I was bleeding for 3 months straight and my obgyn put me on medroxyprogesterone to make it stop. I started it the day before I was predicted to ovulated. I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?

well I took it b/c my period stop and they did lab levels and my progesterone level was too low on day 10 the last day I was to take the pill I got my "period" well I basically bleed since it isn't really a period. My dr told me to give it 2wks and if nothing happened call them back and we would do they same thing again. It doesn't always work the first time and I have known people that it took another round.

Now, in April I have been since April 13 bleeding from spotting to light and was put on Medroxyprogesterone April 30 - May 9th today is the 12th and I am bleeding heavy .. I was told to start the Lysteda I originally and preferred to take . Why didnt my period stop ? I thought that was the whole thing with Medroxyprogesterone. Now I have to have a biopsy and blood work . What if it doesnt stop will this medicine be used again ?

My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ! It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated. They should be able to take it from there. Good luck!

recently started taking Medroxyprogesterone for heavy bleeding..I've had all the test ultra sounds,d&c,hysteroscopy etc..to rule out cancer..I've been in menopause for 3 years but because of a thick uterus lining I do bleed.. Thank you for responding back to the post. And I really pray that God intervenes and be a spiritual cure for this pcos. My fiance and I really want to have one more baby. But as I explained to him description and the purpose he became really concerned also and told me to read on it more. As I read the stories and the comments I became sad because for one I have never been through this and for this to be my first time it puts me a bit on edge.

i used it for five days only 10 mg, after 4 days my first AF arrived. then after 20 days AF arrived again then i used provera to stop the bleeding. right now im using it for 16 days my doctor told me that my AF will arrive may 25th. then i will take clomid... by the way my cycle is regular but now im in hormonal imbalance...

Didn't know if I should repost to your question as to what type of progesterone I was on. It's Medroxyprogesterone, 10 mgs. and the patch is Vivelle .1, But, I only use either 1/4 to 1/2. I seem to need 1/2 when I'm on the Medroxyprogesterone because sometimes the night sweats come back during those 10 days. I also have Prometriu which I don't use. Can someone switch from Medroxyprogesterone to Prometrium. My girlfriend takes the Prometrium every day instead of Medroxyprogesterone for 10 days.

From 4/23--4/25 I ate Medroxyprogesterone tablet my ob gave me. My bleeding has fully stopped. Can I start to have an attempt to get pregnant now or do I need to wait for one more cycle? Thanks a lot.

After having the non stop bleeding from jan 14 thru feb 14 my doctor put me on medroxyprogesterone and that made me get my period and made the bleeding stop for about 9 days. then all of a sudden here it is again! it's like a surprise every morning waking up and seeing that it has continued. I dont know exactly whats going on. the other day i kind of had a little more bleeding than the normal spotting i get and passed 2 clots but it wasnt like a normal period.

my gyn gave me provra to stop bleeding and all it did is made it worse ive been bleeding for three weks today so i wish i could help you but the only thing is i was dx with pcos fibrods and possible adenomyosis i sugges u/s at radiolgist office or hospital and mri thats what i had the drs office u/s dont see every thing clearly hope this info helps

Which stopped the bleeding for 3 weeks, to do testing. They wanted to do a blood transfusion, thats how much blood I lost(also anemic) It ended up being fibroid's.Along with low iron and potassium. a simple prescription of birth control regulated my bleeding.Ask your doctor if a new type of pill will help.

My doc ended up putting me on bc to stop the bleeding I took it for a month after I finished them I finally got a normal period then got pregnant that cycle but I miscarried that one too....

She has been on a number of different hormone therapies which have to be changes every few months when they stop working. Without the pills she would bleed non stop. This has been the case for almost 3 years now and she is a Junior in High School and thinking ahead to her future which hopefully will include children. LOL HOWEVER, my concern is mainly the emotional / mental side effects after stopping yasmin, as well as excessive weight gain after stopping. (while not pregnant) Has anyone either Experienced these side effects after stopping yasmin OR known of anyone who has or know anything about these effects. I am guessing they are caused from the drop in the hormone levels. Also, I have heard about primrose oil and flaxseed oil being good to regulate hormones or help PMS symptoms.

from exeperience you just have to wait it out because chances are your body is trying to get you back into a normal cycle and if you havent bleed in over a year then you must have alot of built up tissue so it may be normal i would go to the doctor and make sure u have lab work done to make sure ur iron is up

HI, The bleeding that is not getting controlled with progesterone and birth control pills will need further evaluation. Hence you can wait for a few more days to see the effect of pills. If bleeding does not stop an ultrasound scan should be done. Hope this helps.

he p[rescribed me medroxyprogesterone to take for 5 days and that would bring me period one which should stop the non stop bleeding. well after taking the medroxyprogesterone for 5 days, 2 days after finishing it, i got my period (a heavier one) passed that through for the 6 days and it stopped again. exactly 9 days later the light bleeding/spotting started again and it hasent stopped since.

Ferralet90, TandemF, Repliva... and put me on Medroxyprogesterone (to stop the bleeding). He said 2 iron pills a day and 2 of the other a day. He did a pap smear and an endometrial biopsy, took 3 tubes of blood and said we have to get my blood count back up and go from there to see what actually is wrong. We scheduled a mammogram and I'm going back to see him next week.

I have been taking Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) for 11 months now to induce my period each month. I take 10mg days 16-26 each month. I usually get my period 2-5 days after i stop the medicine. This month however, its day 11 and still no period. For the past week or so I have been experiencing very painful/sensitive nipples, slight abdominal cramping, excessive tiredness, headaches, and nausea.

I took them for about 2 weeks to stop the bleeding (from 9/10 to 9/20 and I missed a day or two). One of the other doctors in the practice told me to stop taking them around 9/25. I went to the doctor and she prescribed me Provera (Medroxyprogesterone). I took it for 10 days, then 3 days after I stopped, I got my 'period'. It was light for the first 2 days, 3rd day was normal, now today (day 4) its heavy and I have huge clots coming out too. Its kind of scary because I've never had this happen before. This morning I felt something come out, so I went to the bathroom and pulled my pants down and there was a clot the size of a ping pong ball on the pad.
