583431 My menstrual cycle was 25 days two months ago and 23 days this cycle. Now here's the background: I've always have perfect 28-day cycles. I could even judge with quite a bit of accuracy whether they would begin in the morning or in the evening. After a second trimester miscarriage three years ago, they went back to normal in two cycles. After the birth of my son (and while breastfeeding) they went back to normal in two months.
Avatar n tn for a lot of us. The length of your menstrual cycle can change from month to month for many different reasons, for example: if you are stressed about anything; changes in hormone levels; dietary changes; have experienced an illness recently; changes in medication or birth control, and so on... The average menstrual cycle is supposedly 28 days long (from the 1st day of your last period, to the 1st day of your next period), but often that's not typical for every woman.
Avatar n tn a period, it actually means that you have a longer cycle. There are many reasons for changes in your cycle length. Stress (good or bad), travel, new job, etc. can all cause a delayed ovulation and therefore delay your period.. Your body must menstrate and create a new cycle for ovulation to occur, if you hadnt alreay ovulated ...

Avatar f tn I am a 22-year-old medical student and know that normal cycle length varies between 28 to 35 days. My cycle however is around 40 days and sometimes more or less.. The question is, can that be normal? I'm a little overweight but not obese, I exercise regularly and I don't think I have any obvious signs of PCO. Any help?
Avatar f tn I would very much like to conceive in the near future but am worried by the recent changes in my menstrual cycle. I have been very regular for the past few cycles- every 32 days. For the last two, I've switched to every 38 days. Is this normal under stress or unhealthy? When I was in for my check-up awhile back, my Dr. said I may not be releasing an egg when this happens? What happens if my body has now decided to switch to this length of a cycle?
1152782 tn?1451101426 m going to have to go back on Yaz to get rid of the cysts. Do you think my cycle length is growing because of cysts coming back? Does anyone have any ideas of what it might be?

Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn s reports of the usual length of their cycle. The women reported usual cycle lengths as short as 19 days and as long as 60 days, with 28 days being the most common. We found substantial correlation between usual cycle length at enrolment and day of ovulation (follicular phase length) during the study (R=0.55, all cycles). Thus, self reported cycle length can be useful in predicting whether a woman is in her fertile window.
Avatar f tn I've been off the pill for 3 months after 9 years of taking it (I'm 34 years old). My first menstrual cycle was 40 days, then 33 the next month, then 34 the next--much longer than I'm used to. So here are my questions: Does this mean I ovulate later than if I had, say a 28 day cycle? I'm using a fertility monitor that said I was most fertile on day 13 but this seems wrong considering the long cycle. If I am ovulating later, will this hurt my chances of getting pregnant?
1793094 tn?1315374636 The last day of your cycle is the day BEFORE your menstrual bleeding starts. This number would be the total length of your cycle.

In June Anti TPO test came out to be 82 which shall be <60. T3, T4, TSH still in range. In September'13, Anti TPO came out to be 87.70 which shall be <60.
Avatar n tn Hi. During the second half of the menstrual cycle (after ovulation and leading up to menstruation), estrogen levels are higher in the woman's body. This results in retention of fluid in the breasts, and in the proliferation of the breast glands. If a mammogram were done at this time, the breasts may appear to be denser and contain areas which may mimic the appearance of a breast lump.
Avatar n tn My cycle length is 28 days.today is 31 day of my cycle .i have little pain in lower abdomen .am I pregnant ???
Avatar n tn Your menstrual cycle begins when you ovulate, moves on to having a period, and then goes on to ovulate again, and then have another period, etc., from the time you begin to have periods at around age 11 or 12, to the time you stop at around age 51 or 52. The average cycle length, a "menstrual month," is often 28 days long from one ovulation to the next. Ovulation starts the process. An egg gets ripe in your ovary, and pops out like a little explosion into your abdominal cavity.
Avatar n tn The menstrual cycle, particularly in young women, can be easily affected by changes in lifestyle, such as level of exercise, diet, and sleep. So, the delay in your period may be influenced by those factors. If you still haven't seen your period, you should take a pregnancy test ASAP, since a pregnancy test is the only way to know for sure if you are pregnant or not. Let us know how it goes for you.

Avatar f tn The last day of your cycle is the day before your next menstrual period starts. The average cycle length is considered 28 days, but many women have longer or shorter cycles and it's fine. The average women ovulates approximately 14 days before the start of her period, but again, that is certainly not carved in stone. The time between your ovulation and period is referred to as a luteal phase. Hope that helps.
