This behavior is not particularly uncommon in children of that age. Working memory is the skill that is required to recall and follow directions. If a child has certain conditions, such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, working memory is often impaired. When you give him directions, be sure he is next to you and that you establish eye contact. Then, have him repeat the directions before he proceeds to execute them.
Sounds like pretty typical child behavior. They have a lot of stuff going on in their little lives, they get really excited about things, and it's hard for them to pay attention. If he's really getting rambunctious, you have to take his hands and look him in the eyes and tell him firmly a couple times what you want. Ok so I am only 9 weeks along and have lost 4 lbs. but my belly is starting to poke out and I'm freakin out! No i am not asking for legal advise i am curious as this is an older girl who has had a lot of emotional issues but its being pushed that its a surpressed memory she was in her teens and now in her twentys so i am curious if there is no defense against it how do we know its true i am trying to understand how this came up and what can be done for it and what help can she get to help herself is everyone suppose to just let things go and it gets worse or what can be done/
My 13 year old son is a super quite child that had rather be home by himself with Mom and Dad instead of playing with other children in the neighborhood.Very polite to everyone. But he can not remember his scool work after a few minutes or remember to bring his things in from school or play. He will not think for himself at all. He hears voices that tell him to lie about his homework or the things he done in school. He is in 8th grade but it has been a struggle.
I asked their pediatrician (mainly just to ask) if we should do a booster, just like what is done with MMR boosters, etc. She said we could test titers and go from there. We did so and low and behold all of them showed no immunity. I was floored and scared.
Are your brother in law's seizures refractory? If they are, chances are his worsening memory issues are a result of his refractory epilepsy, although certain medications can make things worse. But in the meantime, while you wait for a sleep test or to see a doc to figure out what might be doing this to your memory, let us say you know on your own that you don't sleep very well. I can suggest a couple easy things you can do to try to clear this up: One is to exercise to where you break a sweat at least three or four times weekly, this helps release tension and also helps a person sleep better.
