Avatar n tn Hi, No.. you won't die! I used to have an overactive thyroid too. You can't have the surgery until your thyroid is controlled with the meds. It might take some time, mine took about 1 -2 years. You might need more medication? Also try to eat lots of foods that will suppress the thyroid like broccoli.

Avatar m tn Other possible causes are drugs, prescribed medicines, brain, nerve or movement disorder, alcoholism, low blood sugar, muscle fatigue, stress, anxiety, overactive thyroid, too much caffeinated drinks, multiple sclerosis and parkinson’s disease. you could try relaxation techniques, meditation, avoid caffeine, sleep well, abstain from alcohol etc. consult a neurologist if the tremor is worse at rest, prolonged and is associated with headaches, weakness, muscle tightening etc.
Avatar n tn Then 3 weeks ago I went back into AF and the hospital did a blood test for the thyroid, although throughout all this process my GP had tested and stated my thyroid was fine. The hospital test revealed a TSH of 0.03 and suggested I return to the GP who again tested and now states I have T level of 26. I feel anxious and unwell, not sure which comes first if I have an overactive thyroid, is it causing AF or could the AF and amiodrone have caused the thyroid?
