Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar f tn Research has shown that people with fibromyalgia brain ages 10 yrs faster than the average person. I am fast approaching 63 and I have had some serious memory problems. I don't have these problems everyday and I do not know what triggers them. I do know that if I am really tired I will have memory loss to the point that I cannot complete a sentence. So does it mean that when I am 73 my brain will act like it is 83 or older? This really has me worried.
Avatar n tn It depends on the age of the child, young children cannot make this stuff up. I was a victim of rape when I was only 5, totally forgot about it until I was well into my 20's and then it hit me like a speeding train. It was then verified by my mother. Plus, her mental problems may be the result of this abuse! Things that happen in our childhood are normally the cause for anxiety, and depression in later years.
Avatar m tn and while its cause is not know for certainty it is thought o be related to atherotic showering of the brain as the aorta is cross clamped, or can also be caused by problems with circulatory arrest times in other forms of surgery. It you are relatively young and do not have a very calcified aorta then your risk of developing this showering or plaque to the brain is small. Ask you surgeon about his own particular experience and methods of avoiding this untoward side effect.
Avatar f tn Just wondered if there are any "young" stroke survivors out there. My very healthy athletic husband had an unexplained massive right side stroke Sept 2014 at age 47, (yah, no spring chicken I know, but still...) He got the TPA in time, however he had a bleed anyway causing more damage and an emergency craniotomy for the swelling. He is lucky to have survived but the stroke has taken it's toll on him, but he is fighting hard to make a comeback.
Avatar f tn I can understand your concern regarding the event. 15 seconds of memory lapse can seem long for a person with no baseline memory problems. However, an isolated incident like this and of such short duration and without any other associated neurological symptoms is likely not the sign of any significant disease. I think you can set your mind at ease and enjoy your holidays Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar f tn I am just wondering, what kind of things could cause VT in a young person with no other health problems except being born with hearing loss, and a young person who is an endurance athlete?
Avatar m tn Thank you for your info. I only have spinal arthritis, nothing as serious as your affliction and thicker foam might solve my problem.
Avatar n tn your memory problems could be from your actual Depression not being taken care of. When I had my 1st Major Depression, I had a form of memory loss problem, and that was BEFORE I took any meds. In other words, my depression caused my memory loss. The medications actually restored my memory loss. So plz call your Doc and tell him/her of your memory problem.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am wondering if anybody has a suggestion of medications that work to help with memory problems associated with SCT that will not cause more memory problems or possible brain damage with long term use?
Avatar m tn Because of these symptoms I continue to be afraid of brain problems, heart problems, and diseases. Did I pick up some disease from visiting China or from a sexual partner? Do I have an impending neurological disorder? Did I look too long at the laser light from the laser-cutter (even though it was not pointing at my eyes)? Did I inhale too many solvents (even though it hasn't been all that many)? Thanks!
Avatar n tn As a young person the last thing you want to hear is to change your diet and lifestyle. However , nothing else will make a difference unless you want to be on meds long time. I have fibro for 21 years and only in the last 7 months have I buckled down and eliminated red meat, oxalates, and lowered the sugar in my diet. A world of relief is the response , but it didn't happen over night . The improvement continues.
Avatar f tn what began from severe fatigue and achy joints and twitching muscles has turned into a young girl losing her vibrance. Has anyone heard of autoimmune encephalopathy?
1339419 tn?1275966042 Is this a direct side effect of high blood pressure, others with hypertension having suggested it effects their short term memory, or is it confined only to myself because of my memory problems? This is a very important question I need answered for a number of different reasons.
