Menstrual cramps and diarrhea

Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual cramps and diarrhea

menstrual-cycle

Not sure if this is just normal but since 3 this afternoon I've been getting diarrhea type cramps and menstrual type cramps that are getting stronger with time. They don't go away with changing position or anything. Im 33 weeks. Any advice?
maybe sound crazy but I have an odd-ball question concerning menstrual cramps and how they compare to it?
Meanwhile, the medical world has had them split into primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. The mildest form of menstrual cramps are sometimes just a minor discomfort, a heavy feeling in the abdominal region. Women suffering the most extreme menstrual cramps are sometimes forced to change their regular routine for a few days. In primary dysmenorrhea, there is no underlying physical condition causing the pain.
I've been having these painful cramps for almost a week now, without vomiting or diarrhea. They almost feel like menstrual cramps - in the back - except for they are higher up, and all through out my midsection. I have never had menstrual cramps that felt like this, and I'm not near my period. I would say it's similar to the feeling you get when you have diarrhea, but I'm going to the bathroom as usual, no constipation either. They are becoming increasingly more painful and it's kind of scary.
I wondered about IBS but I have no other problems but this one, and it seems that IBS often involves diarrhea and constipation. No gall bladder problems. No menstrual issues, never had kids. No family history of this as far as I know. I am seeing my PCP soon but in the meantime was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if you have any ideas as to what might be causing it. Thank you very much.
Avoid magnesium carbonate, sulfate, gluconate, and oxide. They are poorly absorbed (and the cheapest and most common forms found in supplements). Side effects from too much magnesium include diarrhea, which can be avoided if you switch to magnesium glycinate. Most minerals are best taken as a team with other minerals in a multi-mineral formula. Taking a hot bath with Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is a good way to absorb and get much needed magnesium.
And actually, lately its been really hard for me to sleep too, so i dont know whats going on. i've also had menstrual cramps, and i'm suppossed to start my period next wednesday, so i made sure to buy the two pack of tests so i can test again if i miss my period.
Recently, the past 5-7 days, I have been experiencing some uncomfortable cramps, soft of like heavy menstrual cramps accompanied by bad diarrhea. I am now 35 weeks pregnant, I was just curious if anyone else experienced this in the last few weeks of their pregnancy, if it is normal and pregnancy related or if I have just come down with a bug that is unrelated to the pregnancy.
I have been having these cramps/contractions, dull lower back ache, increased vaginal discharge, and diarrhea all this morning. I don't know what early labor feels like. I just know I am uncomfortable. I have lost pieces of my mucous plug over the past 2 weeks. Now I find out I am dilating. Is this labor? I understand it's normal to cramp/contract slightly after a cervical exam, but for two days+. It seems odd to me. Any support???
I am 29 years old (almost 30 and I am having what feel like menstrual cramps that don't seem to last all day--mostly at night. These started about 10 days ago--way before my period. I have felt a bit constipated as well, but today I have what feels like stomach cramps with diarrhea. I may also be pregnant, as I know that you can have "implantation cramps" and my breasts feel sore. I will be doing a home pregnancy test tomorrow morning.
I'm 27 and am noticing that every month my cramps get worse and worse so bad that I can't walk and even breathing hurts needless to say I can't move. I had a cyst rupture on one of my ovarys 2 years ago putting me in the worst pain ever. The pains I have now are similar but don't last as long as my ruptured cyst did, what could be happening in my body to make my cramps hurt this bad every month?!?! Please help!!!
i have had bleeding for 3 months and have bad cramps and blood clots and stopped bleeding for 10 days in that 3 months finly stopped 1 day well should i say more im waiting 1 more mounth then ???????????
I have very painful menstrual cramps to the point where I can't go to class and I have to curl up in a ball and wait it out in bed. My lower back hurts, I get diarrhea, I feel sore and bloated all over. My periods are regular and I see a gynecologist (she doesn't answer my questions though, I guess it's time to switch to a new doctor).
My intestines often get disturbed for my period, and I can end up with gas and diarrhea. And gas pain can feel like getting stabbed in the gut. Especially since you mentioned nausea and having to poop, I suspect this is part of the problem. I used to take 800 mg of ibuprofen to deal with my cramps, because without pain killers I wanted to curl up and disappear. Birth control pills might be the way to go for you. They can seriously lower cramp pain and the amount of bleeding.
Which helped me feel a little better but after about three bites of banana bread I got intense stomach cramps and diarrhea. Is this from the fasting?
