medroxyprogesterone for menorrhagia

got prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg to stop my bleeding of 2months. how long does it take to work? I been taking it for 3days and still heavy bleeding.

More information is that I was on birth control for about 8 years and have been taking medroxyprogesterone for about a year now. I take 2 pills per day for the first 15 days of every month.

Did the vaginal ultrasound that diagnosed me with PCOS, had an MI for my pituitary gland , and a lovey HSG test for the uterus and tubes had a mucous plug but that is about it for now. Keep you updated.

Causes of menorrhagia are Hypothyroidism, Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia like ovarian tumor and polycystic ovarian disease,endometrial polyps and neoplasia,endometriosis,fibroids and uterine sarcomas. In my opinion you need to get your pelvic examination done from your gynecologist along with investigations like complete blood count,thyroid function tests,PAP smear and ultrasound uterus.

I take the depo shot and when I have a period it stays on forever like talking 4 to 5 months my doctor told me it qould be normal for the forst 2 or 3 months ive been taking it for almost 7 why so I stay on my period forever???

So I have had a super heavy period for 2 months straight and it is still going! I started having my periods last year in September. I am not having any cramps whatsoever.
