Some other complications associated with surgery are swelling of the brain, infection, seizures, memory loss, headache, difficulty concentrating, and chronic Subdural hematoma. My mother in law had her gallbladder removed and returned to work a week and a half later. Shortly after returning to work, she suffered memory loss. Thanks for the correction, yes, indeed it is expected, even a memory loss for some as well as other mental disorders. My brother-in-law has had 2 open heart surgeries for an acute heart attack and based on his recovery is my basis and other than a back pain problems he was in good health. re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking.
