Menopause memory issues

Common Questions and Answers about Menopause memory issues

memory

Avatar f tn I am only 52 and having memory issues during my workday. Yesterday and today I have had times I have gotten things turned around and forgot completely what I was supposed to be doing. I have a routine that doesn't vary too much each day, but am a school teacher and on rainy days the schedule fluctuates some and on 2:00 days my daily schedule changes some....Most days are same routine though.
Avatar n tn If menory is memory then it's a big time yes to lapses at least in perimenopause (I haven't made it to menopause quite yet). In addition to the memory issues I've also had problems finding words, I saw it referred to once as "losing one's vowels" and I love that analogy.
Avatar f tn 30 rounds of radiation I am now taking Femara. I am wondering if this drug in any way effects the memory, or thought process. I have been having a lot of memory loss and confusion when speaking. It's like I know what I want to say but sometimes can't seem get the correct words out. Any help would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn I use to have this problem when I was a teenager and through my twenties, and now with my memory issues and focus problems I just feel sad, and scared to try and find another job. I have always just done receptionist jobs, and they have worked out fine for me; I always find a way to adapt. But now I dont know who would hire me since I have a hard time remembering things. Is this a peri menapausal thing?
Avatar n tn Several weeks ago I started noticing that I was spelling words incorrectly, having some difficulty writting on paper (a pause or delay before I start to write), and hitting the wrong keys on the key board. I have been complaining about vocabulary loss for several years, and feel that it has become worse, and my memory has become terrible, I have also had some subtle balance problems.
Avatar n tn Many women say that they’ve done really well with black cohosh or soy supplements, but that’s the crazy thing about menopause issues, what works for some doesn’t seem to help others at all, so sometimes you have to hunt around until you find what works for you. I’ve never tried soy or black cohosh, but both my sister and I have had wonderful results with Wisdom Menopause Formula. I had been on HRT for four months but had to quit because the side effects became unbearable.
Avatar f tn Yup, had this too. After i was diagnosed with thyroid issues and taking meds for it is when the memory fog started. Been like that for about 10 years now. I haven't found anything to curb it or lose it. I have sleep apnea too so that may have something more to do with it for me. Not sure. Wish it would go away though.
963268 tn?1312900315 s attention when I see him in February. I have had memory issues for a while. I have to say, it is scaring me lately. Thanks for your responses! I love all the information I get from everyone here. It is so helpful.
Avatar n tn i had a partial hysterectmy in 1992 i still have both my ovaries i have been to the dr and had a hormone test done and it was normal but i have all the symptoms of menopause except for the exctreme hotflases i have them but they are very very mild and not often, could i be going thru menopause?
Avatar f tn that and along with the use of the (bioidentical only) progesterone will affect the thryoid. Menopause and thyroid issues go hand in hand. Geez...is it just the women in the throws of menopause who know all this? Foggy thinking...trouble concentrating. All can be hormonally related....I have tons of stories to share about this from my own experience and that of my friends. I will go and write a message to you now.
Avatar f tn But it is the decrease in estrogen, particularly Estradiol, that can cause many of the other symptoms... such as bone loss, memory issue, vaginal dryness, word-retrieval issues, fatique, dry eyes, blood sugar issues, joint and bone pain, etc. Low levels of testosterone will cause not only issues regarding libido but also chemical sensitivities, sensitivity to loud noises, bladder issues, and mood.
Avatar f tn does hashimotos also cause early menopause or is there a connection between the two? Over the last 2 years, i have been having worse and worse hot flashes, night sweats, and insomnia along with the fact that my periods have pretty much become nonexistant (1-2 days light instead of 7-8 days HEAVY). I'm starting to get concerned and the hot flashes/insomnia are starting to affect me....
Avatar f tn I have been having hot flashes about two years. The memory thing, mood swings, and insomnia, we cannot judge for I have a TBI and PTSD from injuries I sustained when I was in the military. But I have only missed one period. A doctor, last August, wanted to put me on birth control pills for three months to try to stop my periods. I tried it. It did not work. Now I'm being told I am actually in menopause but my body forgot to quit bleeding? I am scared.
1611972 tn?1299092582 I want to know if any one else suffers from the major memory issues the same way that I do. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Quality and quantity of your eggs is determined by measuring your FSH level. This is the same level that is tested to see if a women is in menopause. If memory serves me, below 10 is considered "child bearing". I had high FSH, usually around 38, so I was classified perimenopausal, which meant poor quality and quantity, one of the more difficult fertility issues to have. I did eventually conceive finding a high fsh friendly RE and doing IVF.
4748604 tn?1358706782 Memory loss can come from many things. ADD/ADHD, Alzheimer's, being oxygen deprived for too long, depression, anxiety, menopause, iron deficiency...the list goes on. You must see a doctor and have testing done in order to figure out what the cause is.
Avatar f tn Bloodwork indicates early menopause. Was not ready to hear that. So down. Was told to monitor for the next 6 months. I don't expect a change though.
Avatar f tn I have a round, chubby, babyish face and often get mistaken for being closer to 19... I mean, menopause? MENOPAUSE?! Any input would be so appreciated. I can't discuss this with ANYONE because every single person that I know gets so uncomfortable discussing miscarriages and anything to do with weight. I just need to talk to someone, ANYONE, at this point because I don't think I can cry anymore.
Avatar n tn hot flashes, severe fatigue, fuzzy mind, short term memory loss, hair thinning, and I go through spells were I have a hard time sleeping. I probably should have done something about this sooner, but I tend to ignore things. I went back for my 6 week check up after the hysterectomy but havent been back to the doctors since. Ok I am ashamed to say I work in a hospital as a Medical Assistant and I should know better. My question is bio or not????
Avatar n tn I am sure he will not be happy with me going off the premarin. Do you think it is possible this is menopause or the beginning I am going through?
15907588 tn?1443880242 I am 41 and dealing with perimenopause, I am having hot flashes (least of my problems) insane brain fog and memory issues (this ***** but whatever) the thing that is horrible for me are the insane rage outbursts and feeling totally out of control. I flip out over everything. I don't understand this and I feel completely out of control. I was prescribed an antidepressant, I don't want to take meds but maybe do a more natural approach. Are these symptoms normal?
Avatar f tn I contacted the doctor and she gave me a RX to try to help with the cycle issues but I want to know if there is something natural I can do to help my body stop this process. I think I am starting Menopause at 39 and with an active family it is about to pull me down. Any help offer will be appreciated. I saw the post about the weight lost, etc. Is there anything else someone can offer to go with that.
