1313177 tn?1273792988 I have to agree with Super_Sally. I took Synthroid for over 30 years with no memory loss. I expect that any memory issues are due to inadequate levels of thyroid hormone, not the Synthroid itself. When taking T4 meds like Synthroid it is very easy to end up with low Free T3 due to inadequate conversion of T4 to T3, and also patients often find that their doctors keep them on a dose that is too low because they medicate them based on TSH.
Avatar m tn But doing this resulted in side effect like shrinking of brain leading to memory loss. He is in critical condition now. Is there any solution for this. If yes, please give that advice fast.
Avatar m tn The doctor told me to loose weight !!!!!!
Avatar f tn Since taking this medication she seems to have memory loss under stressful situations, mainly exams and her grades have dropped by 30 percent. She was always a good student and studies a lot. Nothing else explains the change and her understanding during lesson time is great according to her teachers. Is there an alternative to tegratol which does not have these side effects, or do all anti epileptic drugs cause these problems?
Avatar n tn However, more importantly, since your memory loss may or may not be related to the Celexa, it could be that your memory loss is due to something else. Plz let your Doc know about your memory loss before thinking about quitting Celexa cold turkey. Example: your memory problems could be from your actual Depression not being taken care of. When I had my 1st Major Depression, I had a form of memory loss problem, and that was BEFORE I took any meds.
Avatar n tn in NV as a distribution mgr) told me his girlfriend has severe memory loss, which has also been attributed to antidepressants. Are my concerns of memory loss due to antidepressants justified? Thanks!
Avatar f tn For the past 2 weeks I have been experiencing extreme fatigue(even with a good 8+ hours a night of sleep), occasional dizziness later in the evening and short term memory loss. I have noticed the memory loss seems to be getting worse. I find myself almost zoned out at times with my mouth open and looking confused.I am in a professional technical field and when speaking with customers on the phone I cannot remember simple things associated to my job.
Avatar f tn After finishing up with surgery, 4 rounds of chemo & 30 rounds of radiation I am now taking Femara. I am wondering if this drug in any way effects the memory, or thought process. I have been having a lot of memory loss and confusion when speaking. It's like I know what I want to say but sometimes can't seem get the correct words out. Any help would be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn I am 49 years old and have been having simple partial seizures and grand mal seizures for the past 2 years. Started out with simple partial seizures and ocular migraines, but I didn't know what it was, so I ignored it for about a year. I could tell they were getting worse and also noticed I would feel nauseous sometimes & pass out - other times smell a funny smell and pass out. I went to a neurologist and had EEG & MRI & table tilt test, nothing was found.
Avatar n tn I can understand your concern. A couple of questions--How long has this memory loss been going on, that she can't remember having taken a shower? And how long ago did she see a doctor, and what tests if any did they do when she saw him/her? If she hasn't seen a doctor lately, since she seems worse today than she has been in the past, I would call and see if the doctor can see her today. Many different conditions can cause memory problems (including alcohol and/or other drug problems).
Avatar n tn It turned out to be extreme chemical sensitivity that had caused many symptoms - loss of vision, balance, slurred speech, severe wieght loss, loss of memory long term and severe short term memory problems, tingling in hands and feet, numbness in face and head, blurred vision, heavy limbs, over heating, twitches, seizures activity, muscle pain and fatigue, concentration, loss my ability to form words and identify objects and on and on.
Avatar n tn In 2007 he had a hip replacement done and ended up having 3 operations within one week because of complications. My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. He walked in to the hospital on crutches and now is dependent on a wheelchair.
Avatar n tn I am a healthy 34 yr old male and I have been experiencing migraines over the last 4 months. The last 2 times I also experienced Memory Loss and slurred speach. I am unable to remember peoples names or common work terms for 20-30 minutes. My family has a history of migraines and my brother has had strokes in his late 20's. I recently stopped drinking and lost over 30 lbs. The migraines started after this. Would this change anything in my body to bring them on?
Avatar m tn Hi, I hope you get more responses because I'd like to know the same thing. I really don't thing they cause Alzheimer's or Dementia but memory loss can be quite varied in degree. I've been on Xanax .5mg for anxiety, agitation, depression for about 2 years. About 6 months ago I've found that my memory is profound compounded by disorientation. Like you, I lose things break china and glassware regularly. Don't know the day of the week the date and even the time of day.
Avatar f tn I guess my fiance says I have memory loss since I was pregnant. Our daughter is a month now and I guess he says I see and hear things differently then how they happen or do things I don't know I did. He said it has been since I was pregnant not before. Has this happened to anyone?
Avatar m tn I've had memory loss due to vitamin B12 malabsorption, hypothyroidism, and severe stress. Alzheimer's is also called Diabetes Type 3. A book you might want to read is called Brain Grain by David Perlmutter M.D.
Avatar n tn I am a year and half post tx and I am experiencing memory loss, processing information (use to have a wonderful sense of direction) and just not myself. I have a very hectic job and I feel there are times I cannot keep up--and yes my confidence has diminished...anyone out there feel the same way...???
