Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.

1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.

Dr. Shaywitz explains why some bright adults can read only very slowly, and what they can do about it. 280234 tn?1532986249 I was wondering if any other young adults have been diagnosed with colon polyps? I'm a 34/f who was recently diagnosed with a 1.1 cm "Tubulovillous adenoma" during a colonoscopy (was seeing blood/mucous in stool for about 6 months). The lab report came back that it was benign, and my GI doctor said follow up with him in 3 years. From what my GI doctor told me, and what I've read about these, they are considered precancerous. Following up in 3 years makes me nervous.
11942496 tn?1422621070 "Recovered memories" have been proven to be false, across the board. Recovering memories were kind of a thing in the 1980s but they're not true, despite how true they feel. In cases where children suppress memories of horror while adults know the truth, the children virtually never "recover" the memory at all correctly.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?

Avatar m tn All it takes is for one over-bearing adult to convince other adults that this is real. I feel so sorry for this child, it appears his young life has been full of hauntings and ghosts, someone needs to intervene. To tell a child he can't be hugged because he has been naughty is horrible!!!!
Avatar n tn But she was hypothriodism. More and More kids and adults are getting it. Lot of people with depression may have thyriod problems. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn It seems to me from reading information on the Internet that young adults are taking longer to grow up, but how long do you put up with stuff like this before you're enabling them? How do I proceed with her? We expected more from her, and I know she's capable and of course I don't care what her friends' parents are allowing their kids to do.
Avatar n tn I would like to add that many young adults in school get tired from so much studying and this can cause a lapse in memory. I can recall falling asleep during an exam! The best thing you can do to prevent your symptoms is to spend some time away from the books and go out and exercise, which will relieve stress and help you sleep better. You will more than double your memory power by doing this, so do not worry about "wasting time" by regularly being physically active.
Avatar f tn He is 9 and they are adult teeth. We are raw foodists and eat naturally. I am afraid the mercury could be harmful to him because he absorbs things into his body better than other kids do.
Avatar m tn I also am having problems finding info on polyps found in young adults. I am 31 and 2 years ago was having problems with some blood in my stool, ignored it for a couple of months then went and had a sigmoidoscopy done. They found 2 small polyps (benign) which is good. But I am not sure when to go back to get tested again.
