Avatar n tn I would like to add that many young adults in school get tired from so much studying and this can cause a lapse in memory. I can recall falling asleep during an exam! The best thing you can do to prevent your symptoms is to spend some time away from the books and go out and exercise, which will relieve stress and help you sleep better. You will more than double your memory power by doing this, so do not worry about "wasting time" by regularly being physically active.
Avatar f tn Now that you mention you have hydrocephalus, your symptoms could be due to it. In adults the skull cannot expand to take in the extra pressure.
Avatar f tn s had some tough times in life with the loss of family members including parents. I wonder if this unusual attachment to these monkeys is him trying to keep his family's memory alive? Is he lonely? Depressed? Are these monkeys some sort of extension of him? Lately, he seems to want to interact with the monkey more than me. He hugs it and caresses it instead of me. I've tried to be understanding with an "oh that's cute" mentality, but I just don't understand anymore.

Avatar n tn I would not be worried this is short term memory loss, I suspect he is just not interested in paying attention right now and particularly to adults. You also don't state how old he is?
1339419 tn?1275966042 My short term memory is not 100% as it is, although it is not as bad as my long term memory, and when my blood pressure is really high ( 160/100+ ) I seem to have short term memory loss that increases with the increasing blood pressure numbers. Is this a direct side effect of high blood pressure, others with hypertension having suggested it effects their short term memory, or is it confined only to myself because of my memory problems?

Avatar m tn Im afraid of what I will be like when Im old. Is my increase in memory loss a sign I need to get checked? As time goes by it gets worse. Maybe I should play those memory games to train my brain back to being good! lol for real though, I am healthy my worse complaint is memory. Am I supposed to continue to see a doctor? Am I going to have to have surgery again when Im older?
Avatar f tn It is not considered to be an STD as it can be cultured in normal asexual adults. It`s role is still uncertain. I am not sure why your GYN tested for it, but since you tested positive you and your partner may consider therapy. This is confusing I know. We don`t test or treat for it in our clinic.
Avatar f tn Today is the day that the children come back. Im observing in memory of all my lost babies. Tomorrow is when the adults come back. Marigolds and sugar skulls is traditional.
Avatar n tn My otherwise healthy 48 year old husband had mitral valve repair two months ago. One of the side effects we weren't prepared for was his post op memory loss (mostly short term memory). This site helped us realize this was a common result of surgery and medications...but I'd love to know how long it takes to return to "normal", and if there's anything he can do/take to speed the process up. Thanks!
1318483 tn?1318347182 Hi, all- I was wondering if any of you all know of what could mimic an MS hug. Especially if the person is having headaches and memory loss and poor sleeping patterns. She has also been experiencing hives. This person is female, age 15, who has a history of sexual abuse. I suspect PTSD...maybe panic attacks? What do you think? I will say she just got a referral to a neuro and has an MRI and C-scan scheduled.

Avatar n tn My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. He walked in to the hospital on crutches and now is dependent on a wheelchair.
Avatar m tn Hi my name is Robin, and mmy concern is that my memory has become very weak in last 10 years. Now what I mean is that I am unable to remember any study material in college such as large paragraphs, even after revision. I can only remember one or tweo lines. This was not always the case because in chilhood my memory was preety good since I remembereed most of the reading that I did, but not the same in college. I am currently doing HR and it demands that you have a good memory.
Avatar n tn It indicated that half of people undergoing bypass surgery developed memory or thinking problems in the days following it, and that these problems were usually still evident five years later. A different viewpoint: Johns Hopkins researchers who have been at the forefront of this field reviewed the evidence on short-term and long-term mental changes after bypass surgery.
