The worst menstrual cramps you'll ever have in your life, pain can spread to your back. You can't talk or think during them. They will also come frequently (like every 5 mins, then 3 mins, etc.

Two Kinds of Cramps Women have been dividing menstrual cramps into categories since the beginning of time: bearable and miserable. I'm 26+3 and two days ago I was cramping, it just felt like a constant lower back pain and some menstrual cramps. I thought maybe I was having growing pains or braxton Hicks but after 10 hours I decided to go to hospital. I was indeed contracting and had to get two shots to stop them. So just go with your instints.
How far along are you? At 30wks I went to dr & hospital for having really bad cramps & back pain and I ended up getting monitored all day & they said I was having uterine irritability (mini contractions) & they had to give me a preterm labor shot. They said it could've been brought on by dehydration or bacterial vaginosis (an infection I had at the time).
Mine felt like menstrual cramps, and then it felt like I had to have BM, so keep an eye on it!
33 weeks 3 days pregnant. having a lot of menstrual like cramps. is this normal or am I having preterm labor?
Hey ladies, Ok I am 18wks prego, and I am experiencing some really really really really bad menstrual like cramps. I never been a one to have cramps while on my cycle but its is very unbearable! I am 29 weeks and spent the night in labor and delivery last night getting checked out, because I have had constant menstrual cramps since about 7pm last night. These are NOT ligament pains - I've had those too and these are NOT on the sides at all, it is very centered and concentrated around my lower uterus. They haven't gone away, but sometimes they are worse then others. I don't think they're braxton hicks, because those are supposed to come and go and only last for a few minutes.
I am 31 weeks and have been experencing what feels like menstrual cramps, sharp pains around my belly button and my pelvic area. I have had a huge increase in my feet and legs swelling and a increase in urination and bowel movements. my last doctor appt I was 30 weeks and my doctor said the baby had already dropped. I am a first time mom and dont know what to be expecting from these symptoms. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
30 pm with severe menstrual like cramps and bleeding pretty bad so I called the hospital and they said come in so I got there at 1 pm and was hooked up to the contractions machine she told me I wasn't contracting even though I know I was anyway she said they'd check me just in case so at 1:30 they checked me for dilation and I was dilated to 5 cm at 2 pm when they checked me I was 8 cm! my contractions just felt like really strong period cramps.
is anyone else afraid they are going to overlook labor pains? I'm 37 wks and dilated to 2cm and ny Dr asked if I've been having a lot of painful cramps and I told him no. He looked at me funny like I should have felt it when I started to dilate. I'm afraid I will overlook labor pains because all the cramps feel the same to me.
is there an OTC pain reliever that I can use for my menstrual cramps while I am experiencing ulcer-like symptoms? If not, what are the best alternatives? The first 2 days are always just awful, and before I usually took 6 advil gelcaps throughout the day for the first 2 days. Thank you!
Mine was horrible pains in my back that came in waves and made my pelvis feel like it was being shattered. They would come every few minutes and felt like menstrual cramps on steriods. They took my breath away. If they subside or get better when you change position then they probably are bh. But i would time them and possibly call the ob.
Many women do get sick right before delivery and most of the symptoms you describe are predecessors to labor ie the leaky boobs, menstrual cramps, discharge and diarrhea. I've typically had cake pregnancies and then feel like garbage the last couple weeks. This one is no different. Think it's God's incentive to make us push! Lol Good luck ladies- our new babies are coming soon!
she said it could be a bladder infe tion when i told her its not that i feel bck pain n menstrual cramps plus pressure.... i just dnt have any vomitting...
If any of you went to the hospital and it ended up being false labor, when you did finally go into real labor, was it much different from false labor?? Please share your stories with me.. I really wanna know!! Since 29wks there has been much concern about me going into preterm labor.. now I'm over 36wks and still nothing.. I was all prepared to wait it out till 40wks or later if I had to, but all this anticipation is getting me so anxious..
I am just curious if contractions always have to tense up your uterus at the onset of labor? i have been getting menstrual like cramps for about an hour now off and on at about 5 min apart and they are getting a little more uncomfortable as time goes on I'm doing nothing but laying in bed on the computer so its not due to any activity. my dr wants me to go into labor asap because if you were to look at me you would think i am only 5-6 months pregnant cuz i am TINY!
I find that they sometimes feel like menstrual cramps mostly on the right side sometimes on the left. I had gone into the hospital on Sunday to get checked because I had them constantly all day.
my ob told me as long as the pains are not like menstrual cramps, then everything should be fine. If you get a lot of menstrual like cramps, it could mean that you are having uterine contractions, and you should notify your ob of it. Honestly speaking, I don't even know what a labor contraction jis supposed feels like.
Hello all - I'm almost 36 wks - having dull, almost constant back pain across my coxycs with sporadic light menstrual like cramps. Also slight increase in discharge - but no blood - what do you all think?
my doctor told me cramps are normal just body preparing for labor. I started to get cramps at 35 weeks and I went in for cramps and got checked to see if I had a bladder infection but I didn't.
I usually get cramps few days to a week before I start. So was surprised. I find that my periods come when they want to. I use to be able to know about when they'd come, but as I've gotten older they've changed.
So last night i had what felt like bad gas pains and mild menstrual-like cramps..not very painful, more uncomfortable than anything. woke up this morning and wasn't hurting so i told my hubby it was a false alarm. i was googling what contractions felt like just outta curiosity, when all of a sudden i feel a pop and my water breaks. it took 15 mins to get to my hospital, and 15 more to get me in a room and nurse checks me and says I'm 8cm already and can't get any meds.
For about an hour, I got these intermittent menstrual-like vaginal cramps, or should I call it pain or mild contraction in rhythmic pulse. Since week 4 of pregnancy, I have been told of vaginal bacteria which could cause preterm-labor or late miscarriage in in 2nd trimester. After 2 treatments, my symptoms did not go away, consequently getting itches there instead. Doctor told me the last visit to try 'no treatment' instead to see if it'll naturally resolves itself.
I agree with above. I was in L&D 2 days ago due to severe menstrual like cramps and they were keeping my focus that I didn't even notice I was having contractions every 2-3 min apart. It could be something as simple as that. It could be round ligament pains. Better safe though. Specially since you were dilated to 3 already, this could be it! If you want, take a 15 min warm bath and see if it helps. If it doesn't, go in. Worse case scenario, you will relax a bit before going in, right?
