Avatar f tn That really kicked up the PTSD, I have memory loss, ect. and now also have a diagnosed with cyclical vomiting syndrome, which is tied into the PTSD.I am trying to process this grief but I just can't seem to get there.Instead the stress manifests physically to where I start vomiting with excruciating stomach cramps, and then end up in the hosp with dehydration and electrolyte replacement. This is so frustrating as I logicaly know whats happening but physically i cant stop it.
Avatar f tn It being six years should be time to learn how to cope with the loss. Again, always have the grief, but there are ways to learn how to go on with life. My Momma, I am the baby but spent more time over the years have spent the most time with her. I was with her lots and at the end, Feb this year I was the child that was with her at the hospice. It hurts, beyond what I thought it could hurt. I am 54. I have gone for grief counselling and it has been helpful. My psych has helped me .
Avatar m tn No, not at all...sorry to hear about your profound loss....grief takes many forms, and talking to the image in your head that represents the memory of your life, is not uncommon...she is still a prescence in your mind. But if the line between memory and reality becomes blurred for you at some time, then you should seek professional help to sort it out.
Avatar f tn Memory and motivation problems are a symptom of hypothyroidism (under medication). It sounds like your stepdad might need his meds adjusted. Can you post his most recent thyroid lab work with reference ranges? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from his own lab report. What is he taking for meds? Does he have other symptoms?
Avatar f tn Well I looked it up. That can cause short term memory loss. I think you took to many of them.
Avatar n tn I had a TIA in 2006 but seem to still be experiencing some memory loss. I still forget common words fairly frequently and sometimes my thought patterns feel confused. Is this a normal side effect of a TIA? My doctors told me there is no brain damage and thus no side effects but I seem to experience them. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Particularly this long after a TIA? In response to another post, my MIAs showed nothing as well.
Avatar f tn I would like to extend a personal invitation to a new group (forum) called "Pet Grief Support - "In Memory of Our Pet", which I felt was necessary for people who have experienced the loss of a beloved pet. On February 01, 2001, my life was suddenly and unexpectedly changed forever when I loss my most beloved 10 yr. old furbaby rottweiler Toby to a sudden heart attack.
Avatar f tn There was somewhat more memory loss than the normal memory loss of depression. Bonce reminded, I usually got it back. The procedure is not scary unless you dislike short-term anesthesia, and, of course, you're not conscious for about 5 or 10 minutes. Where I went I was doing this outpatient. The saff and medical personnel were pleasant and respectful.
Avatar f tn m so sorry for your loss. Time heals all wounds so be patient with yourself to heal. Join a grief counseling support group if that helps, it helps to talk to others who relate and learn good coping skills through this on how to deal with such pain. When my mom died my dad told me she was not in pain anymore rocking out in sparkly pjs in heaven. It was a nice thought to know or believe they are in a better place even if it was to soon for her to go.
Avatar n tn I would not be worried this is short term memory loss, I suspect he is just not interested in paying attention right now and particularly to adults. You also don't state how old he is?
Avatar n tn In 2007 he had a hip replacement done and ended up having 3 operations within one week because of complications. My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. He walked in to the hospital on crutches and now is dependent on a wheelchair.

1195411 tn?1277328333 There are professionals out there that focus on m/c and grief. You may find that to help. Grief is a terrible road to walk down and it can be quite bumpy. The road can start to feel like it goes on forever. Our bodies need time to heal it take 3 or more cycles for everything to regulate. Our general health may be the affected the most. It's very important to have a follow up app w your dr to ensure that your body is healing and that there are no signs of any complications.

276730 tn?1327962946 My deepest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your son. No words can express a parent's grief nor relieve them during such a loss as this.
Tbd Grief passes, I guess, but really. Having gone through therapy after my loss, the specialist in grief said that our mind protects us. And this is a good thing. The feelings after a death can be so intense that one can't function (me). Overwhelming loss can be too much to handle at times. Especially on days like an important anniversary. It was their recommendation to make it a special day for myself.
897800 tn?1269964390 s important to talk about your feelings, but there is really no way around the pain of loss. Honor his memory, by simply living life as productive, good person. I also have very strong faith in God and He is a loving, merciful, forgiving God and will take care of your father.
