8398640 tn?1398042546 a secondary issue, is to make notes looking for any discernible patterns eg.....What do you experience eg memory loss of prior knowledge, deadlines, call backs, keys, phone. When you experience it eg every Monday afternoon to end of day. What do you do prior to it happening eg Mondays take son to early morning swim practice before school run and going to work. = possibly fatigue as a secondary cause.
1704542 tn?1307505584 Mama, Welcome! Is the doc that ordered the VEP the same one who said MS does not cause pain? YIKES! Couldn't be more wrong about that - unless doc was referring to an initial complaint. In that context I can see where MS would not be the docs 1st concern. But, to say MS does not cause pain is completely inaccurate. We have an excellent health page on pain and MS if you have a chance to look at our health pages. Also, pain can often be a secondary issue to a very MS related symptom.
18432675 tn?1464832893 3 times a day, I noticed Severe Short Term Memory Loss. Spacial Memory Loss. Horrible!! I was leaving my keys in department stores. I forget Everything!! I feel like a Different Person. 50% of people say "It's the medication" It does say "Common Side Effects of gabapentin, temporary loss of memory, (amnesia), difficulty with speaking" I cannot think of certain words when speaking... Frustrating as heck!! I Never Had Any memory problems before this.
Avatar f tn My primary symptom is memory loss affecting my ability to function personally and at work. PCP thinks dpression, psychiatric NP does not. Neurologist did LP and EVP and said they were normal except Sjogren's antibodies were high with no explanantion why and she stated no follow up was necessary, not even repeat MRI in a year. 1830047 tn?1321667793 Buffy, memory loss can come from several problems. It can happen because of overindulgence - sometimes I have too much to drink, and can't remember driving home. That's scary. Traumatic brain injury can also cause memory loss. I've had memory loss from MS activity, and it happens most often when I'm not feeling well. There's something about how the memory is stored - it may not be in my short-term, or if it is, then I can't access it.
Avatar f tn SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS....HEADACHES...PAIN IN BACK AND HIPS...FATIGUE....GO OVER IN MY ANKLES ALOT.....I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S WRONG..HELLLLPPPP....
Avatar f tn Yes, it is MS. Yes, the memory holes from MS are really difficult to deal with. I also sometimes have trouble recognizing objects. Or thinking of words. It's mainly why I don't work any more. I know exactly what you mean. I have to ask my boyfriend if I have seen a movie before. Or a broadway play even - which is a much bigger deal, obviously. I don't remember meals or when I last saw a friend - or if I have paid a bill or not. So I have to pay them as soon as they come in.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry that you haven't gotten a diagnosis yet, that is so frustrating! Have they done any testing for MS? I don't know if you're having any other symptoms, but I know memory loss can happen with MS. I've been diagnosed with it for 5 years, and I have been known to put the cereal in the fridge:) There is a lot of "it's right on the tip of my tongue" also.
Avatar f tn TIRED ALL THE TIME HAD 2 MRI SCANS FOUND BLOOD CLOTS AND LESIONS BUT SAY NOT TOO WORRYING..SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS....CK LEVELS WERE LOW BUT NOW BORDERING NORMAL..GLUCOSE IS HIGH...HAVE HAD A LOT OF KIDNEY INFECTIONS......DO YOU THINK THIS IS MS.....
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are in relapse and wondered apart from the memory loss, what symptoms you are experiencing. I think that this short term memory loss/brian fog is something that many of us experience and I have found that rmemebering people's names is my greatest problem. I can be introduced to someone and then their name just goes so I have to keep working at it.
1176211 tn?1264038680 I am 47, female, among the numerous symptoms that have progressively become worse and new ones most recently I have been dealing with, first - short term memory loss which progressed to immediate memory loss with "dissolving thoughts when I am thinking on a subject, I have a split second of knowing it is going then it just goes.
Avatar f tn Neuro said the EEG looked "really good." They are scheduling me for a 24-hr EEG and Tuesday I have blood work. She did rule out MS and said she still believes its viral. I updated her on the memory loss and coordination. None of it's constant. Loss of coordination comes and goes (about one day a week). Muscle weakness comes and goes. My attitude is staying really good. The truth is out there (yeah, that was cheesy. I didn't even like the X-Files when it was on television. . .
Avatar f tn I guess my fiance says I have memory loss since I was pregnant. Our daughter is a month now and I guess he says I see and hear things differently then how they happen or do things I don't know I did. He said it has been since I was pregnant not before. Has this happened to anyone?
Avatar m tn I've had memory loss due to vitamin B12 malabsorption, hypothyroidism, and severe stress. Alzheimer's is also called Diabetes Type 3. A book you might want to read is called Brain Grain by David Perlmutter M.D.
Avatar n tn I am a year and half post tx and I am experiencing memory loss, processing information (use to have a wonderful sense of direction) and just not myself. Avatar n tn After coratid artery surgery, experiencing memory loss which is not consistently short term or long term, is it possible for the brain to reconfigure areas damaged by particles that passed through the filter and regain the ability to remember? This discussion is related to short term memory loss.
562833 tn?1233756109 Does anyone or has anyone experienced memory loss over pain killers. I feel I am losing my mind half the time. I can't remember what I was about to do, or what I need to do. And where I put stuff, I am really starting to worry about this, along with all the other things, I am worried about. maybe this is just part of my OCD. I tend to worry about everything and keep stressing about it.
Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