of cold chills with a combination of nausea and diarrhea. These symptoms only happen once I have laid down for bed and last from 40 minutes to 3 hours. The chills are the worst part-and shake my whole body. They seem to happen before my menstrual period (if that makes a difference) and appear about once every other month to once every three months. I am so confused at what can be causing them. I don't know if it is a food allergy, or hormone related, or anxiety related.
First I thought I was pregnant but home test came back negative three times and now i have no idea what is wrong with me. The pain feels like the worst menstrual cramps you could ever imagine. Makes giving birth look like nothing. The cramps come and go. I also have nausea and diarrhea. I have also noticed my stomach tightening when the pain gets really bad. I have had a colonoscopy already to rule anything from that out.
From the cycle itself I still encounter the terrible pain, which causes nausea, which somehow leads to fatigue, and I also have horrible diarrhea to boot. I was put on the pill, but my doctor now does not recommend ANY kind of hormonal birth control because of how depressed/angry/crazy it made me. It did help my cycles, though. I have tried everything I can think of.
30 am this past Sunday with stomach/abdominal cramps. After I got up I took Ibuprofen and ate toast and the pain nearly went completely away the rest of the day. the pain came back just very mildly that evening and I took more Ibuprofen and was able to sleep all night with no pain. On Monday I had just 1 or 2 mild cramps and thought I was fine and over this then 10 minutes after I went to bed Monday night the cramping was back nearly as bad as the pain I woke up with Sunday morning.
It did seem to help a little a did relieve most of the diarrhea but the cramps and back pain did not subside. I had irregular periods and I am on the last week of my bc pill so I SHOULD be starting soon however I started spotting last night and it got a little heavier today but still not like a period flow.
It may be associated with other symptoms like diarrhea, bloating sharp rectal pain and abdominal cramps. It is best to get yourself evaluated by your gynecologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. I do hope it helps. Take care and best regards!
About 4 months ago, I had a cup of Swiss Miss chocolate hot drink and within 10 minutes had nausea and severe stomach cramps. After vomiting I felt much better. Obviously, I have stayed away from Swiss Miss. Lately, however, on occasion, after eating something fried (pancakes, for instance) I again have the cramping, naseua and vomiting. I'm hoping it's not something horrible like colon cancer. My friend, Amy suggested Irritable Bowl Syndrome as the culprit.
However, AS the day and night wore on I felt like I had cramps and pain. I have had quite a bit of gas and diarrhea.. We shall see what tomorrow brings.. I have decided to work from home and see how the day goes. Oh FYI... Not sure but do be careful what you eat, And I would suggest very small amounts.
I still havent had a menstrual cycle and it has been 5 weeks and 4 days since my miscarriage. We have been married for almost 13 years and we have been together for 19 years and we havent been blessed to have a child yet although we want one very badly. He is to the point after this miscarriage that he said " Im giving up". Im on fertility treatment (Clomid 100mg) and my husband has been tested and has a low sperm count.
loss in blood pressure that I couldn’t even hold my head up, felt like I would pass out; severe stomach cramps and liquid diarrhea, in my case there was no hard stool. I have experienced this problem probably 5 or 6 times in my life and I am 46. Difference today is that I did not eat a thing all day, only 3 cups of coffee over a 2 hr period and this episode occured around noon. In the past I some times felt like vomiting, but today I did not.
It feels like someone has taken hold of the right side of my cervix and they are cutting on it...Not normal menstrual cramps---Sharp but not unbearable...any idea what's going on there??
Around that time, I would get occasional foot cramps and i noticed I was shaking or had muscle tremors when I held things. I ignored it. So as I got older, I was starting to notice my coordination was a little off. If I walked down a tight corridor and another person was walking toward me, I would not realize I would bump into him and I would. Stairs also started to become difficult. I didn't know why but I would be out of breath and my legs felt tired.
Im having period like cramps and my breast are extremely sore!! The cramps have been going on for about a week and im 5 days late. I have had diarrhea for the past 2 days, and some vaginal discharge with no odor or itching. Ive been waking up extremely early in the mornings needing to urinate and nausea comes and goes through the mornings and evenings..
About 1 week later the same thing except this time the bowel movement was diarrhea and the diarrhea lasted a few hours. I have had four episodes in 3 weeks. I went to the doctor today and said the first thing he wants to do is get a stool sample to test for parasites and bacteria. So we'll see. But reading what's been posted I'm going to monitor my diet and see what happens. These episodes are scary and make me panicky which may be making it worse for me...I don't know!!!!
I was Diagnosed and Treated with radioactive Iodine for Graves Disease in the Fall of last year. Since then I have been battling hair loss, weight gain, muscle cramps and extreme tiredness. I recently in May went on the synthroid but haven't had much change except for the muscle cramps have reduced. My question is though, how does taking synthroid effect your periods.
