meloxicam and weight loss

I have been on Meloxicam for about 4 months and have gained 20 pounds and i feel swollen. I am also on highblood pressure meds. I just quit taking the Meloxicam. Does anyone know if the weight goes away? How long does it take for bloated feeling to go away?

I have gained a considerable amount of weight will taking Meloxicam. Once I stop taking will the weight come off??

Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..

Her knees have been swollen ever since and she has arthritis in the left one. It is now almost January (7 months ) later and we are still dealing with this with NO answers. She is on Meloxicam daily to manage the pain. She will have a good two or three weeks then a bad few days then the cycle repeats itself. She had strep throat Nov 16 which she took all the medicine and the symptoms went away.

Is it possible that Meloxicam could have eased my depression? I was on Meloxicam for a couple of weeks (for back pain) and noticed a huge improvement in my mood. Was this just a coincidence?

Drowsiness; Dry Mouth; Increased Sweating; Headache; Loss of Appetite; Nausea. This is not complete and I am sure there are more, less common side effects. I took Tramadol for a short term but it was simply not effective for me. Among the side effects are dry mouth, this would seem to indicate that your mucosa can be dry which may account for your dry eyes. I cannot find reports of ENT side effects such as your under water feeling.

Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.

do not take over 15mg of meloxicam daily and do not take other nsaids with it at all....if you must take another pain med then take tylenol....this what my doctor told me....and eat something before you take it also....

m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.

I thought it was the start of some horrible disease until I thought to look up the side effects of meloxicam. I quit meloxicam and started feeling better after a couple of days (it take a few days to get out of your system because it has a relatively long half-life). After about 2 weeks I'm pretty much back to normal. I hope y'all eventually recovered as well - that was scary!

Hydrochlorothiazine is a diuretic and also use for BP control. Again same question is your BP high and uncontrolled? If you can address weight and exercise the need for this may be reduced. Meloxicam is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory. It is used to treat the pain from rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Do you have either of these conditions? If not, and if your pain levels are manageable, you may ask your dr about discontinuing this drug.

I searched on the net, and I had most of the symptoms of the vitamin B12 deficiency except for the weight loss part (damn, lol) I feel much better after taking supplements and injection but I still feel a sharp pain like needles on my fingers and toes, sometimes a tingling at my thighs which are common symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. I'm also considering an another doctor to get the cause of this. I also posted this topic in the Pain Management Forum, maybe you can get some insight.

they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic

I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.

I have had both 800mg IB. And 800mg Meloxicam and one thing I know being on numerious medications for the past 10 years due to bad car accidents, is that your body will build a tolerance to all medications I'm no Dr but my best advice is to consult your Dr about alternating between both so that way your body doesn't build a high tolerance and they stop working altogether.

Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.

I was prescribe Meloxicam and tynolol with codiene,is this a good combination for severe arthritis?

It's rather low. How do you feel? Have you always had a slow rate, or did it change with the doxazosin? Is your MD aware? I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides (taking Lipitor and Tricor). In addition I take Topamax as a preventative for migraines and Ultram and Meloxicam for joint pain, and aspirin for heart health. Thanks for any info you can give me at this point. I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), high blood pressure (meloxicam) and stomach ulcers. Also, the anti-platelet effect of aspirin (which is how it prevents heart attacks) is reduced when taken with daily ibuprofen/naproxen. I hope this helps!

I broke my ribs about 10 months ago. I have been on 5mg vicodins since then. I have changed doctors and she won't prescribe the vicodin anymore. She prescribed me meloxicam (normally used to treat arthiritis?). What can I expect from this drug? Is it stronger and does it work better than prescription-strength naproxin? What kind of side-effects does it have? Does it affect your mood like vicodin does? I'm just wondering about other people's experiences with this drug. thanks.

Hi there! I'm a 28 year old male, and I have a question about NSAIDs for chronic pain. I use ibuprofen daily most of the time for a torn meniscus in my left knee that I had surgery on and I have arthritis too. I also take it for a herniated disc (L-5) and ankle pain. I have acid reflux disease and esophagus problems as well. Is it safe to take all this Ibuprofen with the stomach problems I have, or should I talk to my Dr. about possibly prescribing another medication?
