Very frustrating, isn't it! All I can tell you is that this problem comes and goes. Sometimes my memory's great. I've had a run for more than a month of REMEMBERING phone numbers! Wow - for a year and a half, I couldn't remember strings of numbers longer than four. Now I'm remembering whole numbers - area code and all. Not that this lasts long - it helps if it's a number I'm calling all the time.

The code means the meter will be calibrated to that batch of test strips. Not having the right code will mean your result may be a little off, because of the calibration differences. I looked up that "term" and found it was it a code so they can get paid by insurance, so it is not a specific diagnosis. But if there is an anomaly and by congenital, it may imply that it has been there a while, it seems like there is something - why the psych instead of a neurologist?
