Medications for endometriosis

Common Questions and Answers about Medications for endometriosis

drug

Avatar f tn Yasmin was recomended to me by my doctor and other doctors because it is very effective medication for endometriosis and it is not like the other medications that makes you go into condition of early menopause. I was 19 years old when I had lap and Yasmin was the best solution for me. It helped me to make the endometriosis process stop for a while and it made the cysts not to grow rapidly.
Avatar f tn The doctor gave me Tramadol for my endometriosis pain. I have a full week of almost intolerable pain every monthl. Tramadol is one of the few drugs I can tolerate with regards to nausea (Vicodin et al seem to just make me puke immediately), and it does actually manage to relieve my pain fully or at least 80-90% (when I mix it with Aleve). The problem is this. I have to admit that I enjoy the Tramadol. It makes me feel good. Of course it does -- it makes everyone feel good.
Avatar f tn Endometriosis can be treated with medications and/or surgery. Medical treatments for endometriosis includes use of NSAIDs and interruption of the normal cyclical hormone production by the ovaries. These medications include GnRH analogs, oral contraceptive pills, and progestins. Surgery is the preferred treatment in situations with anatomic distortion of the pelvic organs or obstruction of the bowel or urinary tract. Endometriosis is often associated with infertility.
682098 tn?1236908245 I think that endometriosis is always there, maybe medications and pregnancy make some space, and endometriosis is gone for some period of time, but it's not forever gone. Every solution is just temporary. In some cases endometriosis dissapears after pregnancy or after surgery and medications, but I think that's rare, at least form my experience and of the experience of the women I know. Everything happened so early and so fast in my case, so i live faster and I think further.
Avatar f tn Periods before have always been a little heavy for the first 3 to 4 days then regular for the remaining days, usual period is for 6 to 7 days, like clock work never late never early every 28 days until now. I am 45 not taking any bc pills or any kind of medications. Get headaches here and there i think from losing so much blood. made appointment with doctor but cant be seen till mid April...should i be worried or am i just entering medipause?
Avatar n tn Hey, Raspberry Leaf Tea can help regulate periods, heat, and acupuncture (though in my experience it didn't help the pain completely and it was ridiculously expensive). No magical herb at this point! (That I know of, and believe me, I've really looked into this stuff!) I have endometriosis, and suffered from many of the symptoms you describe since my period began at age 11.
Avatar n tn I do have endometriosis I'm 18 and no medication
1046985 tn?1305117048 I have only just last week been allowed to do 12 hrs of work (luckily I have a very understanding employer) and my Dr has set these hours for the next month. I was originally diagnosed with stage 1A OVCA, and my recovery has been marred by major depression, and an abnormally traumatic surgical menopause.
Avatar m tn Have you found that medications are not really effective? I am actually having a lap soon to confirm endometriosis. And then begin treatment. I've been in pain for over a year; and many times felt like no one believed me. My guess is this is a normal experience endometriosis patients have.
Avatar f tn The use of progestin only contraceptives does seem to be used quite a bit for endometriosis (endo) as it can counteract the estrogen that feeds the endo lesions.
Avatar f tn I have endometriosis stage 4, fibromyalgia, IBS, CFS, RLS, PLMD, rheumatoid arthritis, and have seen 26 doctors in the past 20 years. I am on 9 medications for muscle spasm and pain, including fentanyl patches. I also take vitamins B, C, D, E, sea kelp, msn, Acidophilus, Beta-3, Magnesium, Zinc, and drink a protein shake in the mornings I am able to get out of bed to make one. Are there any other vitamins that have especially helped anyone?

1351105 tn?1277142905 I looked up something and it said that estrogen replacement is not the best thing with endometriosis. My soon to be husband and I are trying for another baby but if estrogen levels are low I know that can cause a bigger issue on being able to conceive. And I don't want to go back onto birth control due to the fact that we're trying for another. Do you know of any possible medications that I would be able to ask my Gyno?
Avatar n tn He has scheduled me for laparoscopy for tomorrow to confirm his diagnosis. I also have to mention that my periods are extremely irregular. Sometimes I have it every other week. Then I won't get it for a month. It's pretty much all over the place. During my period I suffer from nausea, diarrhea, large blood clotting, fatigue..in general I just feel terrible and usually unable to leave the couch. I am just looking for some answers since not one doctor can give me a definite answer.
374593 tn?1257879950 What are your opinions on Lupron for 3-6 months post-op, in order to achieve pregnancy in a patient with mod-severe endometriosis? From what i've ready I can't find any studies that say it increases conception rates, rather it may just make you asymptomatic during the treatment time. Do you ever use Femara for fertility purposis in Endometriosis patients - even though its blacklabel for this, it seems that it would make good sense? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 37. endometriosis, three on each ovary. largest 37x34mm. I had a laparoscopy done in Jan 2015, and went for a IVF, but failed. The doctor is planning to have the Da Vinci Robot to remove the cycts. I did some research online, I think the Da Vinci is treated for cancer. And doctor admitted that he didn't clean everything out when he did the laparoscopy in Jan. I want to know if anyone has the same experience that can be shared?
463595 tn?1333997222 If you are taking medications that cause you to not ovulate, there is no possibility of pregnancy. You must ovulate in order for you to become pregnant. Best bet is to go back to your doctor and have them see if you're ovulating. If so you can definitely become pregnant. If you're not, I believe you could take Ovulex.
Avatar m tn I am a 42 year old woman, with 1 child born c-section but prior to the birth of my child I had a laproscopic procedure done for severe endometriosis. The first time I got the pain it was a couple years after having my child. I read on here that endometriosis was a possible cause for someones rectal pain and I'm curious as to whether my endometriosis could be a possible cause.
Avatar f tn I normally bleed heavily for the first 3-4 days, and normally feel very bad right when I start (due to endometriosis), so I always know I started. Normally my cycle is 30-32 days. This month something different is happening. Around day 17 of my cycle I started noticing some blood in my discharge. I would only notice it when I would wipe after going to the bathroom, and it was on and off for about about 4 days. It stopped for 3 days, and started again. It did that for 3 more days.
