Avatar n tn d like to help, but the problem is that you may not know any of the possible causes that docs have already tested for and ruled out. There can be a LOT of different causes for fecal and urinary incontinence, and all of the tests need to be done and medications tried before you start to think about surgery. Do you know all of the tests he's had? Has any disease been diagnosed that could result in the fecal issues such as pancreatic problems, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel issues, or???
Avatar n tn Hi to everyone! I started having the problem with urinary incontinence about 4 years ago when I was 30. At first it was not that bad and I did not really worry or think about it. The last 2 years it got worse. It is not that much the frequency as the urgency that is my problem. The urge comes suddenly and is very strong. I have few minutes to find a toilet or otherwise I just can not hold it.

Avatar m tn I'm suffering from Urinary Incontinence. I'm 40 year old male. I all ready have an enlarged prostate and had that for many years, but recently I've been dealing with incontinence. I pretty much drip after every time I urinate and it may last for a half hour to hour after urinating. I had a Cystoscopy and a Urodynamic and they didn't find anything wrong with the bladder. My problem seems to be getting worse. I was on medication but it doesn't seem to help.
Avatar f tn Some of the causes of OAB can be Urinary tract infection, medications such as diuretics, neurological disease (parkinsonism, MS), tumors of the urinary tract, nerve damage caused by trauma to the abdominal area or pelvis or prior surgery, stress incontinence - associated with weak pelvic floor muscles. Diagnosis is done by medical history, examination and investigations such as urodynamic testing multichannel, or subtracted, cystometrogram. cystoscopy, imaging tests etc.

Chiari 0 is a relativly a newer term...there is no herniation...but if u have copies of ur MRI u can see the crowding....there r areas inside that should have spaces btwn...the crowding causes the CF not to flow as it should and causes headaches and other chiari symptoms.....

5509293 tn?1428531475 Does it make sense for a neurologist to order a whole set of mris with and w/o contrast after hearing a report of one episode of urinary incontinence and several days of frequency? I have only had a uti analysis to check for UTI but no exam by either primary doc or neurologist. Why go straight to mris? And could this be related to kidneys? Because the MRI dye can impact kidneys adversely. All of this is in the context of previous mris to check out parethesias which didn't lead to a dx.
Avatar n tn Urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction are the two most bothersome effects following successful treatment of cancer following radical prostatectomy. Some patients do not recover full urinary continence for upwards of a year to a year and a half depending on numerous factors. I would encourage you to discuss this issue with your doctor where you can discuss things like pelvic floor exercises and medications that can improve certain aspects that may contribute to his leakage.
Avatar n tn Hello, What you seem to be having is urinary incontinence. Urge incontinence is involuntary loss of urine occurring for no apparent reason while suddenly feeling the need or urge to urinate. The most common cause of urge incontinence is involuntary and inappropriate detrusor muscle contractions.Involuntary actions of bladder muscles can occur because of damage to the nerves of the bladder, to the nervous system (spinal cord and brain), or to the muscles themselves.
Avatar n tn When I first visited my GP I was tested for STDs, and was given several different medications (for a suspected infection) all of which seemed to have no effect. When I complained further about the problem I was referred to an urologist and had a cystoscopy performed. The urologist didn’t find any problems and told me that further procedures may have a detrimental affect to my sex life and cause further problems.
Avatar f tn Ever since the Ureteroscopy I have had pretty bad stress urinary incontinence. Is this a normal side effect of either procedure?? Is this a permanent side effect?? Is there anything non surgical I can do to help the incontinence? I've been doing Kegel exercises religiously since October with no results. It's been 6 months of urinary incontinence.

Avatar f tn Anyone, at any age, who suffers urinary incontinence or leaks urine. While the exercise mainly helps those with stress urinary incontinence, it can also help those with another common type, urge incontinence from overactive bladder. With urge incontinence, you have a sudden urge to urinate and don't always make it to the bathroom. Men with urinary incontinence problems can do Kegel exercises, too.
