Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a year ago and since then my memory and concentration has drastically went down. The medication (methimazole) is helping my thyroidism but doesn't seem to be doing anything to restrore my memory and concentration. Avatar n tn The long exact name for this test according to the lab that offers the test is ANTI-THYRO GLOBULIN ANTI BODY TEST. HOWEVER, I CAN GET THIS test much cheaper at other labs. but the name is slightly different. At the other lab it is called an ABS TEST, and the long name for it is THRYO GLOBULIN AUTO ANTIBODY TESTS. Are these two tests the same exact test? so again is the THYROID ANTIBODY(ANTIBODYAB) TEST (LONG NAME ANTI-THYRO GLOBULIN ANTIBODY TEST.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the replies....it helps to know that I just might have an answer. It's been extremely frustrating! A question about the memory loss...have you experienced this all your life (or as long as you can remember)? It's ironic, I didn't realize memory loss was a symptom until recently....my mother never mentioned it. I used to kid with the people in my life that I must have some kind of medical condition that ate my memory.
Avatar f tn For several weeks afterwards I had trouble with memory, which included recalling information that I knew before the concussion, such as phone numbers, as well as some trouble with short term memory issues. Also had headaches and nausea and vomiting for a couple of weeks. Today I have chronic insomnia from that concussion as well as what can be fairly significant trouble with attention and focus.
620048 tn?1358018235 Well, i talked to m Dr's nurse and she said that my LP test showed inflamation...and damn, i just talked to her on the phone and as soon as I hung up i forgot what she said about the VEP test....but there was something. Both tests showed something that will help with the diagnosis. I see the Dr in a week so i will know more. I couldnt more out of the nurse of course, not that i didnt try. Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar n tn It seems that you are suffering from acute anxiety and excessive stress. It is important to know if this deterioration in memory and concentration started recently or not. Also your age is important. It is difficult to tell if these symptoms are due to neurological disorder like Presenile dementia which cause loss of memory and concentration, decreased judgement, misplacing things, mood swings, confusion and loss of confidence. http://www.jobaccess.gov.

8323481 tn?1405705654 It gets better with time and healing. Protein packed foods and vit C will help, as will crosswords and puzzles. Yes there is damage. That's what these drugs do. I'm sorry I forget what I was talking about! What was your question??
Avatar m tn S when i see a picture that i took some time ago or a year ago. or when i speak and say a word i notice that i have said the word and it went away in the past ( WTF IS PAST ? ) it gives me the creeps guys ... i get scared and think that this can't be true. what is time? what is memory? and it gets me anxious :S any advice how to get out of my missery?
Avatar m tn Your panel did not give a conclusive answer to his question as to possible memory less due to usage of this drug. So, I am asking this same question again. Is there memory loss due to usage of this drug? I have had a prescription for atenolol for the past ten years to control blood pressure. And, I am experiencing some minor memory loss. I will not give my age because that may give you a reason for attributing memory loss to some other reason.
Avatar m tn As i have had some symptoms for 10 days ish of swollen glands, elevated temp for 4 days (around ten days ago) and sore throat (still have slighty swollen galnds and sore throat) and then had hiv second test. My question is if this was in any way related to hiv that this would have been picked up in my five week test as i had symtoms for 2 weeks prior to the test. 2.
Avatar f tn You need to answer the question that I asked, instead of ignoring it and telling us about your fears. Is the answer yes or no?
Avatar n tn Not just symptoms, but signs, complaints, and a simple timeline would be good. Past test results might not be that useful given the time. If you have had any xray or MRIs in that past, it might be worth mentioning if they need to pull them for comparison with any new studies.

He has had time where he would be on 13meds at once for over a year. Now we are down to 7 meds. He has really bad short term memory. Avatar m tn Does anyone out there know from experience if 40 mg daily (20 taken before bed) is considered a high dose? If so, can this type of dosage impair memory? I've reviewed several websites and the info seems to vary considerably.
Avatar m tn In general what particular configuration of bed (flat / inclined / adjustable), mattress (soft / medium / firm / memory) and pillow (low / medium / high density / memory/ v shaped) are best for sleeping in a particular position (Supine, L/R lateral decubitus / ventral)? Is there particular configurations of bedding type that sleep experts suggest Pts should use if they want to adopt a particular sleep position?
Avatar m tn A lot of points have to be touched, and I have to mention a few points so I will try to make this short. At my early days of 13 - 16 I was doing drugs heavily. I've always laughed how I've never gotten an after effect. I know I suffered from a memory loss at a young age because I blacked out most of my youth from 8 - 17. Nowadays, which is only 5 years later I can hardly remember what I did last night, what I ate at yesterday's breakfast.
