Hear me out. I was told my first daughter was going to.have down syndrome. At the time I was 13 weeks when I.had blood work drawn my doctor told me I was supposed to go to the lab between 15-20 weeks. I went in at 16 weeks and found out my daughter was fine and did not have down syndrome. She is six months and healthy as could be and development skills are great. If your twenty one weeks that scan may be FALSE its for 15-20 weeks scan. Talk to you doctor about it and see what he say.

No, but they can do a blood test. I've never heard of Down's being diagnosed at the ultrasound.
He was born and they told us they thought he had down syndrome. He does have down syndrome and it was a huge surprise. It was one off the hardest times in my entire life but he is 3 now and it's amazing. I know it's incredibly difficult to hear right now. You probably have so many emotions and that's normal. I agree with ktowne,,i got the ds blood test done and the sonogram just to check so if my baby would have it i would be able to prepare..my sister in law has down syndrome and its hard on her..i would never want to put my child thru the crap her parents do just out of not knowing how to Handel the disorder..
