Avatar f tn After finishing up with surgery, 4 rounds of chemo & 30 rounds of radiation I am now taking Femara. I am wondering if this drug in any way effects the memory, or thought process. I have been having a lot of memory loss and confusion when speaking. It's like I know what I want to say but sometimes can't seem get the correct words out. Any help would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn My vision in my right eye has deteriorated where i cannot see the big E at the top of the chart with or without correction. My doc said my symptoms sound like cataract, except after exam he said my eye looks VERY healthy, no retina, lens, vascular.... with the exception of a small, swollen area. He ordered a CT scan, which I had last Thurs. I noticed my vision changing during a course of chemo for breast cancer last fall. They said blurry vision was a common side effect from chemo....
Avatar f tn Such side effects of chemotherapy are hair loss, nausea, vomiting, short term memory loss, itching, etc.
Avatar n tn I asked him over and over again if chemo caused loss of eyesight and cataracts, the first time around he dared to say no it does not, I asked again and his NO began to weaken, until he told me the truth. I never thought I could be so rude to someone I had appreciated so much, but he lied to me. He could have warned me so I would take my precautions and avoid such a damage.

Avatar f tn Can chemothearpy drugs be stored in fat cells that can latter be released with wieght loss? I finished my treatments for Hodgkings Lymphoma May of 2006. It is now June of 2008. 167426 tn?1254086235 Imaging tests have shown smaller brain size in the areas of the brain that are part of memory, planning, putting thoughts into action, monitoring thought processes and behavior, and inhibition. Though the brain usually recovers over time, these findings confirm that the sometimes vague, yet distressing mental changes cancer patients experience are real, affect daily activities, and warrant further research. Chemobrain is real. You are not going crazy.

Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.
