) Anyway, now he has been sent to a pain clinic for the severe pain he is in. They know about the hep c and prescribed him meloxicam. Should he be taking this? I thought this was a drug that can harm the liver. When we said something to the nurse at the pain clinic ( who knows about the hep c) she replied he should take it anyway, just see what happens. Is this right.
they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic
Found out the meloxicam and vicodin didn't agree well with my body together. The Dr. took me off meloxicam and put me on a steroid (Prednisone). Its only been a couple of days but I already feel better and the night fevers and crazy night sweats are pretty much gone.
Even when I hurt myself at work and had to get stitches, they gave me a bottle of vicodin, and I never took it. The only time I took anything was Midol for cramps. So almost every pill I take hurts my stomach. Even now that I'm not really on any medication, if I take Tylenol or Advil, they still hurt my stomach. So you're not alone.
I have changed doctors and she won't prescribe the vicodin anymore. She prescribed me meloxicam (normally used to treat arthiritis?). What can I expect from this drug? Is it stronger and does it work better than prescription-strength naproxin? What kind of side-effects does it have? Does it affect your mood like vicodin does? I'm just wondering about other people's experiences with this drug. thanks.
I'm now receiving 180 per month along with 90 cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) per month. I also receive 30 meloxicam per month for swelling and pain. Even with all these meds I'm still in pain. My knees, my hips, and my back. Some days I can't bend over to tie my shoes and if I bend over, I can't stand back up straight. I have gone back and forth to my VA doctors, but still no relief. I am so very tired of being in pain. I have been diagnosed with depression, I suffer from PTSD.
Sorry for being so impatient but I posted a question awhile ago about taking meloxicam or Elavil to help with withdrawals from vicodin....does anyone know if either one of these helps or what I can do in order to make this go smoother?? Please let me know.
for the last 6 years they have had me taking everything from tramadol, xanax, morphine, diladud, oxycontin, oxcycodone, codeine, oxcycodone ir, vicodin, norco, soma, flexeril, meloxicam, mobic, on top of that I used to be an alcoholic, and use illegal drugs cocaine mostly weed, and whatever else to stop the pain from the total disc replacement surgery in my back. Here is the ****** up part, I can't get off them even if I wanted to, I would be in chronic pain and I am only 37 years old.
Been back to my reumatoid specialist Endep (relaxant), panadol osteo(for pain) and meloxicam (anti-inflammator) he says, as apposed to the "addictive" tremal I was on. I've stared this, and all I can say is way more PAIN, PAIN, and PAIN! I take endep at night, and have found to get out of bed still have to take tremal in morning. So much pain, endep does relax me a bit, however it and panadol do absolutely NOTHING for pain!
25 mg xanax, 200 mg Modafinil, 20 mg FLUoxetine, 325mg Acetaminophen for a few days till the 5/325 vicodin comes in and 15 mg meloxicam and i asked the pharmacy at walmart if there would be any negative side effects from taking all of these at one time how there prescribed to take all in the morning?
cant find a new doc, mine is a jerk and wont perscribe me anything more then a few vicodin a month cause he says everyone gets additicted to them. now he sent me to see another spine doctor only because i called up to him and spoke with the nurse and she alerted me to something in med. files that i finally found out was alarming and was not told of. so here goes and was urgently sent for an mri.
Last night felt as if I was having a stroke. My though process was interrupted, and I felt helpless and dizzy. Dull achey pain during day and more obliterating pain at night. I am on several meds right now... Xanex .25 milx2 per day, meloxicam 10mil x2 per day and vicodin 5mil x6 per day. If the pain meds are not taking this pain away I am afraid of how bad the pain really is, and if I will be able to handle it. I am with Kaiser, and it has been hard to get a correct diagnosis. Please help.
2 months ago I requested to drop to the 10mg Oxycontin. I also have been taking meloxicam and Cyclobenzaprine PRN. I asked my GP, who I have been seeing since early childhood and who I trust completely in medical matters, to attempt a Non-narcotic treatment plan. He took me off the meloxicam and put me on Toradol (Ketorolac) 10mg 3xDaily. Now, I have researched a bit about the drug, checking the insert and also several websites, such as Drugs.

since i have been on the meloxicam my bursitis(which i have delt with for fifteen years and no meds) flared up and has not subsided, my body still aches daily and i take vicodin at night so i can sleep which does help. i am seeing a rheumatologist next month (i am very nervous) and i dont know what type of questions i should ask. im only 27 and everyone doubts my pain. i would be very gratefull for any advice.
I am getting pains, that come and go, right between my scrotum and my rectum. It feels liek someone is stabbing a knife into me. The first two times it happened it was bareable but still hurt like a mother. It happened on time when i sneezed and happened one time when i jumped off a step to the ground. It was only like a 2 foot drop though but that really hurt. This last time it happened i was driving and it was the worst yet.
