Avatar n tn I can understand your concern. A couple of questions--How long has this memory loss been going on, that she can't remember having taken a shower? And how long ago did she see a doctor, and what tests if any did they do when she saw him/her? If she hasn't seen a doctor lately, since she seems worse today than she has been in the past, I would call and see if the doctor can see her today. Many different conditions can cause memory problems (including alcohol and/or other drug problems).

Avatar f tn Although she is in age of 80s and most common memory problems come with this elderly age as an Alzheimer’s disease, but it is essential other possibilities of memory loss and other symptoms like hormonal imbalance, stress/depression, and vitamin deficiency need to be evaluated thoroughly. In this disease, normal day-to-day activities have been affected more than memory loss. Therefore, I would suggest consulting a doctor to rule out other possibilities first with the help of doctor.

Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
