Since the beginning of my illness everything I read regarding the disease, when I stumbled across the stats of men getting it, I read through it. Dx is rare. specially on sub clinical Hypo or Hyper thyroidism in men. I believe this b/c men are less likely to see a doctor when they have symptoms. and if they do go and get Dx'd - most do not have the patience and stay on top of it.
Hello, I hope you can help me.In March 2007 I had an Inguinal Hernia repair operation on both sides after I had experienced bad groin pain for about six weeks. About three weeks after the surgery, I developed testicular pain in both left and right testicle with the left one swelling up dramatically. After going for a scan it was observed that I had a hydrocele on my left side. Six weeks after My original operation, I was hospitalised after I developed severe pain on the right side of my groin.
On September 21st I went in for day surgery the first of three separate surgeries, the surgery for the 21st of September was a hernia repair a simple straight forward procedure. I have had a hernia repair before it was quick an easy and for me there was no pain I healed fast and that was that. That this operation is totally different I was wracked with pain. My 70 year old father had to come and help me just to get me out of bed I couldn’t understand what was going on.

Hi, I am 28 male and i had a large inguinal hernia operation done 11 months back. before the operation i did'nt had the erection problem. i realised this after getting married 6 months back. the problem i face is when i desire to have sex i get an erection but as soon as the sperms come out for the first time my penis returns back to its normal postion within 30 to 40 seconds and after that if i want to have sex again i don't get erection again normally for 4 to 5 hours.
Why do so many men refuse to get medical care for their health issues? I am so frustrated. For many years my husband, Mark, has suffered from a bloated gut, pain, and changes in his bowel habits. I've never been able to get him to look into this appropriately. Well now he has an umbilical hernia and I went to the doctor with him yesterday. I managed to get the doctor to order up quite a number of blood tests, he is going for ultrasounds and will be referred to a gastroenteroligist.
Can you give any advise? I didn't have this problems before my hernia surgery and after the hernia surgery I have not had sex for two years. My wife and I have only been married for three months and really desire a good sex life. We would both appreciate any help you could give us.
Hello, Such kind of pain in testicles can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones. As there is no swelling or inflammation or redness of the scrotal sacs, so the chances of epidiymitis or orchitis are rare.
Hello, From the symptoms it can be infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there.
I had inguinal hernia surgury in July 2006. Due to residual pain and swelling, I saw a urologist who told me that my right testicle is no longer functional (same side as hernia repair). The urologist ordered a semen analysis which was normal and a blood test to check my testerone level. My testerone level is now low so I have an appointment for a follow up (I say now because my wife and I were seeing a fertility dr. so I had these two tests done before the surgury and they were normal).
- his body physically will not allow him to have sex or anything of the sort more than once in 24 hours. for example if we have sex at night we cannot have sex in the morning. he goes soft after having an erection for more than 5 mins. it is not just with the act of sex but any other stimulation aswel. - he has always found it really hard to last during sex, he can only last 3-5 mins. :( at first we thought it was because he needed practice, but a year has past and it has not changed.
I've been tested for all STDs since the last time I had sex (after the appropriate window period). He examined me and said that there was nothing noticeably wrong with my scrotums (torsion, hernia, etc.). He gave me a prescription for antibiotics, saying I may have mild epididymitis. However, my symptoms are not one sided like epididymitis is. What could be going on with me? This pain is freaking me out.
I have, random pain frequent urination fever more pain at walks but no swelling and scars. I've not involved in sex and i'm sure i don't have STD's. I'm having medications from 3 days and the doctor asked me to do a checkup. Could i know how long would it take to heal if it's acute epididymitis um.... I would like to know wether it would prevent me fathering (please don't mis understand, i have issues @ home cuz my left testis has also been removed when i was 14) Please help, Thank you !
I (22) have been having sex since 18. So when we attempted to have sex the first time he didn't seem nervous, he didn't seem intimated or anything but he couldn't keep an erection for longer than 30-60 seconds. So we didn't end up having sex. We tried again a few days ago and same thing happened. We performed oral sex on eachother and there was enough fore play . He just can't keep an erection for that long at all.
it could be due to being circumcised if you are as circumcised men get older they lose feeling.the pain could be alot of different things such as a hernia.
I am 61 and sex dose not feel real good any more like it did when I was young. I did have a hernia that went into my left testical back in the mid 70's and a few years later a visectimy. What can I do to increase that good feeling? My doctor is a women at the VA and I have been reluctant to ask a women doctor.

The first time this occured was about 2 months ago after having sex, it wasn't in depth sex such as anal sex or anything. The day after i had a throbbing pain in both testicals randomly but it eventually went and didnt come back for some time. Just a few weeks ago it came back and this time along with constipation. I'm currently taking lactulose solution and it dosen't seem to be helping the constipation that much.
A small percentage of men develop severe pain and find it affects their quality of life or causes pain during sex or diminishes the sensation of orgasm or pleasure from sex. Between 1 in 30 and 1 in 60 men regret having the vasectomy due to chronic genital pain. If you end up in this latter group, your treatment options will include warm soaks, Motrin, and time. If it does not resolve, you may need a vasectomy reversal and it may not be covered by insurance and could cost $4000 to $12,000.
No physician would confuse a hernia with an STD as cause of symptoms like your wife's. She has a hernia, that's all. As for your urinary discomfort, the best bet is that your anxieties over the infidelity are making normal sensations during urination seem more prominent than they did before. To the specific questions: 1) "What am I missing here?" Nothing. 2) PID causes pain inside the abdomen, not in the groin. It is not possible to misdiagnose PID as a hernia.

I hope you realize now how important it is to always wear a condom, especially for anal sex. As a man who has sex with men, your risk of HIV is higher than most.
Not to worry you, but yes, it CAN (but isn't very often) passed from men to women, women to men, men to men, etc. sexually. I know there's a poster on here who says that it's not possible for a woman to transmit it to a man sexually (!?). Lots of things though could cause pain in the right side; gallstone/gallbladder attacks among them, just for starters.
the ache came on with a sudden pulling sensation about 3 weeks after the sex do you think it could be a hernia causing the pain? ( i cant feel any bulges but i do occasionly suffer pain and discomfort at the top of the groin as well as in the testes) 3.

(my right testicle went into my body again during sex) i had Inguinal Hernia when i was a child and i was diagnosed with chronic prostatatis in 2009)is it possible to be torsion? i dont think i was examined well enough to rule it out.
A central element of safe sex for gay men is to never have sex with another man, even intended safe sex, without asking his HIV status and sharing one's own.
L.). Does this have anything to do with him having sex with men or is this a medical problem that needs attention. Either way it goes a mans penis should not bleed; it's not normal. Please help!
I thought I might had just bruised it from being a little too active here lately with sports. Today my girlfriend and I had a little afternoon sex and when I went it looked like regular semen but had chunks of snotty colored string stuff in it. I was wondering if this something I should go to the doctor about or is something that might pass. Just a litle worried.
