Last night I had quite a bit of blood come out when I went to the bathroom, then this morning the right side of my stomach started to hurt really bad and it has hurt all day and now tonight along with the abdominal pain I now have dark red blood clots in my stool. Yesterday it was bright red and now it is dark red and clots. I am so scared and I do not know what to do. Please help. I am 29 years old and I am normally pretty healthy. I have never had a problem like this before.

Recently I have been passing moderate amounts of blood with every bowel movement which has been bright red in colour and dark red on occassions as well with abdominal pain. I have anal fissure recently and when I go #2, there blood on my tissues and blood bright red drops to the toilet bowl, but I do feel pain cuze i'm consipitate (spelling)..
you do feel pain though if it anal fissure, but since you say you have no pain, you need to check it out, maybe hermoirroid, those don't cause much pain compare to anal fissure.

Bright red blood in the stools is usually nothing to be too concerned about as it means that it is coming from the rectum and not farther up, which would then look like coffee grounds and could be much more serious. Probably hemorrhoids. Make sure you eat enough fiber to maintain regularity. Best to check with your doctor though, just to be sure.

I am only 22 years old an recently have been put on high blood pressure meds. I was wondering if this could have anything to do with bright red blood in my stool. I have been on the meds about a month and the blood just started about a week ago. I have never had the ideal "bowel movement" I tend to have cramping and a urge to use the bathroom. The blood is not little its enough to see on toliet paper. If anyone could help me.Thanks!
many times bright red blood is just due to a ruptured membrane or blood vessel close to the surface and entrance of the rectum so it isn't ALWAYS something to freak out about. When you feel like you have to pass a BM however....you have accompanied stomach discomfort and then all you pass is blood.....that's something to consider.
It could be something as worrisome as an ulcer or as seriously urgent as cancer. You only passed blood? No stool of any kind?
They found I had vasculitis. They did a bone marrow biopsy which showed nothing. Blood work was low white count, low red count and two others I forgot the name of, they did MRI’s as well. Then they had a wheelchair delivered to my room and discharged me still paralyzed with no definitive reason why. They gave me no results or follow up orders. I found out from home health that they called it paralytic syndrome. I’m also indefinitely on no weight bearing at all.

My husband has had visible, bright red blood in his stool for 3 months now. It happens every other bowel movement, sometimes it is alot and sometime its minimal. Subsequent monthly tests have revealed trace, small and now large units of blood in his urine. His thyroid test came back critically low and we made an appt with an endocrinologist. His primary doctor said to cancel this appt because the thyroid test was sub clinical (?). His erythrocyte dist width in his blood work is also low (11.7).
I have had problem with red blood cell count dropping. I've been sent for bllod work frequently for last 2 wks each time it's lower. Increases fatigue. are there other options than stopping tx. can't imagine starting over.also searching for new dr.
