Avatar m tn Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..
Avatar n tn I have been on Meloxicam for about 4 months and have gained 20 pounds and i feel swollen. I am also on highblood pressure meds. I just quit taking the Meloxicam. Does anyone know if the weight goes away? How long does it take for bloated feeling to go away?
Business man2 I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), high blood pressure (meloxicam) and stomach ulcers. Also, the anti-platelet effect of aspirin (which is how it prevents heart attacks) is reduced when taken with daily ibuprofen/naproxen. I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn You may be justified for your opinion of the ddrug in question. Meloxicam can increase your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. Do not use this medicine just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG). Seek emergency medical help if you have symptoms of heart or circulation problems, such as chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, or problems with vision or balance.
Avatar m tn It's rather low. How do you feel? Have you always had a slow rate, or did it change with the doxazosin? Is your MD aware? This heart rate may be fine for you if you feel okay and you don't have blue lips and don't feel faint if you stand up, Make sure your MD is aware and has the option of changing your meds if necessary.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that Meloxicam could have eased my depression? I was on Meloxicam for a couple of weeks (for back pain) and noticed a huge improvement in my mood. Was this just a coincidence?
1305767 tn?1361192676 do not take over 15mg of meloxicam daily and do not take other nsaids with it at all....if you must take another pain med then take tylenol....this what my doctor told me....and eat something before you take it also....
Avatar n tn I thought it was the start of some horrible disease until I thought to look up the side effects of meloxicam. I quit meloxicam and started feeling better after a couple of days (it take a few days to get out of your system because it has a relatively long half-life). After about 2 weeks I'm pretty much back to normal. I hope y'all eventually recovered as well - that was scary!
Avatar m tn My medications are Meloxicam, Tramadol, Baclofen for arthritis and sever muscle spasms. Could any of these in conjunction with the lidocaine that was mixed with the cortizone be causing this and this is just a temporary condition?
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar m tn I also have Crohn's disease, and I am curently on Remicade and Pentasa. Recently I began having agonizing joint pains. The last time I got Remicade, the pains went aways immediately, however they came back after 3 weeks. I only get the Remicade Infusion once every six weeks, so I am looking into what I can take for the joint pain in between. I am currently trying Tylenol and Tramadol, but they don't work all that well for me.
Avatar f tn It started off mild and got worse and worse. My rheumatologist took me off of meloxicam (and consequently rabeprazol) when he got those results, so i doubt he'd send me to get cortisone shots. actually, meloxicam wasn't helping in any way. currently, i'm only taking a variety of vitamins and otc pain relievers, so i don't think i'm highly sensitive. i've seen an allergist, and have seasonal allergies, but no other major ones.
175688 tn?1297556647 they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic
Avatar f tn Non steroidal anti inflammatory medications do have documented affects on the heart including raising blood pressure. They work so well for pain and immflamation that it is a real shame. Some will have more of an effect than others. To note, Mobic is also an Nsaid. But perhaps has less heart effect. Here's an article I found helpful https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise?
Avatar f tn t think I had that , also mild back flow of left heart valve. Treatment was a shot of cortisone in each hip and priscribed Meloxicam 1 day for 6 weeks this all helped a great deal.
Avatar m tn I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.
Avatar m tn I have had both 800mg IB. And 800mg Meloxicam and one thing I know being on numerious medications for the past 10 years due to bad car accidents, is that your body will build a tolerance to all medications I'm no Dr but my best advice is to consult your Dr about alternating between both so that way your body doesn't build a high tolerance and they stop working altogether.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.
Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I have gained a considerable amount of weight will taking Meloxicam. Once I stop taking will the weight come off??
Avatar f tn Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.
Avatar m tn Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.
Avatar f tn since i have been on the meloxicam my bursitis(which i have delt with for fifteen years and no meds) flared up and has not subsided, my body still aches daily and i take vicodin at night so i can sleep. i am seeing a rheumatologist next month (i am very nervous) and i dont know what type of questions i should ask. im only 27 and everyone doubts my pain.
Avatar n tn I was prescribe Meloxicam and tynolol with codiene,is this a good combination for severe arthritis?
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
Avatar f tn This drug is controversial and the benefits are questionable, particularly among women and people who have never had a heart attack. Is your cholesterol very high? You can address this again with low carb / keto diet. If you are taking the meloxicam to address the side effects of this drug then it would probably be rational to discuss stopping both with your doctor. Thyroxine is for hypothyroid. It is very important to treat low thyroid adequately.
