Avatar f tn What can I do to help menstrual migraines? Mine have gotten so bad that I have to miss work. Excederin Migraine used to help but it doesn't anymore. They are so painful. I also have gastroparesis and so I don't know what my stomach can tolerate.
Avatar n tn Does anyone here suffer from menstrual migraine, particularly with vertigo/dizziness? For the past few months, it seems about every two weeks - usually the week before and the week during my period - I get near constant dizziness. Sometime I'll get a one-sided headache, but not always. I usually often see tiny pinpoints of light now and then too - though they're not always associated with the vertigo or the headache.
Avatar f tn Its in my temples, the top of my head and the base of my skull. They tend to increase around my cycle, but that coule be during ovulation and menstruation which increases the frequency. I'm suffering and looking for the cure!
Avatar f tn About 8 years ago, she underwent a hysterectomy, which she hoped would alleviate her migraine pain since they seemed to be related to her menstrual cycle. However, her migraines persist in a similar pattern occuring almost every month. She is not taking any hormone therapy. I am wondering what could be causing her migraines to continue, and were they even related to her menstrual cycle to begin with? Could her migrains have anything to do with the tubal ligation?
Avatar f tn In the last six months, I have been getting severe headaches during the first one top two days of my menstrual cycle. I am 35 years old, and I have never experienced pain this severe. Tylenol and Ibuprophen usually works any other time, although I rarely have to take medicine, but with my menstrual headaches nothing seems work at all. I empathize with you, I don't know why this is going on either. I suppose it could be a hormone issue, since its menstrual related.
Avatar f tn Headaches in women, particularly migraines, have been related to changes in the levels of the female hormone estrogen during a woman's menstrual cycle. Estrogen levels drop immediately before the start of the menstrual flow. Premenstrual migraines regularly occur during or after the time when the female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, decrease to their lowest levels.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
920032 tn?1550680156 when i was younger the 2 days leading up to my menstrual cycle became stressful for me as those 2 days were the worst for my asthma.
1663373 tn?1333635989 Before I found out I had chiari my bad headaches always coincided with my menstrual cycle. I am almost 4 mo post op from decompression surgery. My neck is almost fully recovered I still continue to have minor headaches everyday but hadn't had a huge headache or migraine until 2 days ago. I am recovering from a 2 day mind blowing migraine that also is related to my cycle. I am coming to the conclusion that I am lucky enough (trying to be positive!) to have chiari and hormone headaches.
1673736 tn?1304180812 o female and have chronic pain from scar tissue in my lungs. I have had migraines since I was 16 years old. They come with my menstrual cycle. This week, I have had and still have a migraine for two straight days. It started off with a very bad one the other morning where I kept vomiting and it hurt like crazy. Nothing would help and I couldn't hold still. I have preventative meds to take and others but when mine get full blown there is nothing I can do about it except ride it out.
768044 tn?1294223436 every time I get one, I swear that it has nothing to do with a migraine... but my migraine medication (zomig) seems to do something although I quite often need to take it in combination with much more serious prescription pain killers. My menstrual migraines almost feel more like tension headaches... or hangover headaches... they aren't situated around one eye like usual... although after hours the pain can sometimes localize around one eye or the other...
Avatar f tn It says that Progesterone is a hormone prevalent in a womans body during menstrual cycle and during pregnancy. Progesterone is elevated in the second half of the menstrual cycle and drops to very low levels right before the pre-menstrual period. In my case Im guessing it is not raising high enough for me.
Avatar f tn I do have an anxiety disorder but Ive been feeling heavier anxiety than usual for the past 2 days and I just got my period yesterday so Im wondering if that could be related to my menstral cycle due to increased hormones, etc. Ive been experiencing shortness of breath, nervousness, and some some light headiness.
Avatar f tn II am trying to pin-point which of my female hormones is out of whack and causing, or at least contributing, to such terrible weekly Migraine headaches. Anyone know a good BC pill for individuals with severe, chronic Migraine headaches during ovulation AND menstruation? I am 29 yrs old, average weight, in fair health, have never been pregnant, and started my period at age 11.
Avatar f tn Here recently I have been having some issues with my menstrual cycle. I bled for 3 weeks. Stopped for a week and a half. Started again for another week. Was off for a week. And just today I started bleeding again. I have recently tested negative for all STIs. I'm not sure what is going on here. This is highly unusual.
1132246 tn?1260288259 Although it has not been approved by the FDA yet (it should be next year), you can also taken Frova PRIOR to the beginning of your menstrual migraine as long as you always get a menstrual migraine with your periods and as long as your periods are regular. If you track your periods and know when they start, then you can start Frova the day before your period and take it on a daily basis for a few days for the beginning of your period (how many days is up to your doctor...
Avatar n tn You should not be in the hands of a doctor who has never even heard of vomiting related to the menstrual cycle.
Avatar f tn I would like to see a tracker that covers the whole female menstrual cycle including mood, fatigue, water retention, weight, bleeding, pain. This would help me assess whether some of my difficulties are related to hormones although not obvious PMS.
