Avatar f tn I get such severe menstrual cramps every month and it's unbearable.. I started this morning and have already taken my prescription pain medication, but it's not working. I'm wearing a heating pad which slightly helps. I do all the "home remedies", though I'm still in pain! What else can I do for pain management?? I have an appointment with my gyno in a week and a half, but today and tomorrow I have the extreme pain and want to do something to stop it now. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I cramped from weeks 5-10 perfectly normal! I'm 36+2 now with a healthy baby boy!
Avatar f tn I never needed it but for the first two days of my period. Advil is not a pain reliever or pain medicine, it is a muscle relaxer, basically. In other words, it blocks the prostaglandin that cause muscles to cramp, so they don't cramp. That's why it is so good for menstrual cramps. I don't recommend pain pills or opiates for period pain, but Advil can be just the thing.
Avatar f tn Hello. I'm 22 years old and for the last few years (since about 16), I've been getting cycles that last from 3-4 months. During this time the pain is so horrible that I can't even move without screaming. Also, I've been getting blood clots the size of my fist, sometimes larger. I will tell you I'm still a virgin. Plus when my period finally leaves, I still get cramps and bloating that hurt tremendously, and I get full at meals very quickly.
Avatar f tn Within that week the symptons that I been experiencing were bloating, sore breast and back aches. I recently been experiencing menstrual cramps off and on for three days. Is the menstrual cramps a sign of pregnacy? I am due to take my blood test June 10th 2008. I am praying that this will work. In the beginning, I was kind of disappointed that only one egg fertilized but when I found out that I had a healthy embryo it restored my hope.
1395422 tn?1308016251 Everyone woman knows what a menstrual cramp is. It may come as a surprise to many that menstrual cramps have another name. The medical term for these abdominal and pelvic pains is “dysmenorrhea”. More than 50% of women are affected each month by a certain degree of dysmenorrhea, and 15% of those women are experiencing severe cramping. Isn’t this PMS?
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I have a question about menstrual cramps, and any help would be appreciated. I have been suffering extremely painful cramps for years now, ever since I got my first period when I was 13. I'm currently 18 and am going off to college very soon, but I have no idea how to deal with these cramps that incapacitate me for an entire day. My cramps get so bad that I usually faint. For example, when I was around 14 my period came in the morning but I still went to school.
1267061 tn?1271122594 I am 34 weeks and have been getting menstrual like cramps around 31 weeks. At 32 weeks they were so bad at one point I called my OB because they were coming quite frequently. I sat down and drank some water and they only came again every now and then. They told me it was just Braxton Hix and nothing to worry about unless they became regular and/or more than four in an hour after I got off my feet. Does your whole belly tighten up when it happens?
Avatar m tn I am wishing and crossing my fingers terribly that these are my usual menstrual symptoms -- white discharge, abdominal cramps, irritability, sometimes feeling constipated. What do you say?
10052131 tn?1408085538 Felt like menstrual cramps. Had no bleeding at all. Past two days the cramping stopped completely. I literally feel great! I'm almost 6 weeks. Other than a headache randomly, frequent peeing because of my water drinking, and being bloated, is this normal to feel this great lol. ahhhhh!!
Avatar n tn Im on week 31 and get the same symptoms i noticed drinking water and stretching helps alot. If not i take a nice "warm" shower (NOT hot) and it seems to relieve the pain. But they do say menstrual cramps are a sign of labor contractions but my doctor said if its not consistant its most likely false contractions or your bodies way of preparing its self for labor.
170935 tn?1225371076 Sharp twinges/cramping on one side/dull cramping accross the lower abdomen are normal in early pregnancy, mine was SO bad, it felt just like menstrual cramps. Your uterus is stretching to accomodate the baby, it's called round ligament pain and it's completely normal. As long as the pain doesn't become unbareable I wouldn't worry about it, always mention things like this to your doctor though.
1170694 tn?1285097509 re experiencing happens to a lot of woman, including myself. Before the start of my menstrual cycle, during my menstrual cycle and right after my menstrual cycle I get really sick with nausea, diarrhea and sometimes even cramps as well. Since there is usually an unbalance in our hormones all kinds of sicknesses can occur.
Avatar f tn I'm 20 weeks. And these past couple of days I've been getting menstrual cramps and some type of pain (feels like needles poking me) inside my vagina and lower back pain. Should I be worried? I had an appt today but it was so quick like 5 min. He didn't even measure her. I'm switching to a midwife. It's a bearable pain but I just want to be sure its nothing.
Avatar f tn m 40 years old, and judging by my older sisters and mother, I likely have another 11-12 years before menopause. Over the last year or two, my menstrual cramps have gotten much worse. I get chills and shakes, aches in my joints, nausea, headache, and massive cramps. I've tried heating pads, lots of fluids, bed rest, Aleve, and other OTC pain relief. I went to see a new midwife for my last annual about 18 mo ago and forgot to mention it to her, then felt embarrassed to call in about it.
Avatar f tn I am 18 weeks and have been having menstrual like cramps low in my abdomen on and off, along with discharge daily. (sorry TMI) I've read that these symptoms are normal, but I had low amniotic fluid with my last pregnancy and am just paranoid at this point. Anyone else have these symptoms?
1161702 tn?1277413731 I have been going through this since I was 12 and I'm 18 now. That is way too long for me. When I get my monthly menstrual, like on the second day I get really sick and vomit a lot. I have really bad cramps too...After the second day of my menstrual with the vomitting and stuff, I'm usually pretty okay. But my cramps last just about my whole period, my period is 7 days and I cramp for like 4/5 days striaght.
1577200 tn?1331725719 maybe sound crazy but I have an odd-ball question concerning menstrual cramps and how they compare to it?
Avatar m tn hi. i have horrible, horrible menstrual cramps. because i also get very bad headaches, i do not tolerate the birth control pill. i don't know what to do. neither do my gynecologists. i have tried all of the main anti-inflammatories and even narcotics, but nothing seems to work. there is nothing wrong with my reproductive system or anything, i just get horrible, horrible cramps.
Avatar f tn I am 22+2 and have been experiencing cramps reminiscent of mild menstrual cramps for the last few days. They would happen thoughout the day and always very low, right around the pubic none. Turned out to be a UTI. I didn't have any other symptoms of a UTI. Probably be good to get checked out by your doc.
Avatar f tn I was shocked when I got my + I had cramps 2 days before expected period and a week after felt like mild menstrual cramps with no blood.