I found the diamox helped but than they put the shunt in and it basically does the same thing. vicodin made me not care it hurt and I could get stuff done. But everyone is diffrent and u just have to play around with things.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to become addicted to Tramadol if I only take it for a couple of weeks? I suffer from low back pain that right now I take 15 mg of meloxicam and 90 mg of Cymbalta for. I've been experiencing more pain lately at times throughout the day. I have some 50 mg Tramadol left over from a previous prescription (taken for my back pain also).
Went to my doc today and i was crying because i went to my caseworker asking for some financial assistance and she was very mean and rude and to make a long story short i was feeling very alone so went to my docter and told her about my headaches (I do get bad headaches alot) and she put me on a med called mobic for my headaches have you ever heard of it and if so what exactly is it? She also put me on ativan 0.5mg for anxiety and Bancap 5/500 prn for headaches.
since i have been on the meloxicam my bursitis(which i have delt with for fifteen years and no meds) flared up and has not subsided, my body still aches daily and i take vicodin at night so i can sleep. i am seeing a rheumatologist next month (i am very nervous) and i dont know what type of questions i should ask. im only 27 and everyone doubts my pain.
I am on treximet, toprol (that is for the POTS) and vicodin. I have had to go to my doctors office a few times go get a shot of pain/nausea meds. He said at my last appt, that he didn't prescribe me enough pain meds. Which surprised the heck out of me! I could stop taking mine at any minute and have before, but with the pain, I can't let it get ahead of me and I really don't take much. My treximet, I only get 6 pills a month.
My legs and arms feel really heavy and achy and I am getting swelling around the joints in my hands. This is along with other stuff that's been going on for a while, but seems to be getting much worse lately. The backs of my hands hurt, along with my fingers, wrists, ankles, hips, elbows, shoulders (knees seem to have escaped, go figure). It hurts when someone touches me, mostly my back and rib cage and arms. I am so tired.
In the past my doctors have tried me on morphien, they give me a does that my dad learned should have put me out, but it barely di a thing. They also tried vicodin 5/500mg, after about 1 hour my headache went to what I call a # 3 and I got really talkitive. My family says kinda drunk, happy, but it only last one 1/ hour. Sad thing is my headache is coming bach. This medication is supposed to last 6 hours. They ar trying me on meloxicam 7.
Hi and Welcome Tramadol Warriors, Please come on in and make yourself comfy. All are welcome.
I have been taking 5-300 of vicodin about 4 a day and 350 mg of Soma about 4-6 a day for over 2 years. At my last Doctors visit on Friday he decided instead of increasing the amount of vicodin to put me on a round the clock pain killer Fentynol Patches starting out at 12 mcg just to see if I can handle it because I am allergic to Tramadol and Darvacet and Oxycodone so far no allergic reactions.
I'll be fine for months on end and then all of a sudden the lungs in the back tighten up and its the most painful thing I've ever had. Once i get an episode it will last for 3-4 days and the doctor told me all I can do is take vicodin to relieve the pain...... I wish there was something I could do to prevent the onset of pleurisy.... any help would be great...
The have tried pain management techniques, chiropractic therapy, bio feed back, the list goes on. They have tried morphine, and vicodin among other drugs they and these did not help. They are trying meloxicam usually just called Mobic. I looked it up, it doesn't say anything about being for pain, but it is an anti inflammatory med, so I wondered if anyone else had experience with this medication. It is good for slowing down my osteoporosis so that's good.
Discectamy in 1996 and now a 3 level disc fusion on July 28 2014 and am still very week and VERY sore. What can I expect here? In perfect health otherwise. S-1 to L4 I believe with 2 Titanium bars, 2 things connecting them horizontally and 8 screws bottom 2 in my pelvis. It was done in Pittsburgh Presby. The WHOLE crew were great (note to self, SEND THEM A CARD ALREADY lol ).The disco gram was excruciatingly painful so that meant it had to be fixed after 20 years.!.
I am a divorced dad of a wonderful 5 year old daughter and my ex is also on me about taking the meds as I did when we were married. I know I am addicted/dependent on the vicodin for the pain in my back and have had times where I've suffered through withdrawals because I've run out way too early. The vicodin also makes me pretty moody at times and have snapped at my daughter a few times and I'm quite sure it helped fuel it.
For many months I was taking 30mg mobic (meloxicam), which is a long term NSAID/Cox2 inhibitor, and this did not help/greatly diminish the pain. After that, I was gradually put on one med after another, until I was taking gabapentin, cymbalta and vicodin, as well as plaquenil and methotrexate for lupus related symptoms. I was feeling little pain at this point (though I had cognitive issues), and tried taking acetaminophen instead of vicodin.
