memory

1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
Avatar f tn Not that I would wish any one on this post, especially you Dave, to have memory problems, but at least I feel more assured that it is normal. Thanks for responding.
676143 tn?1312941771 So does anyone else have problems with memory lately? I feel like the baby is sucking my brain away. I keep forgetting so many little things. Luckily, it hasn't gotten me in to too much trouble yet - but one of these days I am going to forget something really important!
Avatar f tn I've been experiencing some really irritating short-term memory loss problems (for myself as well as other people). I am 35, female and trying to figure out why and how I can improve this. Ther are a few things I have considered...I was in an auto accident last year. I was t-boned and the driver side airbag went off and pretty much saved my life.
Avatar f tn I have FM for over 12 years now, I've read numerous books, I belong to the National Fibromyalgia Network, The Fibromyalgia Association, and follow the latest research on many aspects of FM. These include, medical and pharmaceutical research. There is NO evidence that people with FM have brains that age faster. There is a neurological aspect to FM that can affect our brains. Our neurotransmitters may not be firing right to put it simply.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you may be having some work problems. That can cause stress and the memory problems too.
Avatar n tn One is if you have hypothyroid or Hashimoto's disease, which both mean your thyroid gland is not producing enough hormone, and thus you can get that collection of problems. So, visiting an endocrinologist and getting your thyroid tested is how to find out if it's your thyroid doing all this to you. Two is if you are taking some sort of medication that is giving you these as side effects, so you would review any drug you're on and see if you need to have it changed.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar f tn I have the exact problem. I have ADHD. I dont remember a lot before the age of 13, from then I had to mostly relearn everything I had learned in my younger years. Now I find it hard to remember anything I read, listen to, or try and study. I feel lost and confused since I am only 19 with this type of problem.
Avatar n tn I have had a underactive thyroid for about 35 years . My memory loss sometimes overwhelms me . In my personal life and work atmosphere I can deal with it . I'm in Martial arts and I teach classes there . There is where I have a problem , I can't remember something I want to say . I can't remember a technique to show my students I get embarrassed. Its a different environment for me to be head of the class in a deciplined ,focused atmosphere . Constantly can't remember .
414131 tn?1202530891 I am experiencing various problems mostly with memory. I am 49 and was diagnosed a year ago with diabetes. My A1C was 6.5. I was very tired. I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. All I had to do is sit down and start to relax. My brain was not working so well either. My memory was becoming almost a thing of the past. I was having what I call random access bad sectors. It would strike randomly and I never knew if I would recover what I just forgot.
804276 tn?1480858056 i have had really bad memory problems for most of my life and was wondering if my conditions could cause this. i have points in my life, many, that i just don't remember at all and they aren't bad situations. everything from what i ate yesterday to a family member coming to visit from out of town, years ago, but i don't remember it ever happening. i'm so afraid of alzheimers when i get older but i don't think my memory problems fits alzheimers.

1399170 tn?1333845258 Hi, My name is Mike, and I'm 15 years old. For the past few years I have been experiencing memory problems. I don't forget serious things like names, just small things like homework, things I've said a few days before, even things I ate on the same day sometimes.
Avatar m tn from what i read both depression/thyroid problems are really similar.my symptoms are brain fog, major depression/anxiety,memory problems, feeling tired/weak,constipation,memory problems and the cold seems too effect me. iam 27 now and still feel the same problems as i did before.i have had a blood test when i was 25 that came up negative for hypothyroidism.just from doing some research most gp's don't check for certain things like: free T3 free T4, T3 uptake and thyroid antibody's.
Avatar m tn Memory problems and/or "brain fog" are a very common symptom of hypo. However, as you mention, other scripts, etc. can also be to blame. If you'd post your most recent FT3, FT4 and TSH with reference ranges (ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report), we can take a look and see if you look like your meds are well adjusted for you. Do you have other hypo symptoms as well? What thyroid meds do you take and dose? What other meds are you taking?
Avatar n tn i am only 35 and have a child 2 years ago, i have increased memory loss and general unhappiness. Yesterday i turned on the outside water hose and forgot it and flooded the back yard and killed the fish in the pond, i forget appointments all the time and am moody and worried. I am a teacher and wonder if i will even be able to do my job this school year. What kind of doctor should i try to see, what can i do?
Avatar f tn Have they suggested a steroid shot? I was given one with this one because they thought he'd come early. He's still in there. Babies born at 35 weeks usually have some problems learning to eat but it doesn't take them that long. I was in a NICU with my son for 14 weeks and saw a lot of babies. 35 week old babies usually had no problems!
Avatar m tn My symptoms include dizziness, cognitive problems, memory problems, unbelievable fatigue, headache, eye pain, diarrhea, acid reflux and indigestion. My fear is that my brain has been damaged by the lack of oxygen and sleep. I know that stress, anxiety and depression also play a part but the anxiety and fear are winning this battle. The doctor won't prescribe a machine until he gets my sinus problem resolved. By that time I will probably be dead.
1313177 tn?1273792988 Does Synthroid cause memory loss if taken over a peroid of 35 years or so? if so is there an alternative medication to take? if it is linked to memory loss is it reversable?
963268 tn?1312900315 I have mobility problems, and I've had cognitive problems - of the two, I'd much rather have problems with mobility. Although it makes things tough sometimes!
Avatar f tn t know if that has anything to do with my memory. I am a senior at a University, but I only remember my notes short term enough to take a test then I forget it all. I want to be able to recall memories of my childhood. I sit and think hard, but nothing comes to my mind. My thoughts are always jumbled up. Everyone knows I don't have a good memory, but only my mom and I know to what degree.
1063764 tn?1272821064 My hypothyroidism is also mild and has never caused memory problems. Take your medication and see if your memory improves. If it does not, look for another cause.
