Avatar n tn Hello, Yes from the symptoms it looks like a recurrent kidney infection only. Kidney infections usually occur because of a bladder infection or urinary tract infection. In rare cases, kidneys can also be infected through the bloodstream. To avoid recurrent kidney infections, take plenty of fluids, avoid holding urine, keep the genital area very clean, wear cotton undergarments and loose clothing and urinate before and after intercourse.
Avatar f tn kidney infections can cause severe back pain trust me I have had many. And yes medicines can cause kidney pain as well. Before I knew better when I would take ibuprofin my kidney would hurt. sinus/throat infectiions can sometimes cause kidney infections as well. Not often but it can happen. Usually the back is the first place that hurts known as the flank area that will hurt when you have a kidney infection. But I have had kidney pain and no infection and was caused by medicines.
Avatar f tn s what happened to me after a long time on antibiotics and accidentally taking too much Florastor for several weeks. The packaging and advertising for Florastor does not highlight this possibility, but it's becoming better known as more people take it. The general attitude among MDs is that probiotics are harmless, but in certain circumstances, they can cause serious problems. Don't freak out over this, but consider it and keep it in the back of your mind, okay?

Other causes are changing sexual partners frequently, pregnancy, diabetes and of course childhood infections. The urine can also be due to retention of urine anywhere in its flow due t obstruction. Avatar n tn A couple years ago I started developing chronic urinary infections. There was always some mild bleeding with these. I take medication from the doctor, it would go away, and then a few months later it would be back. Sometimes the urine tests would come back negative. No one knew what was happening. I started keeping a log of when this started and what I was doing different. I realized that I had started drinking a lot of ice tea.

Avatar f tn I began having kidney infections at the age of 7. I had several severe kidney infections in my teen years and early 20's and had several test done with results of scarring only. I had the worst kidney infection in my late 20's with a fever of 104.5 and E.coli present, the "walk in clinic" doctor wanted to send me to the hospital but I refused due to having two small children and recently divorced, so I chose to just take medication at home.

565147 tn?1218252591 Any abnormality of the urinary tract that obstructs the flow of urine (a kidney stone, for example) sets the stage for an infection. An enlarged prostate gland also can slow the flow of urine, thus raising the risk of infection. UTIs may occur in infants, both boys and girls, who are born with abnormalities of the urinary tract, which sometimes need to be corrected with surgery. UTIs are more rare in boys and young men. In adult women, though, the rate of UTIs gradually increases with age.

Avatar f tn I have had numerous UTIs an Kidney infections I have almost lost my R kidney about 5 times. I end up with pylinifritis around my kidneys. Hope to hear back from you. Thanks a lot.
Avatar n tn You need to see a Urologist who can order x-rays or an ultrasound of your kidneys and can look into the bladder and urethra for evidence of a persistent infection. There are people who get very frequent recurrent infections and need to be on long term suppressive antibiotics for control. Good Luck.
