Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual cramps food allergy

Avatar f tn ve noticed that movement as simple as walking for an hour or strenuous workouts causes me menstrual like cramps, nausea, and headaches. I've been watching what I eat and have tried cutting out certain foods, but nothing seems to make a difference. My period makes it unbearable, which we've now stopped with the pill. What can this be? What doctor should I see? My ob says she wants to wait to see if I'm in pain another 4 months before referring to a surgeon for endometriosis.
Avatar n tn You can check whether you have allergy towards some other allergens you are exposed to (dust, pollens, food allergy, high humidity etc.). Once you point out a allergen, the further exposure should be avoided. If this doesn't work, if there is allergy to tylenol, you can go for combination of mefenamic acid with dicyclomine after consultation from gynecologist. This will sure help as they are very effective in relieving the symptoms. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Worse than menstrual cramps, and reminded me of when I was experiencing contractions from labor. The pain radiated to my lower back also. The pain has been off and on for a whole week now, with some days being better than others. It gets a lot worse if I'm even the slightest bit hungry, and as soon as I eat the cramps stop. I assumed it was food poisoning since this all started immediately after my meal on Monday, but I've never heard of it causing cramps for a week straight! Any ideas?
1572688 tn?1295824230 I would see a gastroenterologist and have gall bladder ruled out and also an upper GI to make sure there is nothing else going on. Also, a food allergy panel for dairy products would be good to have as well to see if you are indeed allergic to those types of foods.
Avatar m tn Well, yes, a medication can be a trigger. I don't see why not, because I have allergies and sensitivities to a lot of different medications myself. By the way, you don't have to have an actual allergy for the food to be the trigger. It can be a food sensitivity, which is like a hidden food allergy. It's the same way with a medication bothering a person without the person having an actual allergy to the medication. The side effects can just be too bothersome to deal with.
Avatar f tn So for the past three years I have been experiencing "spells" of cold chills with a combination of nausea and diarrhea. These symptoms only happen once I have laid down for bed and last from 40 minutes to 3 hours. The chills are the worst part-and shake my whole body. They seem to happen before my menstrual period (if that makes a difference) and appear about once every other month to once every three months. I am so confused at what can be causing them.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was wondering a few days ago I had light pink blood when I wipe using the restroom off and on for maybe 2 to 3 days along with menstrual like cramps and the cramps have not gone away but every once awhile I had really bad sharp knife like pains that last maybe 30 seconds off and on. The cramps been going on for 5 days, sometimes I feel it all through my private area.
Avatar m tn com/health/milk-allergy/DS01008 See a doctor or allergist if you experience food allergy symptoms shortly after eating. If possible, see your doctor when the allergic reaction is occurring. This will aid in making a diagnosis. Let us know if you need any other information and post us about what your doctor advises. Regards.
Avatar f tn I've finally given in and resorted to these forum sites. 10 doctors have either misdiagnosed me or just said they had no idea. My symptoms: chronic constipation with no relief, bloating, gas, cramps, nausea, indigestion. It's impossible for me to burp. I only have a BM about once a week. Unless I'm on my menstrual cycle then I have a movement like three times a day. That's the only time I see my abs. The other 3 weeks I'm a rock hard balloon.
Avatar m tn In 100 patients it can accurately tell that 50 people are having allergy to particular food. Sometimes commercial extracts of fruits and vegetables are inadequate because the responsible allergen may be labile and altered during processing. One thing we can be sure that if the tests are negative, it means that there are no raised IgE levels in the body.

976589 tn?1255609465 I have a dry patch of skin on my left arm. I think I have a food allergy, but not sure. I've been unable to pinpoint exactly which foods cause a more severe rash. Could this be eczema?
Avatar n tn After blood tests and skin tests - all the results were negative. The allergiest said it could be an allergy to a food additive or preservative? I continued to avoid seafood anyway and didn't have any problems for several months. However, last week I ate a hamburger with mushrooms and cheese and had a similar reaction. No facial numbness but extreme dizziness and breathing difficulty. I have an epipen but have never used it.
