Avatar f tn For the past year or so, I've been having problems remembering and focusing. Before I can get through a paragraph, I've forgotten that quick what I have read. Is this stress related or related to something else.

Avatar f tn Dyslexia is actually somewhat common, President Wilson had it, and it is VERY hard for those people to see letters in any sort of organized way and they get words out of order, so it takes them three times as long to learn something. I think a professional who understands learning differences could be recommended by an elementary school nearby, it's good you've recognized a possible problem now.
645800 tn?1466860955 The computer displayed each of these pairs twice and then you had to pick from another set of 2 words which was the one on the lists they had shown you. This test was to test how well you associate words and I did very good on it. The second computer test consisted of 4 blocks on top of the screen each with different colors, number of symbols, and type of symbol. It then brought up one at a time other blocks for you to figure out what why to match the new blocks to the 4 on top.
414131 tn?1202530891 I am experiencing various problems mostly with memory. I am 49 and was diagnosed a year ago with diabetes. My A1C was 6.5. I was very tired. I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. All I had to do is sit down and start to relax. My brain was not working so well either. My memory was becoming almost a thing of the past. I was having what I call random access bad sectors. It would strike randomly and I never knew if I would recover what I just forgot.

Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.

Avatar f tn Yes, it is MS. Yes, the memory holes from MS are really difficult to deal with. I also sometimes have trouble recognizing objects. Or thinking of words. It's mainly why I don't work any more. I know exactly what you mean. I have to ask my boyfriend if I have seen a movie before. Or a broadway play even - which is a much bigger deal, obviously. I don't remember meals or when I last saw a friend - or if I have paid a bill or not. So I have to pay them as soon as they come in.
1704542 tn?1307505584 Mama, Welcome! Is the doc that ordered the VEP the same one who said MS does not cause pain? YIKES! Couldn't be more wrong about that - unless doc was referring to an initial complaint. In that context I can see where MS would not be the docs 1st concern. But, to say MS does not cause pain is completely inaccurate. We have an excellent health page on pain and MS if you have a chance to look at our health pages. Also, pain can often be a secondary issue to a very MS related symptom.

Basically they present 4 words that you have to repeat back, but they say other words in the opposite ear at the same time.

Avatar f tn I am 30 yrs old & I often get bad headaches which trigger from a blinking nerve above the side portion of my eye.
