memory

Avatar f tn that and along with the use of the (bioidentical only) progesterone will affect the thryoid. Menopause and thyroid issues go hand in hand. Geez...is it just the women in the throws of menopause who know all this? Foggy thinking...trouble concentrating. All can be hormonally related....I have tons of stories to share about this from my own experience and that of my friends. I will go and write a message to you now.
Avatar f tn I had some teachers, (because I was 8 minutes late to a group of kids )(I go into many classrooms and work with a little group within each classroom for 30 minutes each) Who thought something is wrong with me. I just went through menopause last year in an abrupt halt of 3 periods last year and 0 this year. Could this be menopause? My dad had alzheimers. Could it be that already? What else could it be? Any info. appreciated.
Avatar n tn If menory is memory then it's a big time yes to lapses at least in perimenopause (I haven't made it to menopause quite yet). In addition to the memory issues I've also had problems finding words, I saw it referred to once as "losing one's vowels" and I love that analogy.
Avatar n tn Any other symptoms? Abdominal isssues, joint pains, kidney stones, memory problems? Have you had your thyroid levels checked? If you don't mind my asking, what was your pain from before the neuro diagnosed you? Drs are often too quick to say"oh, this is it" without further investigation...
Avatar n tn Or fibromyalgia which can make you feel like a truck ran over you and cause memory problems/mental fog. Ask your doc for help with the depression and constipation. See a Gynecologist and check out the possibility of menopause and a Rheumatologist for the possibility of fibro. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I received the call today - tests came back okay, but the hormone levels are off. You should not be bleeding. We are going to do an ultrasound, then also an endometrial biopsy. There is a family history from both sides, of ovarian and cervical cancer...I get checked annually. This time, they have me scared. My Maternal Grandmother made it to 83 with only missing periods when she was pregnant. But my mom had a totally hysterectomy at the age of 27 due to cervical cancer.
Avatar f tn As a child, I was diagnosed with ADD and depression, but I thought they went away. Lately, I have been having problems remembering things, lately being a few years. I was in a bad car accident and that was when it came to my attention. I'm not sure if I have always had this problem, but I know I have had some hard blows to the head in my life. My mind is all mixed up all the time. My thoughts are jumping from thing to the next and I end up forgetting what I was thinking just a second ago.
Avatar f tn Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in the memory department. Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
1830047 tn?1321667793 A doctor once explained to me that a particular anasthetic works like that. Consciousness and recording of memory are two different functions in the brain. She told me what I said while coming out of the anaesthetic, and I had absolutely no memory until a couple minutes later in the recovery room. I am a recent addition to this forum...Just out of curiosity, have you been checked out for Lyme Disease yet? What are your symptoms?
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
Avatar f tn 30 rounds of radiation I am now taking Femara. I am wondering if this drug in any way effects the memory, or thought process. I have been having a lot of memory loss and confusion when speaking. It's like I know what I want to say but sometimes can't seem get the correct words out. Any help would be much appreciated.
Avatar n tn It could very well be. Fibro affects people differently. I would see a neurologist or a rhuematologist i have seen both. I have fibromyalgia amongst other things. But some things that can mimic fibro problems are things like sleep disorders which most people who have them don't realize they do and lyme disease. My biggest issue with fibromyalgia is the constant body pain. I hurt from head to toe. Sometimes its a dull ache feeling sometimes its so bad i can barely walk.
Avatar f tn This usually presents with widespread myalgia (muscle ache) and arthralgia (bone and joint ache), headaches, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, concentration difficulty and memory problems. Cognitive behavior therapy, memory games, multivitamin therapy, nutritional care, graded increase in exercise all help to treat it. There is no cause for this.
Avatar n tn This could be due to onset of menopause that causes several hormonal changes in the body. In all probability a hormone replacement therapy should help you. Apart from this eat a nutritious diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Exercise in fresh air. I would strongly recommend you to see a gynecologist. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor or anything, so I'm not claiming any expertise about this, but I took a psychology of family relations class and in our book, it did say that women can experience early menopause as early as 19 years old. So it is possible, but I don't know if that's what's going on in your case. Maybe you're just in a down kind of mindset. That can affect a lot of your life. Try being more active, even if you don't want to be, and no matter how hard it is.
Avatar m tn To understand menopause dizziness, one must have a better understanding of its causes, symptoms, and possible treatments. Symptoms of Menopause Dizziness In addition to the symptoms described above, menopause dizziness may also present itself with symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, nausea, visual disturbances and a general feeling of lightheadedness.
Avatar f tn Hence you may neither be having peri-menopause nor PCOS. Burning in the mouth can be due to problems with the teeth and gums or due to stomatitis or inflammation in the mouth or due to deficiency of vitamins. Since you have regular cycles and are in good health there is nothing to worry about. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a healthy diet, regular exercise and supplements of vitamin B complex, calcium and vitamin D will help. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar f tn Please could someone tell me who I can turn to for help.
Avatar f tn The right side of my body is freezing, I have not had a period for almost two years now, experiencing hot flashes for 4 years (thought it was menopause but after an exam by gyn she states I show no signs of menopause, wth?) FYI, the right side coldness of my body is new, 2 weeks now and is probably from the fact I multiple problems with my spine (lumbar, thorax and neck) soo most likely that is from either a: nerves being pinched or something touching my spinal cord.
