Avatar f tn After reading daily all the challenges everyone is going through, the common "I can't take it" statement, I came upon this article in the Men's Health magazine from the doc next door (Dr. Jeffrey T Junig) who advises in the doctor forum of addiction on medhelp. His story has truly inspired me and I hope that it will all of you as well. WARNING !! It can be quite disturbing to some, but it makes you think...if HE overcame all of that.....then surely we can as well.
Avatar n tn run at 6mph for 2 minutes then run at 3mph or rest for 2 minutes) will be more effective in losing weight than if I ran or walked at a steady pace.Is there any truth to this>?
405614 tn?1329144114 I found a great article in AARP magazine (my roommate gets it) about mistakes doctors make, why they make them, and how to help yourself avoid these mistakes. All of us in limboland should be able to relate, and feel a little good that there is such an article in a national magazine. I hope you'll take the time to read it, and enjoy it as much as I did! http://www.aarpmagazine.org/health/why_doctors_make_mistakes.
Avatar m tn I was excited to see this in the recent edition of 'CURE' magazine I received today. It looks like they have already donated over 2 million to finding a cure. Very impressive since it's not one of those 'popular' cancers that get all the funding! http://www.callawaygolf.com/Global/en-US/Corporate/CallawayGolfFoundationWomensCancerInitiative.
Avatar f tn Has anyone read the article in last month's issue of FIRST magazine about chronic sinus inflamation? They are suggesting to put a capsaicin extract in your nasal rinse for better results - I am wondering if anyone has tried it? I am going to take the article to my Allergist this week and see what he says. Any thoughts?
272338 tn?1252280404 I have been recieving Womens Day magazine for quite some time now. I recently recieved my Sept. issue with a subscription renewal notice. I sat down and began reading the magazine, and by the time I finished, I had made up my mind that i would not renew my subscription. I found 2 advertisements regarding breast cancer for figurines that stated the proceeds would go towards the fight against breast cancer. Not one place in the magazine did I see even one mention of Ovarian cancer. Come on!
Avatar n tn So is it safe to assume that as soon as the hiv virus comes into contact with air, then it cannot be transmitted outside of the host? The other day I was buying a magazine and the lady serving me got a papercut on her finger from it, and like less than 30 seconds after she handed it to me, I got a papercut from the same edge. Is there any chance of transmission here, assuming she was HIV+?
Avatar n tn I am a student at San Francisco State university and I am creating a magazine for teen girls with Type 1 Diabetes for my senior thesis project. My sister was diagnosed when she was 5 and now that she's 13, things are getting more difficult. I decided that a magazine aimed specifically at teen girls with diabetes might be helpful. It is going to be almost like a fashion magazine covering issues like eating disorders to politics but in a way that is interesting and accessable.

Avatar m tn You would definitely want to ask your doctor that question. I saw an article in a medical magazine in a hospital waiting room that said that the sperm are a bigger factor in health of a baby than previously realized. Smoking, drinking, poor sleep, poor diet, high stress, and toxins all take a toll on sperm, weakening them. I think it's a great question and worth researching.

867582 tn?1311627397 Hi, MSers, I think its' so interesting that not long after I visited the ER with stroke symptoms (which the ER MD thought could be MS) I received the MSAA's summer edition of their magazine, "The MSAA Motivator" in which in their "Ask The Doctor" section they discussed "can MS Lesions Mimic a Stroke?" It's almost like they were speaking directly to me!!

Avatar n tn Recently he has told me that his penis gets stiff when he watched a girl with scant clothes in a magazine and when he likes someone like a drenched girl in a song. Is this kind of erection awareness and linking it to the cause, normal for a 4 yr old? I have told him it was normal, part of growing up but not to speak abt it to anyone other than mom or dad. but we were freaking out. please let me know if its normal at this age??
Avatar n tn After reading nosydeadkitty's post, I would like to share something here too... I have almost the same experience, you can imagine this nasal problem will disturb your life seriuosly. When you smell something bad, what you do you can run away or just close or cover your nose with fingers; however if the odor smell is from you own nose, you really not able to escape from it...
Avatar m tn http://www.medhelp.org/child-health/articles/The-Vaccine-Autism-Hoax-Why-Didnt-We-Know-Sooner/116 How about that the Lancet is trash magazine which doesn't its prestigious rating. It published a scientific fraudulous article obviously not throughly checked and reviewed or else the reviewers were lazy and incompetent. If the original study had not been published in the Lancet it would have got no attention.

616084 tn?1221069302 back then they had absolutly no treatment here in canada but now i was just reading in a major magazine at the doctors office that they have a treatment that they have tested on people and it seems to work!!! i think it had to do with stem cell injections. yes, injections and it is brand new according to the article. i remember it cause i told my wife about it and we were bothexcited about the breakthrough since my chances of developing ms are increased 50% through genetics.
Avatar n tn Hi, 2 days ago a large magazine fell down from the shelf and hit my head. Since then the area which it had hit has been sore (but no lump has appeared). I have experienced no symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, eyes dilating differently, etc. I do have a shoulder ache but i'm not sure if it's associated with this incident. So my question is, can this bump in the head lead to anything serious? Or is it safe to return to my daily activities?
Avatar f tn Coley, the founder of Sloan-Kettering, and the phenomena has been discussed in several issues of the Scientific America magazine. During the 1920's it was suggested that cancer patients be exposed to infections to cause regression of the malignancies. The killed bacterial vaccines were marketed during the 1930's (specifically to cause tumor regression) by Lily Corp. as the "Coley Toxins".
