I was bleeding for 3 months straight and my obgyn put me on medroxyprogesterone to make it stop. I started it the day before I was predicted to ovulated. I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?

Medroxyprogesterone is used to treat abnormal menstruation (periods) or irregular vaginal bleeding. Medroxyprogesterone is also used to bring on a normal menstrual cycle in women who menstruated normally in the past but have not menstruated for at least 6 months and who are not pregnant or undergoing menopause (change of life).

got prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg to stop my bleeding of 2months. how long does it take to work? I been taking it for 3days and still heavy bleeding.
I have been going crazy trying to find out how to stop the bleeding myself but there really seems to be no way of controlling this. I have read if you take Ibuprofen for 10 days or if you get your next shot earlier then you are scheduled, or if you start on the pill. I have tried the Ibuprofen I have been taking 1000m a day and it has been 6 days now it has not stop, so I'm thinking of just riding it out and let it get out of my system on its own.

It has been 6 months and I am always fatigued and plagued by terrible cramps that also won't stop. She told me that if it doesn't stop I'll have to explore another treatment option. I'm only 19 and don't know what to do.. if anybody can help that would be amazing.
My doc ended up putting me on bc to stop the bleeding I took it for a month after I finished them I finally got a normal period then got pregnant that cycle but I miscarried that one too....
the thing is i went to the docs office in mid feb he prescribed me to take medroxyprogesterone to elevate my hormones since they were still a little higher than usual which is common for women who have miscarried. after taking the meds i got a period again and that was when i had the 3 lucky days in the begining of marsh where i was blood free.
I was put on another hormone medroxyprogesterone which is supposed to stop the bleeding. It seems that after I take it in the evening, it does seem to slow me down. The problem occurs after taking my Levothyroxine again in the morning. I get very heavy bleeding again. Can I take both in the morning? Maybe one will balance the other. So far the bleeding doesn't want to give up. I do also have at least 1 fibroid & just had an ultrasound. The doctors think I'm in perimenopause.
It also causes irregular bleeding or spotting, heavy or prolonged bleeding, or your menstrual bleeds to stop altogether. Since you have been having menstrual bleeding that is heavy or prolonged you should inform your doctor. This is merely an advice and not a substitute of clinical examination. Consult your attending doctor. Take care!

from exeperience you just have to wait it out because chances are your body is trying to get you back into a normal cycle and if you havent bleed in over a year then you must have alot of built up tissue so it may be normal i would go to the doctor and make sure u have lab work done to make sure ur iron is up
Ferralet90, TandemF, Repliva... and put me on Medroxyprogesterone (to stop the bleeding). He said 2 iron pills a day and 2 of the other a day. He did a pap smear and an endometrial biopsy, took 3 tubes of blood and said we have to get my blood count back up and go from there to see what actually is wrong. We scheduled a mammogram and I'm going back to see him next week.
I had a case of a non-stop peroid for four weeks, so i went to the dr and he put me on 10mg of medroxyprogesterone for 5 days and then to start taken brithcontrol after i started bleeding again. I have been taking Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) for 11 months now to induce my period each month. I take 10mg days 16-26 each month. I usually get my period 2-5 days after i stop the medicine. This month however, its day 11 and still no period. For the past week or so I have been experiencing very painful/sensitive nipples, slight abdominal cramping, excessive tiredness, headaches, and nausea.
he p[rescribed me medroxyprogesterone to take for 5 days and that would bring me period one which should stop the non stop bleeding. well after taking the medroxyprogesterone for 5 days, 2 days after finishing it, i got my period (a heavier one) passed that through for the 6 days and it stopped again. exactly 9 days later the light bleeding/spotting started again and it hasent stopped since.
Suggested taking Medroxyprogesterone to stop my period and take it for 3 weeks then stop so that it helps to regulate my cycle. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thankyou.
I had a miscarriage in Sept05 and my periods have progressivly got longer and heavier. Ive been prescribed medroxyprogesterone acetate (provera) to regulate my periods,on days 15 to 25 of my cycle. Was told it would not interfer with my fertility but all info ive seen clearly states do not use if pregnant. I could get pregnant then take the provera as i wont know im pregnant til i miss my next period. Very anxious about any damage i could be doing, any one been in a similar situation??
I took them for about 2 weeks to stop the bleeding (from 9/10 to 9/20 and I missed a day or two). One of the other doctors in the practice told me to stop taking them around 9/25. I should have started my period on 10/4. It's 10/14 (day 40) and still no period. I have pregnancy symptoms and mild lower abdominal cramping, but still no bleeding. I took an at home test when I was 6 days late and it came back negative, but I am still having symptoms. I think that I am pregnant....
Five days after I started the medroxyprogesterone, I had another attack at work, but was able to quiet myself down enough to drive home, and didn't get back to feeling normal until mid-morning the next day. During my previous years on hormone therapy, I did notice that about 3 days after starting the medroxyprogesterone each month, the hot flashes would come back and I would several times awaken in the middle of the night or in the morning with the feeling that I could not breathe enough air.
How can I get them to pay for a hysterectomy? Or if you have some advice on how to stop this that would be awesome as well. If anyone includes the word "normal" I might cry.
I to have bleed for 25+ days, and my doc would give me Medroxyprogesterone for 3 wks to stop the bleeding. Do you have an underline problem? Like PCOS? Have they checked for cysts? Bloodwork to check hormones? Periods for some can take a couple of years in order to get regulated, while some just go right into coming like clockwork. I would see the docs and let them know that you are concern and if they maybe can put you on birthcontrol to start getting it regulated....
I had my Mirena IUD taken out and 4 days after i started my period, it is now 10 days later and i'm still on my period! so my doc prescribed this medication to me from what i gathered it is to stop the bleeding. will this make me ovulate after i have finished taking it? I really don't know awhile lot about it, so any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
