My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month.

My doctor prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone about a week ago and told me to take it for 5 days until i get my period then start taking birth control once it starts. it's been about 8 days and i still havent gotten my period. she says that it you dont get your period for more than 3 months (without the medicine, naturally) then i have a great risk of uterus cancer. Does this mean i have cancer because it isnt working?
During your normal cycle your progesterone raises right before your period and that drop in levels causes the period. The medroxyprogesterone is just like that normal rise and drop. I hope this helps!
Hi I'm 27 years ago and I have a 7 year old daughter. Me and my fiance have been ttc for 3+ years now. I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days. I started taking this medicine on the first of March and had a regular cycle on the 19. I didn't take the medicine in April due to me being on antibiotics. I didn't have a period in April and haven't had one so far in May. I'm usually regular with my cycles being off a few days.
Did they give you a blood HCG before they prescribed the medicine?
My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ!
It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated.

Okay my doctor give me medroxyprogesterone 10mg. So I told my doctor it was a iregular she gave me that to take for 10 days, one pill a day. It's been just over a year since my last period so my doctor prescribed Provera to start my period then Clomid. I took the Provera as prescribed for 10 days. I am taking the Medroxyprogesterone 150MG/ML birth control shot and I get very long periods, now? I have been on my period for 11 days now. I took Medroxyp Ac 10mg. I was prescribed 5 pills to take 5 days in a row. I took 2 of them 2 days in a row skipped a day and took 2 of them 2 days in a row and didn't take the 5th pill. Would this have something to do with why I am going on 12 days tomorrow being on my period?! I took the pills the prior months correctly like directed and my periods were normal (5-7days).
My doctor precribed me medroxyprogesterone because I haven't had my period in 44 days. Took a pregnancy test today at the dr office and it was negative. They are putting me on this to induce a period. Has anyone ever taken this before? How long does it take for your period to come? I have six pills one per day. Also, any successful pregnancies soon after this drug was taken?

If you were my patient, I would advise you that Medroxyprogesterone acetate doesn't help you get pregnant. It only helps you have a period if you are not ovulating on your own. If you want to get pregnant, you should probably ask your doctor for a medication such as Clomid which will help you ovulate too.
