Thanks for the information Yvette, she has never visit the doctor for this problem before as previously the memory loss duration only lasted for several minutes at most and I thought everyone had it once in a while. However this time, it lasted for almost half a day and eventually come back to her senses. We will be bringing her to see the doctor tommorow.
The elderly metabolise benzodiazepines more slowly than younger individuals and are also more sensitive to the effects of benzodiazepines, even at similar blood plasma levels. Doses for the elderly are recommended to be about half of that given to younger adults and are to be administered for no longer than 2 weeks. Long-acting benzodiazepines such as clonazepam are not generally recommended for the elderly due the risk of drug accumulation.
Furthermore, depressed elderly individuals have been found to report more subjective memory complaints in the absence of the frequent objective memory problems reported for demented individuals. I would recommend a diagnostic evaluation by a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist. This may also assist you in developing healthy ways of supporting him. Gosh, could be a variety of things going on. Try taking a quality and extensive vitamin/mineral supplement, break it in half, and take that a couple times a week, helps the mind work a lot better. My last memory was being in the prep room and after being shaved the nurse said she was going to get my family. I don't remember anything for the next 4 days. I have done a lot of research on the causes of acquired lexical loses, demetia such as in alzhimers is mentioned but (its a big but), its a late sx and usually in the elderly 70's+. Lesions are the more commonly refered cause (when there isn't acquired brain damage etc) in people our age, i'd have to look it up again to name the suspected area.
This was not always the case because in chilhood my memory was preety good since I remembereed most of the reading that I did, but not the same in college. I am currently doing HR and it demands that you have a good memory. I can remember numbers, but not the same when it comes to paragraphs. I am overweight but I was like this since my childhood. I also recently was diagnosed with acanthosis nigricans, which is a skin diesease. Please help me find out a cure to my memory problem urgently.

My question really is about memory loss. I am only 24 years and I feel like I am too young to be experiencing this kind of memory loss; I don't know what you want to call it but I just think maybe it's getting worse?
I always had a little hard time remembering things but recently I think it has reached a level now where it is impacting me and my surrondings. Less than a week ago, I lost my iphone, (or so I thought) when going at the post office.
However, more importantly, since your memory loss may or may not be related to the Celexa, it could be that your memory loss is due to something else.
Plz let your Doc know about your memory loss before thinking about quitting Celexa cold turkey.
Example: your memory problems could be from your actual Depression not being taken care of.
When I had my 1st Major Depression, I had a form of memory loss problem, and that was BEFORE I took any meds.

my friend got brain tumour due to a head injury 3 years ago n it spreads in her whole body. she had many surgeries n due to that she had serious memory losses 3 times in the past 3 years. in all these memory losses, she lost most of her memory but remembered few persons which were important to her. her last memory loss was occured on 28th august, 2009 due to another surgery meant for cleaning out the tumour from her whole body. this time she dun remember ANYTHING except one person.
Found nothing after 6 weeks everything went back to normal, except my eyes which have 20/20 vision but i see white noise in the dark ceiling at night. Also the light from the road at the top of the blind is all gell like,And not sharp at all.
Now nearly a year to the day, mylifes up side down.Have hissing in my ears,see stars and black specs in the sky or when i look at blank walls which also appear to have a layer of jelly over them.stright lines, light posts ect. have halos around them.

you might need to forget some of your most valuable memories to be able to regain your short term memory... Thats how computers work... when my computer starts running out of memory it gets a case of short term memory loss on a monthly basis!
GummiesMommy, are you talking about being in kind of a "fugue" state? Your last post, "I just feel like I'm crazy" is harsher than I would have described by memory loss.
Whet I was describing is math errors when doubling a recipe, can't remember a phone number, can't remember 3 items at the grocery store, lock my keys in my car repeatedly, don't screw the gas cap back in after filling the car, etc. Errors of inattention.
