Common Questions and Answers about Memory test free

memory

Avatar n tn Go to a neurologist and ask to have a neuropsych test done. it helps them determine what is causing the memory issues. All they do is a bunch of test and memory test with you to help you find out whats wrong.
Avatar f tn The ranges are so broad that just being in the lower half of the range frequently results in hypo symptoms. Many members say that symptom relief required Free T3 in the upper part of its range and Free T4 around the middle of its range. If you will please post his thyroid related test results, and reference ranges shown on the lab report, we will be better able to comment further. Also, what thyroid medication and dosage is he taking daily?
Avatar f tn So you need to make sure they always test you for Free T4 and Free T3 every time you go in for tests. I expect that you will find that your Free T3 level is inadequate. You also need to get tested for Reverse T3, which is a mirror image molecule of T3, but biologically inactive. T4 is converted in the body to T3 and Reverse T3. Under some adverse conditions, excess Reverse T3 will be produced, which then adversely affect metabolism of T3 in the cells.
Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar n tn There were some other results, I did not understand like EIA positive, RPR negative and FTA positive. If my memory serves me well, I tested positive for syphilis or some STD forty years ago, was treated. Would these diseases still show in your blood 40 years later? How common are flase positives?
Avatar m tn Just got the call from my Doctor and I'm virus free so glad...
Avatar f tn Your TSH is normal, but in your case with symptoms it's very important to check your free T4 and free T3. Without these values you shouldn't try medication, first get those results, then your doctor will see if further analyses are required. I would check also anaemia (Hb, ferritin, transferin, iron in serum, folic acid , Vit B12) and a full blood count.
16295492 tn?1446924672 Instead of the Total T4 test that was done, she should be tested for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3. Typically when TSH is the range, then Free T4 and free t3 will be in the lower part of their ranges. Sometimes doctors will interpret this as being adequate; however, the most important consideration is whether she is having hypothyroid symptoms.
198727 tn?1352054382 TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that at best it is an indicator, to be considered along with much more important indicators such as symptoms (of which you have plenty), and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4. Of these Free T3 is the most important, because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions.
Avatar f tn t diagnostic. He said he would do the dexamethasone test instead of the 24 hour urine test (I suspect he thinks it'll be difficult for me because I pee anywhere from 15-20 times a day lol) but if this comes back normal I'm going to press him to do the urine test in a few weeks anyways.
Avatar m tn If you do post them for more info, Did your MD do an anti-body (TPOab) blood test along with TSH, Free T3 and Free T4, post them along with the reference ranges provided with each.
Avatar f tn Well, he doesn't eat a lot of sugar and sodas for that reason...and he doesn't watch a lot of tv....is usually running around playing either outside or inside...he just can't remember things...if you look at him and make him look at you and tell him when his bday is....he will repeat it to you....then a min later you ask him when is his bday...he has no clue even what month it is...if you show him a pic of the letter A tell him what it is...make him repeat it....
Avatar f tn I recently had my thyroid tested - TSH 2.09 (Normal Range 0.34-5.60) and Free FT4 0.80 (Normal Range 0.60-1.60). My doctor said I was normal, however based on my symptoms and research I've done on the internet, I believe I may be hypo. Most of my symptoms are hypo: fatigue, dry skin, weight gain, hair loss, depression, bad memory, etc. However, I do not have cold intolerance. My one hyper symptom is heat intolerance and excessive sweating.
Avatar m tn My mother had her thyroid and a benign tumour removed about 6 months ago. She lives 3 hours away from me, so I have seen her a few times but only for short intervals and we regularly speak on the phone. Since her operation I have noticed she is always tired (also due to her heart medication) and that she has become more of a glass half empty type of person. Recently my father had a heart attack (serious but my Dad is a trooper and is now recovering after surgery).
Avatar f tn Have there been any other tests, to see what your actual thyroid hormone levels are? These would be Free T3 and Free T4, along with TSH. If you have results for these tests, please post them, along with the reference ranges from you lab report (ranges vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report). In addition to the lab results, if you have them, also please let us know your current symptoms, as well as thyroid medication, if any.
Avatar m tn there is a good website ,free, called lumosity google and you will find it, great mind games and exercises to help with memory .Good luck let us know how you are doing .
Avatar f tn Both my free t3 and free t4 are low normal. Exhaustion, poor memory, hair falling out, dizziness, headaches daily, migraines often, heavy painful periods, low low energy, inability to loose weight (after 40 lb weight gain in 1.5 years). I want to have kids and feel this is preventing that bc I can barely function as is. Everything else is normal except pth of 87 and 1,25 dihydroxyvitamin d of 89. Calcium 9.3 iodized calcium 1.24 vitamin d 40.
Avatar m tn Next in importance is biochemical tests for Free T4 and Free T3, along with Reverse T3. Your Free T4 of 1.20 is at 40% of its range, which is borderline for most people without hypothyroidism. You really need to also test for Free T3 and Reverse T3. Cortisol is also important to know since it directly affects thyroid metabolism. Hypo patients are frequently deficient in Vitamin d, B12 and ferritin also so those should be tested and supplemented as needed to optimize.
Avatar m tn My soon to be 12 year old blood test results indicate: Thyroxine, free 0.6 with ref range of 0.7-2.1 and thyroid stim. hormone 0.82 with ref. ranges of 0.46-4.68. Last year, her tsh was slightly lower than range and throxine free came back within range. After further test last year, everything came back fine. Obviously, I'm worried about what new results.
Avatar n tn Yes, that is the correct test results. (TSH - 0.004; Thyroxine (T4) - 10.8; T3 Uptake - 28; Free Thyroxine ndex - 3.0) I will ask him about doing a FT-4 test. I thought most people that were hyper would see weight loss instead of weight gain??
Avatar f tn Free T4, Reverse T3, B12 and cortisol. The TSH test is useful for diagnostic purposes only when it is at extreme levels. The lab order specified TSH w/reflex to FT4, so FT4 was not done. In diagnosing an untreated person FT4 is even more important than FT3, since in the absence of adequate FT4 the body will convert extra T4 in an effort to maintain body functions. In addition, it is useful to test for Reverse T3 at the beginning to make sure T4 is not being converted to excess RT3.
