Avatar n tn I also have high blood pressure and take Ibuprofen (which is like meloxicam as its an NSAID), I was told to drink MORE water so that the Ibuprofen doesn't make the blood pressure worse. Its some sort of chemical thing, a pharmacist told me once. Ever since then, my blood pressure has been so much better. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Non steroidal anti inflammatory medications do have documented affects on the heart including raising blood pressure. They work so well for pain and immflamation that it is a real shame. Some will have more of an effect than others. To note, Mobic is also an Nsaid. But perhaps has less heart effect. Here's an article I found helpful https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise?
Avatar m tn Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..
Avatar f tn Hi, let's look at what these drugs are for. Metformin is for diabetes. It is an insulin sensitizer. Low carb / ketogenic diet combined with metformin can be a great help in managing diabetes. How is your Hba1c? Normal is ideally close to 5.0, but at least try to get lower than 6.0. If your hba1c is high then there can be many complications. Thus getting your blood sugar to normal levels should be first priority. Telmisaran is a drug for high blood pressure. is your BP high?
Avatar n tn Is it possible that Meloxicam could have eased my depression? I was on Meloxicam for a couple of weeks (for back pain) and noticed a huge improvement in my mood. Was this just a coincidence?
1930941 tn?1400107522 Not sure if you all remember but i have complained about a lot of muscle aches and thought maybe it was PAWS. Well its not....had blood work done on Monday and its showed positive Arthritis and high sed rate. I have been clean and sober for 308 days and the pain recently has really been pushing my limits. Maybe I never noticed that last few years cause of the pain meds I took. But I am only 42, and now this crap.
Avatar m tn I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.
1305767 tn?1361192676 do not take over 15mg of meloxicam daily and do not take other nsaids with it at all....if you must take another pain med then take tylenol....this what my doctor told me....and eat something before you take it also....
Avatar n tn I thought it was the start of some horrible disease until I thought to look up the side effects of meloxicam. I quit meloxicam and started feeling better after a couple of days (it take a few days to get out of your system because it has a relatively long half-life). After about 2 weeks I'm pretty much back to normal. I hope y'all eventually recovered as well - that was scary!
Business man2 I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), high blood pressure (meloxicam) and stomach ulcers. Also, the anti-platelet effect of aspirin (which is how it prevents heart attacks) is reduced when taken with daily ibuprofen/naproxen. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn It is difficult to diagnose the cause of headaches on net. Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, tension headaches, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache can cause similar symptoms. Please consult a headache and migraine specialist to rule out these causes one by one. Take care!
175688 tn?1297556647 they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic
Avatar f tn He ordered an xray of my right rib cage and prescribed me Meloxicam 15 mg. The Meloxicam has helped some... meaning I am able to get up and walk around with constant dull to medium pain in the same place, and sharp pain returns regularly but not constantly. The xray results showed up nothing abnormal. I am a very active person and since 4 days ago can hardly get out of bed without terrible pain. Does anyone have ideas of what could be going on?

Avatar m tn I have had both 800mg IB. And 800mg Meloxicam and one thing I know being on numerious medications for the past 10 years due to bad car accidents, is that your body will build a tolerance to all medications I'm no Dr but my best advice is to consult your Dr about alternating between both so that way your body doesn't build a high tolerance and they stop working altogether.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.
Avatar f tn Lower back and stomach pain; Vomiting; Diarrhea; Low blood pressure; High potassium levels; Lack of menstruation. My mother had a very low cortisol level and it was caused by Addison's Disease. Later she got Hashimoto's as well Type I Diabetes. I would say that maybe a low cortisol and a high TSH together might be cause for a high starting dose of thyroid medication. 150 mcg to start is quite high. Your doctor obviously has a reason to start you on the high dose.
Avatar f tn I have stopped taking my pain pills for my back problem (Meloxicam and Tramadol) and only take my blood pressure and thyroid meds. Stopped taking vitamins and supplements too (one-a-day, B-150, chromium picolinate) but have to take Melatonin, D3 and calcium to help me sleep most nights if I haven't taken the Maxalt.
Avatar m tn I have gained a considerable amount of weight will taking Meloxicam. Once I stop taking will the weight come off??
1256021 tn?1269377814 Also... I have Sciatic symptoms due to lumbar disc issues. The area becomes inflamed, puts pressure on the nerve, then I start walking around in pain / like an old man. The docs eventually put me on NSAIDs (Celebrex and then Meloxicam) and I praise their name every single day since.
Avatar m tn I recently had an Echocardiogram at my doctors request after I had a syncopy 3days after a cortizone injection in my neck for an auto accident. I had mentioned to him that when I left the military, my physical showed I had a sinus bradycadia on my EKG. The technician told me that my heartbeat wasn't strong and vigerous but a bit weak. My blood pressure runs a lttle elevated maybe due to the cortizone injections that I receive for various orthopedic conditions and arthritis.
Avatar m tn Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.
Avatar n tn I was prescribe Meloxicam and tynolol with codiene,is this a good combination for severe arthritis?
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
