Could B12 deficiency cause racing heart beat that skips a beat (currently taking Flecainide and Toprol to control that), headaches, dizziness, depression, irritability, mood swings, loss of sex drive, joint pain, and insomnia? I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides (taking Lipitor and Tricor). In addition I take Topamax as a preventative for migraines and Ultram and meloxicam for joint pain, and aspirin for heart health. Thanks for any info you can give me at this point.
I searched on the net, and I had most of the symptoms of the vitamin B12 deficiency except for the weight loss part (damn, lol) I feel much better after taking supplements and injection but I still feel a sharp pain like needles on my fingers and toes, sometimes a tingling at my thighs which are common symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. I'm also considering an another doctor to get the cause of this. I also posted this topic in the Pain Management Forum, maybe you can get some insight.

sinus surgery, sebaceous cyst on scalp (no known reason) complete hair loss in area and surrounding scalp hair loss, but all thyroid tests normal. Looked at fibromialgia and similar disorders due to swelling and muscle and facial pain, chronic neck pain and headaches. The only other strange things that hasn’t been chased is a note of some like of possible cyst on the spleen.
There was some evidence of small cervical fracture, but conservative treatment got me out of hospital but still had intense pain, unable to handle files etc at work or type, drive, made harder by only fitful light sleep as unable to rest on back of head, and lying on side brought limbs into contact with covers or under pressure of body weight. Had slowly rehabilitated myself to half time therapy work - with help of weekly hypnosis/acupuncture/physio and daily healing meditation plus CBT.

First of all I am not a nurse ot doctor but I wanted to comment on the hair loss. I have also been prescribed topamax for pain, mood stabilizer and weight loss so I have been looking a lot on the net. I have seen a few things about hair loss. I wanted to comment on that. I have been a hairstylist for 24 years and one thing that I have noticed without doubt is that when one of my customers loses a significant amount of weight (25 lbs or more) they always have a loss of hair.
Thank you so much for your reply! I crossing my fingers and toes that it is not cancer, and if I had to make an educated guess, I would say that it probably has something to do with an auto-immune disorder. It is tough though not knowing and also the doctors not knowing. I am looking into getting some kind of assistance so i can look into it further. Until I can rule that out, it is a little scary. I know that reading on the internet can make things worse, but its hard not too.
She has been failing increasingly over the last 6 - 9 mos -- losing weight despite the fact he is feeding her constantly. She only picks at dry food so he switch her to canned. She does not seem to be able to absorb the food -- keeps losing weight and is constantly hungry -- wakes him up at 5am barking for food. About 6 mos ago she started reversing her housetraining -- she'll go outside for 20 - 40 min and will not potty, but the instant inside, she empties herself.
I've added meloxicam and Topamax to the list, but I've cut back on taking meloxicam and just learned to live with the joint aches/pains. My spleen and liver are both swollen now, according to my GP, and I read somewhere online that this can cause the sinuses to become inflamed...so maybe this is what happened with mine. I also discovered from my CT scan that I have atelectasis in my left lung (the swelling in my neck is on the right side, go figure), which is a little disturbing...

Good morning everyone! I 'm sorry for such a basic question but I am at a loss. I have been trying to understand the 2010 McDonald Criteria for diagnosing MS. I read the Health Pages and other places for the new revised criteria for 2010. What I don't understand is what it means. Maybe it is just my usual confused brain, but I can't for some reason figure out what they mean. Can anyone explain the different ways the MC is used but use different words from "time and space" etc.
TOPAMAX is used at times for weight loss...I was on it and had no such luck.....but I was not able to increase the dosage.....as I had other ill effects from it....The side effects of this med are usually during the first 2 weeks and then things calm down or we adjust to it....I know I wanted to stop the med b4 that time bcuz how it made me feel, but my Dr talked me into staying with it and it was amazing how u can get passed that awkward phase.
I was in a small sports car. My car was a total loss but I walked into the ambulance just to get checked out. I went to a couple of doctors since I had back pain etc did PT and 2 months later my hip is in so much pain. It started after my PT stretched me. I came home and my groin was throbbing. I went to 3 drs they all said its a nerve in your back lets inject it. I was hesitant so I didn't. I decided to go back to dr that did hip surgery and he said you're right its a hip strain.
Has weight loss helped in any way?
I started piling on the weight and got very lethargic until i decided i need help so i went to a sureslim centre that helps you manage your weight control with one of their weight loss plans. The 6 month course costs £460 but before you can start the course they send you off to have a full blood test that requires you to not eat or drink anything except water for 12 hrs.

There have been rare reported cases where the virus can last years - the longest reported being 9 years. I am a healthy normal weight female and this is the absolute worst sickness I have ever had, including flu and pneumonia. Hope this helps someone else to get through it. For most, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
This is huge because I am a bit obsessive over watching my weight, weighing each day. -- I'm a 27 year old mom of 3 little boys, and weight 142 so any weight I lose I cheer over. Needless to say, I was very disheartened to see the increase in weight! The sores (and pain) are gone, and I have stopped all three suppliments, but I may go on a low dose of l-lysine just for maintenance purposes, because I cannot afford to change my diet too dramatically.
and can be symptoms of both hypo and hyper. For example, people who have a (genetic?) tendency to gain weight can start putting on pounds both hypo and hyper. Many of us with years of experience with thyroid meds can pretty much tell our doctors whether we're hypo or hyper, but even some of us occasionally get ourselves into trouble this way. Lab support helps you to distinguish.

There is a space just above the mattress for my heals, so I can get some dorsiflexion. He also made a brace for the side of the bed. In the middle of the bed I put a 10 lb weight with some ankle weights to help keep it from rolling. I always have the foot of my bad leg on one of these to keep my toe from pointing. I am to the point that most nights I don't have cramps. If i feel them coming on I quickly put my foot back on one of the braces. I am gradually increasing my exercise.
Mine Bernese is 9 and because of rear leg weakness, loss of appetite and general depression, I had the test done again. Her values changed to be a Cushings free dog yet the poor signs above are still here. No energy at all - Random poor breathing also but xray shows lungs and heart are good. Passed some kidney cells in weak urine. Some compression of 2 discs near her rear and very high white cell count. Its been almost 2 weeks overall - Vet gave a shot of antibiotic and prescribed 3.
If you want to do this, you need to be sure you still have a sample of tissue and/or blood, as I understand it. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss - we totally understand the pain you're experiencing. It sounds like you did the best you could to let your kitty know how much you loved her. Good luck.
multilevel mild to moderate degenerative disc disease changes...from approximately T3 through T9, manifested as loss of disc space height, disc dehydrative changes, mild disc bulging and mild endplate spondylosis changes, also several levels of mild endplate reactive changes anteriorly. Anyway, I went to see an interventional radiologist, who told me he didn't know why I had come to see him; it was too late to do a vertebroplasty.
