1722885 tn?1309474656 The most common causes are usually problems with the reproductive organs or problems with hormone levels, though it seems your hormone levels are fine as they already checked that. Some medications and birth control can cause you to not have a period as well. A low body weight or obesity can cause your period to cease or never even begin. Excessive exercise can cause this as well. PCOS, thyroid problems, and issues with your pituitary gland can cause Amenorrhea.
Avatar f tn If there is no change then see your doctor with your menstrual cycle chart so that he can check out your hormone levels. It could be stress related, but also if you are anaemic that too can mess up your cycle. With anaemia you can get very heavy periods, or periods will cease. Make sure you eat a healthy and balanced diet. Best wishes.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
586373 tn?1312031791 Thanks for the suggestion. We'll be adding the ability to mark items on your chart in the near future. When that feature launches, you'll be able to mark the beginning of each menstrual cycle. Since other women may not find it necessary, it'll be at your discretion. We'll let you know when it's available.
570004 tn?1226980196 Over the past several months (since about July – a month or two after I started on levothyroxine) I've noticed that my menstrual cycle is about a week shorter than it used to be. It was about 36 days before, but now it seems to be about 28 days at most - if anything it's getting shorter; not going back to the way it was before. Does anyone know if this is normal / related to hypothyroidism? I am 31 years old. Thank you.
1287560 tn?1272216521 Yes I will, a locum dr rang back this morning and said these levels are of someone late in their cycle and that I should have a period soon , these bloods were done 5 days ago and no period. I havnt had a menstrual cycle for ages but do produce eggs and must ovulate sometimes hence having our son. havnt taken a hpt as really dont think i could be pregnant and would be too early to show anyway. will wait another 10 days and see if i get an af.
Avatar f tn The temps will remain high for a period usually 12 to 16 days until they drop again (either the day before or the day of) when your cycle ends and menstrual period begins. If conception occurs temperatures will remain high during the entire pregnancy. Third Phase Temps Many women experience a third phase (Triphasic Phase) which is temperatures climbing to yet another level that is approximately 3/10's - 4/10's over the Luteal Phase high.
1859662 tn?1320091625 ll probably want a few copies of the blank chart because it will take at least a cycle or two to figure out your ovulation pattern.   Before ovulation, your BBT probably ranges from 97.2 to about 97.7 degrees Fahrenheit. But two or three days after you ovulate, hormonal changes cause a rise of 0.4 to 1.0 degree in your BBT, which lasts at least until your next period.
Avatar n tn Perhaps you could make an appointment with a different doctor regarding your concerns and show him the menstrual cycle chart. It is a very good idea to keep a cycle chart as well as how your feel mentally and physically. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn STOP worrying yourself sick and make an urgent appointment to see your doctor. Take your menstrual cycle chart and explain to him/her how things have been. Let me know how you get on. Best wishes.
20922415 tn?1661860103 It is the main and vital hormone that plays a significant role in menstrual cycle health preparing the body for conception and development of pregnancy. 1. Progesterone throughout the cycle: During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month.
1582332 tn?1296924865 And I have always had bad cramps but now I have large blood clots I really think this messes with hormone levels which has to mess with the cycle. And like they said. It could even have an autoimmune trigger too.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 17 years old, I'm a virgin. However, I had a last menstrual period in the middle of May. I still did not get the next period. I had a pain in the uterus from the last period, but only every few days and like always before the start of the period. Breast pain also occurs every few days but again not as much as ever before menstruation. What could be the reason for the delay over a monthly period?
Avatar f tn BUT with my first pregnancy, my levels were really low. My doctor went by the first day of my last menstrual cycle. If I did that this time. I would be 7 weeks 5 days. Dies this make any sense? Is it possible to be further along than my hcg levels show? I'm getting a new doctor and wonder if they will go by levels or last period.
Avatar f tn I have been on my menstrual cycle for 3 weeks now and i'm starting to get worried. Should I be? I was in the hospital recently with an abscess in my throat and the day after I was released I started my period and it is now 3 weeks later and I am still bleeding and passing alot of clots. A friend told me it could be my body getting rid of all that infection from when I was in the hospital. I am still worried though. Can you give me some advice?? PLEASE????
Avatar f tn s always been heavy (bled through tampons, overnight pads, flooded menstrual cups within 2-3 hours) with a lot of clots ranging from pea size to golf ball size and severe cramping that even with pain meds has me lying in bed. Bleeding lasts 8-12 days. I have tried multiple types of birth control (combined hormones and progesterone only) and always have breakthrough bleeding that is just as heavy as my period. Last time I was on birth control, I bled for 22 days straight.
