menstrual cramps and back pain

Hey ladies, I'm 31 weeks and have been having severe cramps and back pain to the point to where I expect to see blood when I use the bathroom. I have a high pain tolerance and on a scale of 1-10 the pain is about an 8 or 9. Is this normal or should I call my docs office? I have an appointment in the morning but I'm really not feeling like laying here in pain today.

Is it normal for lower back pain and menstral like cramps.

Anyone have cramping and back pain that comes and goes? I am at the end of my 6th week and have had menstrual like cramps that come and go. No bleeding or spotting at all. OBGYN had me get bloodwork today....

I had the same problem. Switching sleeping positions or recruiting your partner for a back rub can really help! Watch your posture when sitting up. Also a hot water bottle or heating pad feels great (just like with menstrual cramps). If you don't have one, use an old dish soap bottle and fill with hot water, or take a pouch or old sock and fill with rice, close, knot and heat in the microwave for a couple minutes.

When I fall asleep on my back, my lower back aches when I get up. Tylenol and back rubs help. Those heated pads would probably help also. They were good at relieving menstrual cramps..remember those?

how long they last and how far apart they are. From what ive heard contractions can feel like menstrual cramps and/or lower back pains. if they are getting closer together and more intense- call your doctor!!

I'm 34 weeks and having the strongest menstrual type feeling cramps ever. My Lower back is in so much pain. It's almost unbearable. Should I be concerned? Did anybody experience this before labor?

I'm 31 weeks 4 days and I've been having this really bad back pain that feels like menstrual cramps. I also get the same pain in my lower abdomen as well but it's consistent. There is no rhythm to it so I don't know what to make of it. It hurts pretty bad at times then at others not so much and it's lasted about a week now. My baby is moving just fine and I'm not spotting or anything. I'm a ftm so this is all new to me. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

When you were found out you were pregnant did you still have mild menstrual like pain in your back? B/c That is what I am doing right now and have been for over a week and I am a week late for AF. Thanks!

Since the stellate ganglion block on 3/13, the most concentrated source of back pain has been sharp muscle spasms occurring sporadically along the lower spine and lower-right side of the spine. The rest of the pain has been sore, aching muscles on the left side. I have never had muscle spasms occur on the right of the spine in my back in the past; they have always stayed to the left and on the center of the lower spine.

i get cramps in my back that feel like a charlie horse that you get in ur calfs do u happen to know if this is normal

Currently, as has been the typical presentation felt for the past few years prior to the stellate ganglion injection, the majority of the pain is comprised of an underlying, constant, aching, sharp pain over the entire lower-left quadrant of my back, and muscle spasms cause a stabbing pain in random intervals over the same affected area.

Anyone going through these menstrual like cramps in lower abdominal area and back pain. Kinda feels like u have to poop. Maybe accompanied by contractions.

s how I BBC an define my real ones from Braxton hicks because Braxton hicks start in my stomach but my real ones start as pain in my backs that gets worse and then it wraps around my uterus and my entire stomach hardens and hurts and then after awhile my stomach and uterus start to relax and the pain in my back slowly goes away until the next one happens.

Ok I'm 38+1 and 2.5cm dilated. Right now I'm having pretty uncomfortable lower back pain, it's coming and going, not being any worse though it's the same bad pain. It hurts when I lay down or stand up, kinda subsides when I sit up, but still there. It's been about 30 minutes. Could it be back labor or something else??

Labor contractions are more intense like serious menstrual cramps with back pain... but once you push that baby out all of the pain goes away n its just worth it to see ur baby!!!

ve had terrible lower and middle back pain. It feels similar to back pain I would get before starting my period but amplified a hundred times! It's pretty consistent so I can't time anything but it does ease up at some points. Who has experienced back labor and what did it feel like?

Hello ladies I am a bit concerned... on January I had a molar pregnancy and now I am 9+3 wks pregnant, and I started having contractions and lower back pain. I haven't chosen a doctor, should I go to emergency room or what do I do? I am scared...

This might sound dumb but....If I have really bad cramps and upset stomach I find some relief by having a wintergreen lifesaver/hard candy. Peppermint might work, too. I don't know what it is about it but it would help settle me. You may want to consult a gyno to find out if maybe birth control could help control your symptoms. Best of luck!

Why do the cramps hurt so bad?

Then at 24wks I started getting random uterine contractions that felt like bh but with a menstrual cramp and pain in the back and would take my breath away, even had one in the middle of an ob appointment, he still said it was ok because it was random. At 27wks, I woke up feeling a bit off and occassional menstrual cramps. By lunch I also had intestinal cramps and felt like I needed to have diarrhea so went to the toilet, felt like I couldn't get up for 1.

Okay. I do have low back pain and cramps, but it doesn't feel like contractions, just like a constant achey feeling. I will keep my phone on me today at work.

The best advice I can give you is, take it easy as much as possible. If you are concerned about a possible miscarriage call your doctor, she/he will be able to help you more.
