I haven't had period since Sept 28 so my Dr put me on medroxyprogesterone 10 days 10mg, but my period came down on day 4. should i continue to finish medroxyprogesterone so should i take metformin???

Hi ladies! I have PCOS as well, never have a period unless prescribed medroxyprogesterone, also don't ovulate. Recently went to a infertility specialist and he is putting me on medroxyprogesterone followed by clomid and femara. That is supposed to jump start the ovaries. Did the vaginal ultrasound that diagnosed me with PCOS, had an MI for my pituitary gland , and a lovey HSG test for the uterus and tubes had a mucous plug but that is about it for now. I finished taking a 10 day supply of medroxyprogesterone 9 days ago and still no period. Should I be concerned? Can I still get pregnant this cycle using iui? Or should I wait for one more cycle after this?

More information is that I was on birth control for about 8 years and have been taking medroxyprogesterone for about a year now. I take 2 pills per day for the first 15 days of every month.

During your normal cycle your progesterone raises right before your period and that drop in levels causes the period. The medroxyprogesterone is just like that normal rise and drop. I hope this helps!

My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Did they give you a blood HCG before they prescribed the medicine? My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ! It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated.

Hello All, It's been Six days since my last medroxyprogesterone (provera) pill and I'm waitinf for AF to show and nothing! So of course her I go with the worrying. I have PCOS so the chances of me being pregnant right now without the Clomid Metformin and Medroxyprogesterone is slim to none as I haven't had a cycle since July of Last year.

I went to the ob gyn and she prescribed me with this tablet medroxyprogesterone acetate she said it will help me menstruate and she will be expecting me to menstruate after a week but I'ts been a week since I've been taking these tablets and still no menstruation. Am i pregnant?

He put me on medroxyprogesterone for 5 days and right after that i got my period. it lasted for 5 days and stopped and then all of a sudden started again and hasent stopped since. I don't know what is going on! I'm affraid of going thru that again! I am taking the Medroxyprogesterone 150MG/ML birth control shot and I get very long periods, now? I have had my period for 35 days stright, I have frequent migraines not headaches, I'm feeling very weak, am having cold/hot flashes. I am just feeling the most horrible I have ever felt. With the stuff that made me hurt it took over a month to get my period, and I had those pains the whole time. With the others stuff I had no pains and my period within a couple days. Good luck with everything!

Hi im 22 yrs old and started my period when i was 16. My period has never been regular. Since i started my period, it has only come 3 to 4 times a year. i have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend for 3 yrs now, never been on birth control and have yet to come up pregnant. I finished a dose today and am anxiously awaiting a period as well. My last period was in may and none since. I had slight acne went away if you dont touch them, nausea and extremed mood swing. Plan B has a 25% failure rate and it will certainly effect your next period. So yes, you might be pregnant and yes, this could be a side effect of the pill.

I am 43 with irregular periods and my period stopped after June. I had blood work done and I am not full menopause - so my DR, put me on Medroxyprogesterone for 10 days to start it up. Is it true that these drugs can make you more fertile after all is on track? I've posted before as I would love to get pregnant. When I thought I was full menopause I was sad to say the least.

I am 20 years old and have not had a period for almost a year. I have seen a doctor about this and have been tested for many things including thyroid disorders, pituitary problems genetic tests and hormone imbalances. I have somewhat low estrogen (29) for my age and somewhat high FSH (18). I do not have any other issues than these either. I don't know if this will definitely lead me to early menopause and other health problems or if not having a period really isn't that big of a deal.
