medroxyprogesterone how long until period

Hi ladies! I have PCOS as well, never have a period unless prescribed medroxyprogesterone, also don't ovulate. Recently went to a infertility specialist and he is putting me on medroxyprogesterone followed by clomid and femara. That is supposed to jump start the ovaries. Did the vaginal ultrasound that diagnosed me with PCOS, had an MI for my pituitary gland , and a lovey HSG test for the uterus and tubes had a mucous plug but that is about it for now. My doctor prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone about a week ago and told me to take it for 5 days until i get my period then start taking birth control once it starts. it's been about 8 days and i still havent gotten my period. she says that it you dont get your period for more than 3 months (without the medicine, naturally) then i have a great risk of uterus cancer. Does this mean i have cancer because it isnt working?

My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month.

I AM A LITTLE SCEPTICLE ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE REASON OF ME TAKING IT IS BECAUSE MY PERIOD NOT ONLY LASTED FOR 13 OR 14 DAYS FOR THE PAST 6 TO 7 MONTHS. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO START ON THE FIRST OF MARCH AND TAKE IT FOR 10 DAYS. MY NEXT SET OF MEDICATION IS TO START APRIL 1 FOR 10 DAYS.

Did they give you a blood HCG before they prescribed the medicine? My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ! It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated.

During your normal cycle your progesterone raises right before your period and that drop in levels causes the period. The medroxyprogesterone is just like that normal rise and drop. I hope this helps!

They are putting me on this to induce a period. Has anyone ever taken this before? How long does it take for your period to come? I have six pills one per day. Also, any successful pregnancies soon after this drug was taken? Thanks!

t suggest using them until you are about 3-4 days away from your due period. I tested 6 days prior to my period beginning and it was negative. I tested 2 days later and I got a faint positive. If you test negative and you are late test again in like 2-3 days. If you are more than a week late and you keep getting negatives call your doctor.

My positive didn't show up until I was a day late. But u might be able to cause the hormone levels are different for all woman. But I tested on a 4 days sooner test and Ur was neg then got my positive after I was a day late.
