memory

Avatar n tn If menory is memory then it's a big time yes to lapses at least in perimenopause (I haven't made it to menopause quite yet). In addition to the memory issues I've also had problems finding words, I saw it referred to once as "losing one's vowels" and I love that analogy.
Avatar f tn Stress can make it hard to focus on things, and it can lead to memory problems, too, especially if you are sleep deprived. Hormones problems, like during perimenopause, can bring these symptoms on, too. Have you seen your doctor lately? Are you on medication for the migraines? (If yes, it could be that the medication or medications are having side effects.
Avatar f tn as well as your menopausal symptoms of hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, and poor memory are proof that you are going through normal perimenopause. The lining can also build up during this time but the body usually does a good job of shedding it before anything serious happens. Benign polyps or fibroids or even the heavier bleeding could be causing your pelvic pain. What is proof that you are in menopause and should not be bleeding?

Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar f tn I am also batteling the same thing. Most docotrs including my GYN laughed at me when I mentioned perimenopause because of my age, I am 32. However my endo said that yes Hashi's can cause early perimenopause. They are still in the process of checking all my levels right now. If you have results let me know what they are. Also are you having any other symptoms like anxiety?
350801 tn?1201924763 There are problems that would be too involved to list here that can cause the s/s of perimenopause/menopause. That's why, plus other problems that can go along with chills, you should be evaluated.
5045042 tn?1365890100 Though there could be lots of reasons. Those were the initial symptoms I had with perimenopause: Perimenopause, also called the menopausal transition, is the interval in which a woman's body makes a natural shift from more-or-less regular cycles of ovulation and menstruation toward permanent infertility, or menopause. Women start perimenopause at different ages. In your 40s, or even as early as your 30s, your may start noticing the signs.
Avatar f tn If your remaining ovary is still functioning, you may be going through perimenopause. It is associated with lower levels of progesterone and wildly fluctuating levels of estrogen which can cause breast fullness and pain. I have read that taking some evening primrose oil (EPO) can ease the breast tenderness. Some say adding some vitamin B6 and vitamin E to the EPO makes it even more effective.
Avatar n tn Moreover, loss of concentration, forgetfulness, memory loss and poor memory retrieval in menopause may be experienced by women in their perimenopause stage too. Memory is the ability to bring information back into one's thoughts while concentration is the ability to focus one's attention or thought to one point successfully. In life, several things can influence how you remember including lack of sleep, stress, poor diet and even the natural aging process.
Avatar f tn Over the past 5 years I have developed skin problems. What I have is actually deep, hard clogged pores, not actually pimples. My skin is not oily. The problem seems to becoming from the inside. It's only on my face. Every one of them leaves a small scar on my face. My pores keep getting larger. I have tried everything over the counter I can think of from salicylic acid, to benzoil peroxide, to proactive and nothing seems to be helping at all.
577395 tn?1277401364 Hello, I'm 50 year old. My periods were pretty regular and lasted 3-4 days. My GYN told me that my hormones show menopause about 1.5 years ago. This time my period started 2 weeks after the previous. And it goes on and on for more than 3 weeks now. Some days more, some days just spotting, but not even 1 day without. I've heard that it might happen in perimenopause women. Should I be concerned? Can it be something serious?
Avatar n tn I am 49 and think I have been going through perimenopause for a few years( periods irregular, increased anxiety, heart racing, trouble with memory, occasional hot flashes). The latest is the inability to have an orgasm. That made me go see my doctor who prescribed Prempro. My maternal grandmother died with breast cancer. I have a history of seizure disorder and on Dilantin. After 2 days of taking Prempro I decided not for me.
414131 tn?1202530891 I am experiencing various problems mostly with memory. I am 49 and was diagnosed a year ago with diabetes. My A1C was 6.5. I was very tired. I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. All I had to do is sit down and start to relax. My brain was not working so well either. My memory was becoming almost a thing of the past. I was having what I call random access bad sectors. It would strike randomly and I never knew if I would recover what I just forgot.
