Avatar f tn Occasional sores on my scalp I have even lost 8 kilos in weight The blood test results that I have listed is the only ones that were done and is written up as it says on the paperwork Yes the doctor is Indian, but I find it frustrating talking to doctors anyway as I dont understand half of what they are saying and then they dont like giving straight answers. It took 6 months for the specialist to confirm that I had to say that I had SLE - he kept telling me I had an autoimmune disease.
Avatar f tn I am always tired, dry skin, my memory is terrible and i have weight gain and cold all the time. The doctor says its my age (45). When i get my blood test results back what is the normal rage for the TSH, T4 and T3. I went to see a naturapath and she agrees i have many symptoms of being hypo and thinks i should be on medication but my doctor is not open to trying. Is there any danger in trying medication just to see if it helps.
Avatar f tn Just because your husband's thyroid test results are within the so-called "normal" ranges does not mean they are adequate for him. The ranges are so broad that just being in the lower half of the range frequently results in hypo symptoms. Many members say that symptom relief required Free T3 in the upper part of its range and Free T4 around the middle of its range.
Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
16295492 tn?1446924672 Your daughter's test results show a high TSH that then triggered a test for the antibodies of the most common cause for diagnosed hypothyroidism, which is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. With Hashi's the autoimmune system erroneously identifies the thyroid gland as foreign to the body and produces antibodies to attack and eventually destroy the gland.
Avatar f tn 3 which seems to be pretty close to the middle of the range. I took a saliva cortisol/DHEAS test on 06/11/16 and got these results: DHEAS (Saliva) 8.0 ng/mL 2-23 Cortisol (Saliva) 1.1 L ng/mL 3.7-9.5 (morning) Cortisol (Saliva) 1.3 ng/mL 1.2-3.0 (noon) Cortisol (Saliva) 1.3 ng/mL 0.6-1.9 (evening) Cortisol (Saliva) 1.3 H ng/mL 0.4-1.0 (night) So from that I’m seeing that I never got the big morning cortisol spike.
Avatar m tn I've had memory loss due to vitamin B12 malabsorption, hypothyroidism, and severe stress. Alzheimer's is also called Diabetes Type 3. A book you might want to read is called Brain Grain by David Perlmutter M.D.
Avatar n tn I got my results from the neuropsychological exam in the mail today. I'm shocked and stunned that I only tested 7th grade level for math:o(. I won awards in school for math and was in the higher math classes in high school. I showed problems with short term memory and attention. I showed relative weaknesses in tasks requiring attention, working memory, incidental learning, verbal list learning and verbal list recall. My math score being so low was also mentioned with this.
Avatar n tn Hello, if someone thinks he lost consciousness at one point, say during a fight because he has a memory gap that makes sense to him only if he was knocked out, is there a medical test to show that he indeed lost counsciousness? If so, how soon after the knock out would the test have to be performed?
Avatar f tn anyways my baseline was done I showed some decline in the executive part of the memory and last yrs test showed more decline than the previous. I have problems with recall, learning new tasks, making choices. my neuro-physc doc is great he talks to me before and after the testing and goes over the results them when he makes his 3-4 page reports he sends a copy to me its interesting to read actually.
Avatar n tn Recent thyroid test results - TSH 0.004 - T4 10.8 - T3 28. I have unexplained weight gain, memory loss (that is starting to concern me!), tired most of the time, dry skin, puffyness under eyes unless I take a daily water pill (doesn't always help), muscle/joint aches & pain, very low libido, thinning hair, feet are ususally cold but I am 'hot' all the time, seldom perspire unless humidity is high.
Avatar f tn I nearly had a cow when the neuro-psych told me my test results, i'd averaged out to fit into the normal IQ range. The big deal, was that I'm identified highly gifted, born into a family of highly/profoundly gifted people. Dropping 30-45 IQ points should of set off alarm bells but unfortunately they dont seem to recognise 'normal' IQ as an indication that there is a problem, well it is for ME! lol.
Avatar n tn I am a 53 year old marriedd woman and went to donate blood only to be deferred because I tested positive for Syphilis. There were some other results, I did not understand like EIA positive, RPR negative and FTA positive. If my memory serves me well, I tested positive for syphilis or some STD forty years ago, was treated. Would these diseases still show in your blood 40 years later? How common are flase positives?
Avatar m tn You have a number of symptoms that frequently occur with hypothyroidism. So you need to get those tests done that I listed above. Also, to check for Hashimoto's you should request tests for TPO ab and TG ab. When you have more test results please post them here along with reference ranges shown on the lab report and we will be happy to help interpret and advise further.
Avatar m tn have just come out of a private neurology clinic. Where all test and scans were clear, awaiting results of EEG. My sister has Behchets but doctors say that until they bioposy one of my mouth ulcers they won't treat me for same. Any ideas at this stage would be a life line.
Avatar f tn Based on the results of these tests some assignments, vitamin supplements, yoga techniques, memory games etc can be tried to improve memory. Hope this helps. Take care!
