Avatar m tn I was about to took the test so I opened the box, took bag that contained the solution and the test device, then opened the bag and took the solution and the test device (I didn't touch the flat pad). I put the solution on the table. After that, I threw away the bag. Because I was insecure about taking the test, I put everything on the box again, without the bag. After 15 minutes I decided to finally took the test and my result was a C (negative). My question is , is my result valid?

Avatar m tn And I made the worst mistake of my life. I scraped off the white chromatographic immunoassay part of the test device to see if the pink line was still there after I scraped it off. I feel so stupid. Why did I ever do it? Now, I am worried sick and researching about this company that sold me test kit and how EIA and Western Blot testing work. And I found out that the product I used was not even FDA approved for not adulterating the test device.

I have noticed some memory loss within the same time period (short and long term). I have also started snoring (quite loudly) something that I never used to do. I am also continually tired lately.. Within the past few days, I have developed a tingling sensation in my left foot/toes. I know feel it ocassionally in my left hand/fingers.

Avatar m tn My concern is, the devices were transported far away from US to the seller in Russia so I wonder if the long period of delivery can affect the sensitivity of the device. The expiry date of the devices is June 2013 so they are still valid when I was using Secondly, I am an Asian. What if the device can't detect Asian's antiHIV antibody? Thirdly, both tests came back negative.. I did the oral swab test. I know that if only the line at C zone appeared, then I am negative.
Avatar m tn After the specimen is added to the vial with fluit, it will flow up the test device, and if antibodies are found, a bar will appear in the T section. After that is done, it will travel further up and reach the Control section, where another bar will appear. If I read correctly, the C section serves to ensure that a specimen was added to the vial and that it was tested correctly.

Although testing just by putting finger on test device without capillary tube was also recommended by manufacturer (it was testing procedure number 2), the rapid test was CE marked when i saw its pouch label, am i safe regarding all i said?

I also have some memory issues and incontinence that I have just assumed are part of growing older, I am 43. I am taking Neurontin (600 mg x3/d) and Vicodin (prn up to about 1000 mg/day) for the left thigh pain. I have had MRIs which indicate fluid in my left thigh of undetermined cause, slight degenerative disk disease in L4-L5, and arthritis in my left hip.
