Menstrual cramps labor pains

Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual cramps labor pains

I will be 38 weeks Friday. And today I've bee n having menstrual like cramps in my lower back. Anyone can relate? Or know if this is pre labor?
I am 35 weeks tomorrow with baby #1. Been having menstrual like cramps in my lower back and lower belly/pelvic area. It started not last night, but the night before. Occasionally it gets painful and sharp pains spread up towards my belly button. When they aren't the sharp pains that go up higher, it's just a dull ache like the period cramps. But the cramps have been pretty constant for the past hour or so. I know I'm not in labor yet, but could this the beginning signs?
Prostaglandin (PGF2alpha) is given to women to induce labor. Two Kinds of Cramps Women have been dividing menstrual cramps into categories since the beginning of time: bearable and miserable. Meanwhile, the medical world has had them split into primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. The mildest form of menstrual cramps are sometimes just a minor discomfort, a heavy feeling in the abdominal region.
I'm 26+3 and two days ago I was cramping, it just felt like a constant lower back pain and some menstrual cramps. I thought maybe I was having growing pains or braxton Hicks but after 10 hours I decided to go to hospital. I was indeed contracting and had to get two shots to stop them. So just go with your instints.
How far along are you? At 30wks I went to dr & hospital for having really bad cramps & back pain and I ended up getting monitored all day & they said I was having uterine irritability (mini contractions) & they had to give me a preterm labor shot. They said it could've been brought on by dehydration or bacterial vaginosis (an infection I had at the time).
It all started off with sharp, really strong menstrual like cramps and some pressure. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck momma!
Have you timed them once they get regular is the best way to know you're in labor.
The worst menstrual cramps you'll ever have in your life, pain can spread to your back. You can't talk or think during them. You will most likely have one position you just wanna stay in cause its comforting to you. That's how I was. They start of mild then get worse over time. They will also come frequently (like every 5 mins, then 3 mins, etc.
Mine felt like menstrual cramps, and then it felt like I had to have BM, so keep an eye on it!
So these started yesterday have stayed around 30 min apart the only thing that has worsen is the hap pain on my right side its my tail bone to my hip and seriously thats eorser then the contraction like cramps or whatever it is im feeling lol. the pains are about 15-20 apart but i seriously have nooooo idea what is happening. This is my 4th pregnancy but not familiar with these pains. My daughter was a couple weeks early but not this early. Could i be in preterm labor or am i just panicking ?

Hey ladies, Ok I am 18wks prego, and I am experiencing some really really really really bad menstrual like cramps. I never been a one to have cramps while on my cycle but its is very unbearable! I am 29 weeks and spent the night in labor and delivery last night getting checked out, because I have had constant menstrual cramps since about 7pm last night. These are NOT ligament pains - I've had those too and these are NOT on the sides at all, it is very centered and concentrated around my lower uterus. They haven't gone away, but sometimes they are worse then others. I don't think they're braxton hicks, because those are supposed to come and go and only last for a few minutes.
This might be a really stupid question but how bad is the labor pains? I'm a FTM and have 20 days left till my due date and I'm kind of getting anxious and scared...
how long they last and how far apart they are. From what ive heard contractions can feel like menstrual cramps and/or lower back pains. if they are getting closer together and more intense- call your doctor!!
Contractions feel like severe menstrual cramps.
Is there an OTC pain reliever that I can use for my menstrual cramps while I am experiencing ulcer-like symptoms? If not, what are the best alternatives? The first 2 days are always just awful, and before I usually took 6 advil gelcaps throughout the day for the first 2 days. Thank you!
I am due in about 20 days and keep having sharp pains in my lower abdomen that feel like period cramps. Is there something I should be worried about? 2. I am having really bad itching in my downstairs area there's no bad smell or discharge or anything it just feels really kinda dry and itchy. I don't have any STDs or anything but has anyone had anything similar?
Less than 35 weeks it can be preterm labor. But the pain would feel like menstrual cramps and they would come closer and stronger . . .
So I am 37 weeks+ 5days. I've been having dull lower abdominal pains and some menstrual like cramps. I was also on the toilet for almost 5 minutes with continuous diarrhea. (TMI, I know) Is this early labor?? I was at the doctors just yesterday and I'm only 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I just don't know what to do...
I find that they sometimes feel like menstrual cramps mostly on the right side sometimes on the left. I had gone into the hospital on Sunday to get checked because I had them constantly all day.
I am 31 weeks and have been experencing what feels like menstrual cramps, sharp pains around my belly button and my pelvic area. I have had a huge increase in my feet and legs swelling and a increase in urination and bowel movements. My last doctor appt I was 30 weeks and my doctor said the baby had already dropped. But then they stop for a there not consistant. They feel like menstrual cramps, i havent timed them when i do have them they dont seem to be too intense so i feel like it would be pointless to call my doctor. My problem is im a ftm and dont know what to feel or experience, my doctor makes me feel like its a bother when i call and ask questions..
