335728 tn?1331414412 Well today was the last day of our lung function program and a few classes ago we were asked to vote for the person in the class that we felt had come the furthest in the program and had the greatest success. Well the award was handed out today and believe it or not...I got the GOLD MEDAL!!! It is even more precious because I was chosen for this award by my peers rather than the Respiratory Therapists! But that wasn't the best part of the day...

Avatar f tn Hi..... I'm getting back into exercising after my ablation and I'm looking for a combo heart monitor/pedometer watch that isn't too difficult to program or too expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand / type would be good? It doesn't necessarily have to be a women's watch....I would use a men's watch if it has the right features.
Avatar m tn Hi Motorspear: Although this is a great community and it deals with pain, I think your question might be better answered by the "Men's Health Forum". I'm sure that you're not the only one with this problem and other men that post in the Men's Health Forum might be better suited to answer this question. I hope that you find the answer your looking for. Others may post as the day goes on and you might get your anwer here...you never know.
4502619 tn?1355565753 What you MUST do if you don't want to see a personal trainer is buy a book on training exercise another thing to do is go online and subscribe to Men's Health. It's VERY important to learn the proper forms when you exercise so as not to injure yourself. Make sure to check with your doctor first and get his/her OK.
Avatar f tn You can do anything you put your mind to...it's just a matter of how bad you want it. Don't make excuses, everyone can find time to workout. What I do if I don't really want to go workout is ask myself, how will I feel in 2 months if my health has gone downhill because of my laziness? Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn Information on the web about exercise is geared either to young athletic people or to elderly people recovering from health problems. My only health concern is that my doctor says my heart is slightly enlarged but still in the "normal" range -- that is the context of my question, some concern about possible heart problems. I do not have high blood pressure, and a 3D calcium CT test showed no calcium deposits in my coronary arteries. EKG is normal.
Avatar n tn Anything that won't put pressure on your stomach. There are people who lift weights, run marathons, cross country, anything during pregnancy. Its what your body can handle. What a lot of women do is they wait until they get.pregnant to decide to get fit and healthy. But because they didn't workout before they got pregnant, they're limited on what they can do. If you're like that, walk on the treadmill. Cycle, do steps, squats are good. Weighted squats are great.
