Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
Avatar n tn I am just curious if she also has memory impairment and problems with cognitive capabilities.
Avatar f tn In the fall of last year I started on a downward slide neurologically. I developed bilateral optic neuritis, memory loss, cognative function decline, epilepsy since the age of 17. A couple months ago I began to have dizzy spells eveytime I stood up lasting two minutes. My BP was fine up until a couple weeks ago. My Bp has always been low, which is where I thought the dizziness was coming from (usually 100/55, I am on toprol from the MI).
Avatar m tn Perception of abnormal ear or head noises is termed as TINNITUS. Persistent tinnitus usually indicates the presence of sensory hearing loss. Intermittent periods of mild, high-pitched tinnitus lasting for several minutes are common in normal hearing persons. As it is persisting check with your doctor to rule out inner ear disorders. As for memory impairment, you could try a lot of ‘brain teasers’ to improve your memory functions.
Avatar f tn I have unbearable joint pain (arthryalgias) and myalgia, tinnitus, bedridden often due to fatigue, difficulty concentrating and poor memory. All this has caused depression especially since I'm basically alone with no friend or family support. A year ago I started CaEDTA IV therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy which helped some of my memory problems but not any other improvement and what seems like an increased numbness and tingling in my hands and feet.
Avatar m tn ache, side of them throbs. Had some vision problems where I lose my vision for less than a second. And getting up from lying down I get cross eyed. Have to readjust. Sense this is brain related. Stomach: Had increased gas over the past few months but not necessarily related. Have lots of "pops" and bubbles. Get random bouts of intense stomach pain for no reason. (Haven't had a big meal, not my period etc) Back: shooting pain from brain.
Avatar f tn Fluid, infection, disease of the middle ear bones or ear drum, loud noise, certain medications, nerve problems or advancing age can also cause tinnitus. But some tinnitus or head noise is normal. We are usually not aware of these normal body sounds, because outside noise masks them. If it persists, further evaluation may be warranted. I hope this helps. Best regards.
Avatar n tn Once you are cleared for medical conditions that might be causing your tinnitus you can look at coping strategies and/or a tinnitus masker. These can be provider through your hearing care provider. There is also something known as Auditory Hallucinations which is a more advanced form of tinnitus and is less common. These patients will report they often hear music or people talking. This is often caused by medications, interactions with medications or changes in dosage of medications.
Avatar n tn book yesterday, and although it mentioned nothing at all about tinnitus, I walked away from it thinking I may have some problems with my adrenal glands. It also became very apparent that the disease is difficult to work with, and told me that diet and exercise are CRITICAL to thyroid patients. Folks, we aren't going to lose weight quickly (they said 1 lb per week should be considered GREAT), we will continually have to exercise at least 30 min.
Avatar n tn Every since then, the headaches, tinnitus, dizziness, memory loss etc. has gotten much worse. My doctor says my calcium levels (10.9 - 11.3) are "normal for you." Had a recent sleep study done and was told that because I reach stages one and two (nothing beyond that), then I am considered "normal" range. I question that greatly.

Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar m tn My condition is getting worse by day. Also, my memory and state of consciousness are being affected (and it is getting worse). Another problem: I do not feel the way I used to do- example: happiness or sadness sensations are reduced. The problems started last summer at the end of June 2015. I went to a lot of doctors. neurologists, done MRI investigations of my brain and spinal cord (the images revealed no lesions). My general blood tests are normal.
