Avatar m tn My 60 years old mother has shown some sign of memory loss occasionally. Her MRI report is pasted below. What do points 1 & 2 mean? 1. Few punctate T2 / FLAIR hyperintense lesions are seen in the frontal subcortical white matter without any restricted diffusion on DW images - ? clinical significance. 2. There is generalized prominence of ventricular system, cisternal & sulcal spaces. 3.The rest of the parenchyma is unremarkable. Bilateral basal ganglia and thalami are unremarkable.
Avatar f tn Magnetic resonance imaging was performed with sagittal and coronal T1-weighted images, diffusion weighted axial images, gradient echo acial images, FLAIR axial images and fast spin-echo T2-weighted axial images on a 1.5 Yesla MR unit. There is a punctate hyperintensity on FLAIR and T2-weighted images in the right posterior frontal corona radiata white matter, and several additional punctate hyperintensities in the left parietal subcortical white matter.
206807 tn?1331936184 In one experiment, researchers showed volunteers images and asked them to imagine other images at the same time. Later, many of the volunteers recalled the imagined images as real. Using fMRI, the researchers were able to determine which parts of the brain formed the false memories and which formed the real ones. “We think parts of the brain used to actually perceive an object and to imagine an object overlap,” says Northwestern University scientist Kenneth Paller.
561706 tn?1333947274 Does anyone know of a good source of images of bp brain scans? I'd really like something I can print to use in a collage. Or are there any sources that might offer something like a poster? Thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar m tn Huh. I looked up some images and they're closer to what I remember seeing than most of the images of herpes sores. Thanks for the info.
Avatar f tn He rules it out then comes back to it. Some test suggest it, then others like a spinal tap say no. But the search has been going on for over a year and my symptoms are now causing Iritis and me to be almost paralyzed in my left side for a few days. The symptoms are the normal for MS Dizziness, memory issues, tremors, fatigue, leg and arm go to sleep and feel like they are shot up with Novocain.
Avatar m tn My condition is getting worse by day. Also, my memory and state of consciousness are being affected (and it is getting worse). Another problem: I do not feel the way I used to do- example: happiness or sadness sensations are reduced. The problems started last summer at the end of June 2015. I went to a lot of doctors. neurologists, done MRI investigations of my brain and spinal cord (the images revealed no lesions). My general blood tests are normal.
Avatar n tn Dementia is characterized by progressive memory impairment and intellectual dysfunctions. Memory, orientation, ability to plan and organize is also impaired.
645800 tn?1466860955 Hey Dennis, I think your putting together two very different issues, i'm pretty sure they are both basically related to 'working memory' deficits but word recall is stored in our long term working memory bank and forgetting where you put something, would be stored in our short term working memory bank.
Avatar n tn So having all these symptoms i decided to look at my CT scan and compare the images to images i could find on the internet. Nothing really matched until i found CT pictures of alzhiemer's. The images i found matched my CT scans almost perfectly. There is a large "hole" in the center of my brain. I'm only 33 years old. Is it possible to have alzhiemer's this young? My grandfather had alzhiemer's which started around his late 50's.
Avatar f tn i have been through my diary and my phone and i have peiced together my days from around the time of conception and although i knw i was only at work or at home i still thinki its possible that i slept with someone on the way to work or at work !!!
Avatar f tn Usually there is always some deficit. If you have old photographs send them to him. Images have a way of triggering memory. I would not give up hope about him remembering you. My little 103 year old lost memory of her sister and did not recognize her, and then, suddenly, her memory of her sister returned. Magically. Inexplicably. Try not to lose hope. Ten weeks is not a very long tiime. Keep your spirits up and don't give up! I would not accept the prognosis of permanancy at this point.

1453295 tn?1329617670 My neurologist was checking for Chiari malformation and myelopathy. I can't get back in to see my doctor for several weeks so I was looking through the images they gave me on the disk. I can't tell anything really but these bright spots popped out to me. Its on the cspine (he also ordered a brain mri) and I think its the upper cervical spine view or something? I uploaded the images, removing my personal information of course. Can anyone help? I'm a little concerned.
Avatar m tn Hello there, So about a year ago i *think* i had a pimple on my leg which inflamed and became a lump on which i tried to peel the skin off to let the puss out since it was bothering me but was largely unsucessful. If memory serves correct the puss remained deep in and the lump was highly painful if scratched initially. The pain has mostly subsided but the black mark remains. I am not sure what this is... could this be cancer ? google will not show any images of anything remotely similar.
Avatar f tn It all started out of no where in the morning of the first day of my holidays it started with foot cramps and with not being able to swallow it progressed to left sided weakness followed by shouting strange things and absence for 20 minutes. I was admitted to Public hospital an had every test under the sun (including MRI) over the following weeks and was told they couldnt find anything wrong and sent me packing to the psychiatrist with 'conversion disorder'.
Avatar n tn The imediate post-stress myocardial images show defect in the antero-apical and apical walls of the left ventrical. The overall size of the defect is small. Resting images show nearly complete normalization of these perfusion defects. In addition, prominent breast tissue attenuation artifact was noted. The patient had appropriate HR response, and appropriate BP response. Negative for chest pain, mildly positive for ischemic ECG changes, and negative for significant arrhythmia.
424839 tn?1268186246 Brain imaging studies from drug-addicted individuals show physical changes in areas of the brain that are critical to judgment, decisionmaking, learning and memory, and behavior control.7 Scientists believe that these changes alter the way the brain works, and may help explain the compulsive and destructive behaviors of addiction. No single factor determines whether a person will become addicted to drugs.
Avatar m tn Almost all of the material I have read, do the stress test/treadmill then rest, then scan. When I had my test I was given cardiolite then rested then was scanned. After a short while I was given the treadmill test and was injected with more cardiolite. Then rested for a relatively short period then scanned again. Why the difference in procedure and does it make any difference?
1260255 tn?1288654564 My MRIs of the spine show dark spots on the bone, yet my research comes up empty handed. All of the images I see online show more or less uniform bone color, but not mine. Below are some images of the recent C spine. An older MRI of the lumbar spine (on old fashioned film) showed the same kind of V shaped discoloration.
Avatar f tn Post stress images Demonstrate a small partial defect in the anteroseptal wall of the left ventricle with normal perfusion elsewhere. The resting images show no change in this pattern. Raw images suggest soft tissue attenuation likely explains this minor defect. WTF? Is this something to worry about??
Avatar f tn I have atypical trigeminal neuralgia. I also have fatigue, memory problems, and sometimes struggle to speak what I am thinking. I am also finding I am a bit more clumsy and when I have to pee, I have to pee! I get tingling and numbness in my hands and feet and often get a sensation like I put my foot in hot water. My one eye sometimes feels irritated.
Avatar n tn I don't know how edit my question. I want to know I recently hurt my scrotal area in bathroom, I was in a hurry. So will getting ultrasound add more injury?
